F15pilotX 4 Posted December 20, 2005 Well, I've been looking around at them for a while, and want to see what most people have/want... so just give a pic and/or the specs of your video card, and while you're at it, one that you're thinking of getting soon (if you are) For me...a 64MB GeForce 4 MX 4000 AGP 8x Now, as to what I want....a NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT / 256MB DDR3 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card I would get something better, but to get a PCI-E at this point would force me to get a new processor and motherboard....about $550 So I'll go w/that pretty decent card Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted December 20, 2005 Why would you need to get a new motherboard? You could just upgrade the motherboard of the same socket with one that was has PCI-E. Mine. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 295 Posted December 20, 2005 My card is an MSI Geforce NX6600-VTD128 Diamond Its handled everything I have thrown at it but I regret not doing enough research when I purchased it, for the money I spent I could have got something better. Oh well lesson learned I guess. Share this post Link to post
Rusty Le Cyborg 0 Posted December 20, 2005 Mine - Sapphire Radeon 9600XT 256MB Works okay for what I want. It's my processor that generally seems to let me down... Cheers for now Share this post Link to post
F15pilotX 4 Posted December 21, 2005 Why would you need to get a new motherboard? You could just upgrade the motherboard of the same socket with one that was has PCI-E.I know that, but sadly, my processor is a Socket A AMD Athlon XP 2200+ :? There are no motherboards that support Socket A processors and PCI-E, at least I haven't found any Share this post Link to post

BWare 0 Posted December 21, 2005 Yeah, I seriously dount that they would have one. Socket A is pretty old Share this post Link to post

BWare 0 Posted December 21, 2005 ...back to the topic at hand, here's my video card: I also have installed custom cooling... an Arctic Silver Silencer. The thing is awesome. It sucks cool air in from inside the case, blows it through the solid copper (highly conductive) heatsink, and out the back. It dropped my card's idle and load temps by about 20 degrees C! F15pilotX 4 Posted December 21, 2005 Yeah, I seriously dount that they would have one. Socket A is pretty old Yea, and to get a PCI-E card would cost $586 because of that. However, that 6600 I meantioned seems like it'll work just fine till I save up enough for that huge upgrade Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted December 21, 2005 Just to show it off more. I had no idea it was huge. My last video card was like 3 times smaller than this... Share this post Link to post
