Strategies

Recommended Posts

I was totally bored and didn't see a thread for this yet, so:

Name a team (Allied, Soviet, Yuri)

Name an enemy team (Allied, Soviet, Yuri)

simply state a usefull strategy that u know of that someone else might not.

it sounds kinda corny, but i want to see how many people put something :|

Okay, since nobody has read this stupid thing in almost an hour, either everyone's sleeping, or it's even cornier than i thought. :crazyguy:

For: Allies

Against: Soviets

Send a spy into a Soviet Battle Lab.Create three Chrono Ivans. Create three IFV's. Load the Ivans into the IFV's and wait until you have a Chronoshift ready(if Superweapons are on) Shift the IFV's into the center of the enemy base (not the exact center, try to pick a spot where there aren't many Tesla Coils or Sentry guns or Battle Bunkers or garrisoned buildings [i know it sounds like a lot of work, but there is almost always at least one place in the enemy base with low defences]). send the IFV's, one at a time, into nearby buildings, where they will explode like demolition trucks. Rinse and Repeat.

TIP you can use more than three, but if there are nine (the most you can Chronoshift at once) when one is destroyed, the explosion could kill all of the other ones, though this isn't exactly a bad thing, for nearby buildings will be annhialated.

Seal rush. Just build a war factory and then a battlelab. Whilst battlelab being constructed locate enemy base, build 2 ifvs. Once battlelabe done, build a seal stick him in one ifv. Send both ifv's to enemy base, use first as a decoy and hopefully draw his units away, send in other ifv and c4 as much as you can before getting killed. Then just return to normal and kill him.

Though this backfires so often its not funny, cause if you don't get his MCV or at least a refinery or two, you're screwed since you're wasted all your money on that battlelab and the seal. :P

thats retarded....why waste money on battlelab and seal? just have an engineer and aim for conyard or refinery, then sell captured building

Spend some money on a battle lab. Creat a Battle Fortress (if u don't have YR, well too bad) load it with three chrono legionaires and two Guardian GIs. this will cost about $7500. the guardians are to protect against air attacks. move the fortress around, killing asorted enemy units until it is promoted to elite. now, send it to the enemy base. attack any prism towers or tesla coils that arent near any other defenses. because you have three CLs and the tank is promoted, any building that you chrono should warp in under 10 seconds. just work your way to the center of their base. Hooray! you won (or you were utterly distroyed)

Tip: you can get rid of one guardian and put in a seal to protect against infantry.

(Why doesn't anyone put something up for Soviets or Yuri?)

Cause an engineer can only take one building. If done right you're meant to kill his whole base...

Bombing Run.

For: Allies, Preferably Korea

Against: anyone

Okay, i'm sure some of you guys already do this alot. Build five airforce command buildings. Build twenty harriers (or black eagles). While they are being made, send out grizzly tanks or any other anti building weapon to the base you wish to destroy. take out as much anti-air defense as possible (Aiming for Power Plants is useful, but not always the best idea, because they are cheaper and build faster than anti-air stuff). when the Planes are ready, send them all after the enemy construction yard. it shouldn't take all the planes to take it out, so when it is destroyed, send them after power plants. when they are all out of bombs, send in a different force to finish the enemy off, and save the planes for the next opponent.

I never worry about money. I build up my defenses and then wait while my finances go up. I am NEVER out of money, no matter what i do, so i don't care how much it costs.

As far as time goes, it really doesn't take as long as you'd think. You can start creating the planes after your first Airforce Command, and if you sent out some other units while you wait, time flies.

heres an air strategy that Ive actually used online

Korea

afc-3 Beagles

your partner is also korea

afc-3 beagles

this can be done in less than a minute, and boom goes enemy con yard

by the time they get back you each have 4 and boom goes other con yard

I have alos done this by myself gainst people using only 6 Beagles, buts helluva hard to hold off their counterattack afterwards. Very usful is you have a team member ot protect you.

Soviet Strategy - nothing much works online against massed BF rushes and Yuri Rhinos, and lots othem is prob best. Or you can crawl wit hSeige choppers. However this is tough to do unless you wait until you have 120+ choppers, and by then you will be dead.

This is a base building strategy for teams.

Combine your bases! Find each other at the very start and put your conyards right next to each other. Pick an area with lots of open space. have one partner take the left side, and the other take the right. After building a Ore Refinery (or slave miner) start right on defenses because you just gave your enemies a head start. This works really well for me, but you have to practice it a little.

problem - distance and terrain

just start building parts of your bases from each others conyard

much easier and more economic than driving across the map 8)

Distance is a problem, but a minor one. If both players move toward a location that they previously agreed on, it doesn't take that long.

As for Terrain, that IS a problem. the best you can do is find a the largest open space that you can (this is easier if you've played the map before). Build buildings close together. use weird shapes to your advantage. (e.g. when building a tesla reactor to the lower left or upper right of a conyard, build it directly next to it. it leaves two empty squares that no building will fit in except for a defense building [tesla coil or flak cannon]) If you cram your buildings together, it works out OK. The combined defense buildings are nice, and can be built twice as fast. The benefit of doing it from the beginning and not just building seperate buildings off of an allies con yard is that you end up protecting your main con yard considerably better.

i still say cyg is rite...build production buildings off ally...if you get attacked you still have your buildings in his base..visa versa

why combine bases? you would both be draining off the same ore field and deplete it quickly.

really gryphon, you sound like an inexperienced player to me.

and cygnus, next time we go 2v2, do that grizzly rush we pulled off so well last time

Z, he is an inexperienced player. No one, and I do mean that, uses his strategies cause they're too expensive, ineffective or too unwieldy to use. It's rare to see superweapons being used and it's rare to see a Spy pop out of a Barracks.

Here's one I love to use against n00bs and it works against any faction but you need to be Soviet.

Make a quick run to your War Factory. Before getting a War Miner, build a Flak Track and a Terror Drone, and while doing that train an Engineer. Load the Drone and Engineer in your Track and run it up to their construction yard. They'll lose it either way if they don't have it protected. And most n00bs don't so you get em every time. If there's walls, aim for a WF or Refinery.

1. I am an inexperienced player. I have only had the game for six months and have only played three online matches.

2. I don't use that strategy often, it works best on specific maps.

3. I really don't care about what you guys think of my strategy, I made this thread so that i could see Your guys' strategies.

4. Some of you guys(no names) suck.

If you post stupid ****, you're going to hear about it. I'm not the greatest player ever but I have hundreds of hours of online play. Just getting expensive teams is not going to make you win. All of your strategies can be countered for under half of the cost you'd be spending, which puts me at a huge advantage.

3. I really don't care about what you guys think of my strategy, I made this thread so that i could see Your guys' strategies.

None of us really have any strategies like you described. Most of us play the same way each time, making small variances to account for the map or economy.

Let's take your Chrono Ivan attack and let's assume the game even lasts long enough. You need a Spy, which is $1000 and a ChronoSphere, $2500. Now we're up to $3500. Infiltrate and blah blah blah. Three Chrono Ivans, which come in at $1750 each. So now we're at $8750 + $1800 for IFVs. That's well over $10000, even more if you create nine. Hefty investment, not to mention slow. Bad idea... one "strategy" killed.

Again, let's assume the game lasts long enough for you get the proper forces for your BF attack. You need a Battle Fortress, $2000, 3 C-Legions, $4500, and 2 GGIs, $800. We're now at $7300. 4 tanks and that BF is gone. Less than half, and your wonderful BF is gone. Yep, nicked another one.

And for your "Bombing Run," I won't even go into it since it's so laughable it's not funny. You only see that many planes on n00b maps where you have infinite money and everything builds in a nanosecond. You'd get slaughtered in a real game if you tried that. Besides, 16 Flak Tracks/IFVs or 10 Gatt Tanks and your entire force will be annhilated, or at least most of it. Hey, I think I knocked off another one. Give me a hard one next time.

Inexperience is not an excuse for stupidity. Sorry bro, but that's the way it is.

Harsh harsh Fenring

buyt good points. Still, its good to "test" a few things out here before getting slaughtered online.

As for your base combining idea, defenses = good, however, low money like Z said, one SW attack and your ****ted, and you leave other areas open for them to expand on.

I said just build off ally conyards because i have done it before, and its a nice way to spread things out so you dont loose it all to one attack. Good way to effectively pull off a Grizzly Rush, such as what GeneralZ mentioned. We pulled that on 2 other players who were doing reasonably well, until 30 of my grizzlies and 20 of GeneralZs hit them. (his other "10" were invested into IFVs and Ore collecting)

You want a stratagy that's hard to find flaws in, try this!

Play as the soviets. Build two tesla reactors and some battle bunkers. when you have a barracks, fill the bunkers. that is 1000 bucks for each bunker because its 500 for the bunker itself and 100 for each of the five conscripts you put in them. Your base is now reasonably well defended against enemy ground units, but it did put a dent in your cash, so start mining. build a radar and some flak cannons. now wait for about three minutes while you build up cash.

BUILD CONSCRIPTS: build a lot. around sixty is good. this only costs 6000. send the sixty along with any of your allies troops. garrison in buildings near your enemies base if there are any and wait. you will shoot at any enemy units near by and prevent attacks on your base from the ground. when you've killed a bunch of enemies, or if there were no buildings, charge into the enemy base and destroy enough power facilities to cut power to their defenses. Aim for there construction yard next to prevent them from building more. You can even sneak an engineer into the group and he might make it to capture some buildings. Conscripts are fairly effective against buildings.

This costs 600+600 for the tesla reactors+ !000+1000+1000 for battle bunkers+ 2000 for ore refinery+500 for barracks+ 6000 for the troops or 7000 if you include two engineers+1000+1000 for flak cannons just in case. that equals 14700 total for defeating the first enemy and you can use the promoted conscripts against the next enemies. if done well, it will cost no more than 15500 for the entire map. If the opponent(s) are better than you thought, send in a couple of rhino tanks to help. If the enemy is Yuri and you are having problems, send in a war miner. I know it sounds weird, but it works.

This strategy allowed me to win against an opponent with almost a year more experience than me in 15 minutes because conscripts are made so fast and cheap. Using buildings to your advantage is also usefull because it promotes the conscripts.

Now, I may be inexperienced AND stupid, but I already knew that so telling me is like telling a hot dog that you are about to eat it. I'm sure you do that too.

problem

a black eagle rush will cripple you, I cna get 6 Beagles in under 3 min, i garuntee you cant get enough flak to kill them in that amount of time

other problem

Enemy Lasher or Grizzly rush, you will be seriously denting cash trying to build and stuff bunkers, and this takes some amount of time, especialyl if you only have one miner.

other than that, if you havent seen their forced in the first 5 min of the game, then its working.

nother problem-Tanks can crush your conscripts.

I dont mean to say you are dumb, Im just saying your strategy could use some tweaking.

well thank goodness you aren't saying that i'm dumb because that's all i hear everyday from my father, and i don't like hearing it in other places.

The black eagle thing would hurt, but I would tweak my plan anyway if i was against Korea.I'd just build some flack troopers before i build the conscripts. Don't be so sure that you can build the jets so much faster, cause they cost money, dude and alot more than flak troopers.as far as the tank rush, I start building bunkers as soon as i have a construction yard and fill them as soon as i build a barracks. if positioned in triangular patterns, they complement the surrounding units and shred tanks almost instantly. Besides, Conscripts train up to eight times faster than Rhino tanks and six times faster than Grizzlies. I could fill the bunkers completely before they even build their war factory. The tanks that i encounter at the enemy base are a problem, but if i have at least fifty conscripts in the area. each tank only lasts two to five seconds, which is only enough time to crush six or so conscripts. Money isn't a huge problem either. I usually play on maps with a lot of ore, but I tried this on a map with very little, and I realized that even though my plan was taking way longer than usual, so was my opponents.

Totally off subject but do you like my Avatar?

not sure what it is, but it looks cool

as for the flak troopers-need an awful lot ot kill Beagles before they bomb your con yards

heres some food for thought-what if they have the same or similar strategy ? what do you do then ? cause their bunkers will shred your inf too

It's two white tigers stepping into the Sapphire River in Bengali. The Sapphire river has such blue water that it looks like liquid sapphire, hence the name.

As for the Eagles. the only thing i can think of is to move the troopers out of my base and toward yours so that i can get a head start. You're absolutely right on this one, and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm wrong, like so many other people.

I didn't post this in my other reply, but as far as playing the same every time with small variances I think that it would get extremely boring that way. who agrees?
