TheBlackOut 7 Posted December 7, 2005 So tomorrow I'm going under the knife & anesthesia & having all my wisdom teeth removed [thank god for anesthesia.] so wish me luck. It isn't that bad... you don't need luck. You just need tons of pain pills afterward. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 42 Posted December 7, 2005 Been there, done that. You'll be in pain for a couple of days... and for the love of god don't pick at your scabs. >_> Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 8, 2005 It really depends on the person, but most of the time you'll fall asleep, and then wake up a few hours later with MAJOR numbness. You don't even remember falling asleep or waking up... it's very surreal. First thing I remeber is opening the door of a friend's car who was driving me home. After that, you're on painkillers for a few days and eating lots of soup. Overall, the pain is really minimal. Be sure though that you DON'T push it right after the surgery- you are really torn up in there, but don't feel it. I ate a donut right after the surgery (tasted like copper...), and caused some pretty nasty tearing and now scarring. So... my advice is to just not move your mouth at all for like a day to let the stitches settle in. But hey, have fun! Share this post Link to post
Tree 0 Posted December 8, 2005 Don't die. (Whoop, better move the meter up a notch.) Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 14 Posted December 8, 2005 You'll have chipmunk face for a while. BTW Ive never had wisdoms pulled Share this post Link to post

Sonic 298 Posted December 8, 2005 Before they put you out to dreamland check your wallet  You should also listen to Metallica's Sad But True, the heavy riff is described as music for pulling your teeth out. Better yet you could also go with the strangely named song Anesthesia - Pulling Teeth by Metallica Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted December 8, 2005 I had no money in my wallet when I went in. Well it wasn't so bad as I thought it would be [the IV needle didn't hurt that much despite missing the vein the first time]. Then I was out in a few seconds & the next thing I remember was waking up in the chair, putting on my coat, & getting in the car. Now it's a 5 day weekend [woot]. Share this post Link to post

Guest Rabbit Posted December 9, 2005 Hell, I did it when I was 14. I wanted them out early. It caused a LOT less pain. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 14 Posted December 9, 2005 I heard about a pair of twins that had them out at 12 years old now that is early  Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 9, 2005 I say, do it at 3 months. No! Get them when they're just cartillage in the third trimester! Now THAT would be awesome  Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted December 9, 2005 I'd rather them just fit perfectly, and never have to remove them   Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 9, 2005 That would be nice... of course, for that to work you'd have to stop brushing or going to the dentist and just let them fall out naturally. That's why we have the wisdom teeth you know... hanging on to all of our teeth just isn't natural  Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted December 10, 2005 I haven't had any problems with them teeth.... Yet.... Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 14 Posted December 10, 2005 I haven't had any problems with them teeth.... Yet.... had braces and all that, never had a prob with wisdoms Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 10, 2005 I never even needed braces, and the wisdom teeth operation went smoothly. My teeth rock Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 42 Posted December 10, 2005 You people and your being lucky with teeth... I needed braces and for those to go on, I had to have 4 permanent teeth yanked out... actually, the nitrous wasn't so bad. Anyway, I never 'lost' any teeth. All of mine had to be pulled early to prevent crowding... Yeah, my dental health wasn't so good back in the day... The braces are off and my teeth kick ass. Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted December 10, 2005 I also had 4 teeth removed when I had braces. Only that time I was fully conscious. It was rather unpleasant.. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 14 Posted December 10, 2005 I've never had one pulled, never cracked a tooth, never chiped, no cavities or fillings of any sort and after the braces, mine kick arse. much better, after the shark teeth I used to have  Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted December 10, 2005 In order. Pallet Expander (To widen my mouth, they had to crank it everyday) Braces. Braces removed. 3 teeth pulled while I was concious. Braces replaced, now that the teeth were out of the way. Braces removed some year later. Retainer. An orthodontist that says "Oh **** we're dumbasses." (Which causes) More braces. Braces temporarily removed. Wisdom teeth removed. They had to saw through my jawbone to get to them, cause it was so early. Braces put back on. Taken off. And now, a retainer. So all of you should stfu. Share this post Link to post
