Microsoft SideWinder Reproduction Petition

Hey, I own a Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback Wheel and It still works after 6-7 years I bought it, And Now I was shocked when they weren't producing Microsoft SideWinder anymore, So I started a petition to get microsoft to continue making them.

 

This petition is for Microsoft to bring back SideWinder with the current line up and new models.

I don't know cause I have an older 1998-99 model that has a game port, I want everyone to see the Microsoft SideWinder evolve, and besides, Their perifables are innovative and always breaking the line.

Look at their hardware. Do you think any of it is ****, No, It's quality hardware made by microsoft, It's responsive, good looking and innovative, Their rasing the bar and pushing it high.

Microsoft is making enough money off of software. Their only big business hardware-wise is the XBOX. That's it. No other Microsoft hardware has made it big.

It's all about money dude... Sidewinders just weren't profitable enough- they weren't good enough! Besides, there is NOTHING you can do to change their minds... especially not a petition, and ESPECIALLY not an interntet petition :roll:

 

There are lots of great joysticks out there. Just go get one, and don't bother trying to change the collective minds of a multi-billion dollar company that focuses on software... THEY DON'T CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY :wink:

Here's what I'm doing to get it work, I'm trying to convince Microsoft to start producing the SideWinder Gaming Hardware agian, I'm doing it by phone and it looks like none of these guys know what SideWinder is, and If they even know what the SideWinder is A.K.A. Gaming Hardware, They'll tell you to call technical support cause they think that you have a problem with your sidewinder and he knows it's discontinued, If you call technical support, They'll try to figure out whats wrong from what your saying, And if they know, They'll redirect you to a misterious number withs ends in a dead end. Now I'm trying to reach the division that makes the SideWinder GamePads, Joysticks, Wheels and the Game Voice to convice them to start producing the sidewinder agian. Or at least produce me a SideWinder of choice.

 

Currently I'm having bad luck, But It will pay off eventually.

My friend used to rely heavily on sidewinders, he went through 4 gamepads and a steering wheel in an entire year! At the same time I bought a Logitech sidewinder RumblePad, and after 4 years, I'm still to destroy the damn thing, cos, quite simply no matter how much I end up clenching the damn thing tightly, ragging it about and throwing the thing on the floor in frustration, it's still as good as the day I got it!

 

Now that's quality! The Moral of this story? Sidewinders sucked, Logitech PC gaming and non-gaming peripherals rule...end of story!! Hell even my speakers & sub, Headphones, mouse and keyboard are all Logitech. Even my PSP is protected by a Logitech titanium case! That's how much I recommend them over some crappy microsoft gimmick!!!

Why quench, My microsoft wheel still works well after 7 years. and guess what, Everything still works well, The rumble works, The steering works, The responsiveness is still new. and everything is like new.

 

Now Logitech, I don't trust Logitech, They make ****ty gaming perhirables like their 3D Force Joystick, Which I bought, The power kept turning on and off and the power just kept going off, and the design was ugly, The throttle didn't work and it just felt uncomfortable.

 

Logitech also makes up lies that their products are superior to microsoft's, Lies, Logitech is the insuperiour product that makes faulty hardware, ****ty products, and products that claim their innovative, They just buy logitech of the name, I use Logitech Keyboard and Mouses, But not their PC Gaming Perhirables.

 

In other words, Microsoft SideWinder schools the competition in everything, including their Game Voice device, I sometimes use Saitek, But Microsoft is the way to go, It's better made, Innovative, and It's from Microsoft, What more do you need???

After hard work of calling retailers, I came across some leads. I called circuit city to see if they have it in stock, They said that they don't hold it. and then I called Radio Shack and they said that they don't have it in stock, and they were having a private conversation that I can half-hear, The conversation, Then I called Microsoft Shop and said that It's only available as a replacement, Not a new product and said that they needed my Product ID, and here's what they said.

 

The product is discontinued, You can't order it as a new product, but you can order it as a replacement.

 

So In other words, They still make them, Only as replacements, In other words, It's time to outsmart microsoft, This petition is to bring them to store shelves agian, Don't you see that.

Okay, if you are going to make a petition to outsmart someone, then they won't do it. If you think you are someone special and thinks that your petition will work, well you think you're god then don't you?

 

Replacement? Maybe Microsoft still has some... Overstocked at there warehouses for replacement, but once those replacements are gone. Thats it, they won't produce them. If you really think this petition is going to work, I will say you never made it out of the 3rd grade.

 

Edit: Oh ya, and 4 signatures would really make Microsoft consider this petition really seriously. :roll: :lol:

logitech speakers? pfft... i like my altec lansing speaker system with subwoofer jsut fine... and my nice altec lansing headset.

my joystick is pretty good... pc control usb joystick

 

but my microsoft steering wheel for pc still works beautifully. and its so old...

1. If they said they make that exact model, then that means they have extras. Lots of extras from the past that haven't been sold yet. (Thus showing that they didn't do as good as you think)

 

2. They could've also meant that you can get another product to replace it.
