BWare 0 Posted December 18, 2005 Yeah, I was reading about that a little earlier. Pretty crazy, huh? Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted December 18, 2005 Kinda makes white supremacy moot, doesn't it? And they thought white was the original race... they are soooooo wrong. I like this research, we need more. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 19, 2005 ...never will be a universal cure for cancer. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted December 19, 2005 That's being a little pessemistic, isn't it? Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 19, 2005 Nope, just realistic. I've been studying the stuff pretty in depth... and yeah, it's not like a virus where you can find a cure-all vaccination or a bacterial infection that you can kill off with drugs. There's really no universal way to end cancer... it's just individual cells going haywire. It's a freak thing, but you have trillions of cells. There's really no way around it. Maybe something crazy like nanotechnology will hold the key. Who knows? But I would be AMAZED if cancer was no longer an issue by the end of our lives. Share this post Link to post

Doctor Destiny 41 Posted December 20, 2005 We can help cancer patients. What about people with AIDS? We can't rid them of that yet. Surely that would be a far greater miracle than eliminating cancer. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted December 20, 2005 Well I always knew the Chinese were the superior ones. Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 20, 2005 In my mind the superior ones are the quiet ones who work behind the scenes as for a cure ofr everything, I have 2 Optimistic outlook on life, eating well, and bacta ok so it was 3, but Bacta is a loooong way off, so go with the other two for now  Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 20, 2005 We can help cancer patients. What about people with AIDS? We can't rid them of that yet. Surely that would be a far greater miracle than eliminating cancer. Not true at ALL from a biological perspective, and hell... I have a cure for that already. I will never get AIDS. Why you ask? Because I'll stay abstinent till I'm married, and then never cheat on my wife. Simple as that- another life saved by good old fasioned values. So barring any freak accidents or a tainted future wife , I'll never get it. Cancer is much worse. It can strike anyone at any time. AIDS of course (and I say this very carefully) is gotten in many, many cases through acts of either wild, unprotected sex, or drug use (needle sharing). It is of COURSE a tragedy when someone gets it through a bad blood transfusion or is born with it, but I'm just saying.... you KNOW how to avoid it, but cancer strikes indiscriminately. People in Africa are born with it now though... And they can stay abstinent and never know they have AIDS, get married, then spread the virus to their spouce and offspring. Also, AIDS can spread without sexual contact. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 21, 2005 Right.... but with every disease of that type, it spreads only by body fluids to body openings. It's not like a cold. You don't shake hands with someone, wake up and realize, "oh no! I just got AIDS! Bummer!" It's not easy to spread it. In Africa yes, it is SO rampant that it's truly a problem, but I was talking about western countries for the most part. But your point about curing AIDS being a bigger thing than cancer..... no, not in any way at all. Share this post Link to post

Because I'll stay abstinent till I'm married, and then never cheat on my wife. Simple as that- another life saved by good old fasioned values. Ugh. Sorry dude. But my ex-girlfriend would absolutly LOVE to meet you. You two are practically alike in every single way. I hate to break it to ya kid but even though you may never cheat on her, what's to stop her from cheating from you? It happens to even people who believe strongly in those values. But that's just my pessemism coming through here. But yes, those are good guidelines to follow if you're concerned about getting AIDS. Right.... but with every disease of that type, it spreads only by body fluids to body openings. It's not like a cold. You don't shake hands with someone, wake up and realize, "oh no! I just got AIDS! Heh, I sometimes wonder as to which would kill of humanity first: Our own stupidty, or these dilibating diseases. I think it'd be a mixture of both. Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted December 22, 2005 whats wrong with Bware's point. I completely agree with him and will do the same thing. stay absinent till married and dont cheat good ol christian values  Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 22, 2005 Heh, I sometimes wonder as to which would kill of humanity first: Our own stupidty, or these dilibating diseases. I think it'd be a mixture of both. knowing our luck some terrorist will spread them in an attack, then try to take over ,only to realise "oh shiit, no I got it....." Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted December 22, 2005 well im not planning to stay abstinent because sex is a vital part of a relationship...and its a natural desire for sex...just not dum sex.. HIV will be cured before cancer..i'd bet money on it cancer is basically a glich in life...i think its the agent of death...but maybe geneology or even nanotech will one day turn the tide in the war with cancer Share this post Link to post
GeneralZ 0 Posted December 22, 2005 one of my friends said the solution to AIDs was to kill everyone has has it. That would eliminatie the disease and any more outbreaks. though its kinda extreme...it works.... Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 22, 2005 If we kill everyone over 40 and everyone with a 50% or greater risk for cancer then that is "cured" to.... Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted December 22, 2005 no it wouldnt cure cander to kill everyone who has it....its genetic sometimes Share this post Link to post
Cygnus X-1 12 Posted December 22, 2005 Thats not hte point. The point is that if we kill enough people, we solve all the worlds problems, except for one. Life. Cant live if your dead. Share this post Link to post
BWare 0 Posted December 22, 2005 no it wouldnt cure cander to kill everyone who has it....its genetic sometimes He was talking about HIV, (cancer isn't contagious ), but even then, the virus is VERY durable. Heh, I sometimes wonder as to which would kill of humanity first: Our own stupidty, or these dilibating diseases. I think it'd be a mixture of both. ...Or how 'bout... the CRUSADE AGAINST STUPIDITY! Just a thought  Oh, and redasblood... just because you have the urge to have sex doesn't mean you should do it . What are you, an animal? Say I have the urge to kill someone. Should I do it? The urge doesn't justify the action... there's morality and just plain common sense to consider. Stop thinking like an animal . Premarital sex does nothing but royally screw up your future PERMANENT relationship. Giving into urges never works out well. Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted December 22, 2005 Oh, and redasblood... just because you have the urge to have sex doesn't mean you should do it. Absolutly right. However: Premarital sex does nothing but royally screw up your future PERMANENT relationship. How so? I personally think that you can put off sex untill well into a reletionship. You don't have to wait untill marriage. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted December 22, 2005 yea i didnt say cancer was contagious WOW... and i didnt mean that we should give in to our natural urges, but to not ignore them..because we are for the most part logical and social animals now BWare stop trying to be neitzsche's overman with the "we shouldnt give into our urges".....we should consider our urges with some degree of logic and reason. premarital sex can be something great if done correctly.. with protection and with a spouse that is committed and close to our hearts....premarital sex will warn us of boring sex partners before marriage lol.....
