C&C: World War 3

Recommended Posts

Okay, I'll be honest. I thought that TS totally blew, and I wouldn't include anything except maybe the Hunter-Seeker, and the Orca Carry-all. I could include the FireStorm Generator in the add-on pack for all sides if everyone thinks it would make the game better.

Whatabout the disrupter? that was the best unit in the game... :?

No the rest are ****ty Nod AND GDI units... I mean teh distruptor was useless.... You'd just build a few dozen infantary and they're dead. Not to mention they're expensivley slow.

This coming from Captian Nobody!

I kinda liked the Mammoth MkII. Except it was a big useless bit of junk on a big map. It was far too slow. The bi-pedal robot tanks, like the Wolverine were pretty cool, but it's too futuristic. I liked the Orca Carry-All, it just made so much sense to me.

I like Orca Bomber and the Obelisk of Light :)

They kick ass 8)

The Obelisk is just an old-fashioned Prism tower. Although it was cool how everything except the Mammoth tank took one hit to kill. I thought the Orca bomber was too slow, it never seemed to get where I sent it. Maybe that reflects my skill at TS...

Mammy + Carry-all = fastest tank!

True, and it takes quite a battering too, the mammys hard to kill. You would've taken out half the enemys base by the time hed managed to destroy it....

Of course, there's the fact that it's completely useless while it's up in the air...

The carryall's there to carry the mammy2 across long distances plus theres an intresting trick where you can put another carryall infront of the one holding the mammy and the sams all shoot at the one infront, by the time its destroyed the mammy would of landed.....

Using a copy of rules.ini for RA1, I created a mod with a few of the new units and structures in it. For best results, play on Aftermath. Obviously, cos I don't know jack**** about real modding, nothing is terribly advanced, but I have created units similar to how i originally saw them in

C&C:WWIII.

Soviet:

Missile Tank (replaces Heavy Tank)

Armed Ore Truck

Bomber (replaces Yak)

Allies:

Stealth APC (replaces APC)

Hospital is a prerequisite for training Medics.

ABM Sub

Missile Frigate (replaces Cruiser)

Development Centre (prerequisite for Extermination Troopers, Chronosphere, Nuke Silo and Hospital)

Soviet & Allies

Extermination Troopers (replaces Rifle Infantry for both sides)

Anyone know where I can make my ini file available?

You said that Bomber replaces Yak, how about MiG ? It's a good aircraft, reloads in seconds but it does heavy damage.

And what is ABM Sub ?

Anti Ballistic Missile ?

Yeah. Not quite sure what you were asking about the MiG. Is there anywhere I can post the rules.ini file?

Have uploaded it to this site, just waiting for the webmaster to approve it. I'll let you's know when it's available.

First off, WAY too much redundancy... you called several weapons that are EXACTLY the same (in reality) different names. Thermonuclear devices, atomic bombs, and nuclear missiles are EXACTLY the same. Except that the names are from different eras in which the were at different levels of efficency.

Also, I think that the Bio-Bomb is a great idea, but it would kill everybody, even those in tanks and buildings. Though a N-Bomb wouldn't be much different...

Modified APCs: Great concept, bad balancing. A obelisk at standard strength on a mobile platform? Come on! People would use that to rush the crap out of the enemy base. The Hover Trans is cool though...

Laser Orca: Coool!!!! But, You need a few more Orcas... Vulcan Orca?

Any thing that shoots a nuclear device or warhead: Illogical...

Space War Factory: Rename it dude... Is it space based?

You used WAY too much stealth units...

"Nuclear Containment Facility: This building stores waste radiation from nuclear experiments. This radiation is here cased into missiles." Used nuclear materials CANNOT be used in the construction of bombs, unless you go for a N-Bomb (not sure on its Principals) or a dirty Radition bomb

Whats the Cloak do?

Thunder Dome: COOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heat-Sensitive: Can detect infantry and tanks and planes and boats and farts... and just about everything... Make a control center for these with varing levels of upgrades (EX:

Standard: Heavy Vechs + planes and boats,

Up1: Smaller Vechs + small boats,

Up2: Adv. Stealth Vechs.

Up3: Armored Infantry,

Up4: Unarmored Infantry,

Up5: Unarmed (engineers) infantry.)

Prisions: Who is going to pay ransom in the middle of a HUGE F***ING WAR?!

H-Tank: Replace with Fusion Tank

Fusion Tank: Fires highly accelerated "bullets" of plasma, burn rapidly through armor and virtually anything else. Due to the nature of plasma, the tank fires and concentrates on the enemy target for a bit (Like Chrono Troopers.) to keep the plasma from cooling instantly.

Fusion Power Plant: Can't have those tanks without these! Provides huge amounts of power, works like a Nuclear PP in RA2.

Stealth Yacht: Cool, but should instead look like a civvy vechical

Satillite HiJacker: For Phoenix: When this unit enters a CC for a satillite, once that satillite is ready to be launched again, it is launched but under Phoenix control.

You see, that was the kinda critical response I was looking for. Thanks Sheepe. :D

Ok...

I know that, in reality, nukes, thermo's and a-bombs are the same. I thought that using different kinds of bombs (hence naming them all slightly differently) would alter the power balances for each team. I think I'm as well pointing out now that very few of my weapons are based on reality, in the same way that few of the weapons in C&C/TS/RA2 are grounded in reality.

The Bio-Bomb: A virus cannot pass through solid iron, steel or bricks, so it wouldn't kill everyone in buildings, tanks, etc. But that does sound like an interesting concept - if the person inside the tank dies, the tank no longer functions - could it then be captured by an enemy unit? Definitely worth some consideration.

Obelisk APC: Yeah, I admit it's a little much striking power for the APC. Rushes could be prevented though, by use of mines or intercepting it with aircraft. Alternatively, the price could be increased, and the reload-time/armour/speed ratio can be modified. the Hover trans is really little different from RA2's amphibious transport, but yeah, it's still a cool unit ^_^

Laser ORCA is available in the PATSUX missions of the original C&C. I originally came up with my game concept before the release of TS, and would actually quite like to include the ORCA Bomber and the ORCA Carry-All. Is a Vulcan ORCA not just an RA Hind?

I think for anything that shoots a nuclear warhead, you're referring to my lovely Warhead Tank. I researched this, and a 10kt warhead is can actually be launched from smaller than a 24-inch cannon. In the world of gaming, it's no less illogical than a tank that fires light as a weapon, or the Demolition Truck.

The Space War Factory is so-called because it prepares the MHV, which is then launched into space. I suppose I could rename it something else, but words escape me right now.

Yeah, I did kinda go OTT with stealth units...I just love them!

Nuclear Containment Facility: To my understanding, Uranium-238 and -239 are used in certain power plants. When fission occurs, the uranium is changed into weapons-grade plutonium. It's been a few years since I did chemistry, but from what I recall that is what happens.

The Cloak: This device allows a group of 6-8 units roam the battle field undetected even where firing. Cloaking is invisibility, both on radar and physically. *braces himself for when reality is pointed out again*.

I like your idea for the varied levels of Heat Sensitive up-grades, and would like to try and integrate that into the game.

Prisons: The principle was to obtain a supplementary income. Who pays up is irrelevant, like asking who you sell your ore to when you harvest it, or who you sell your buildings to when you use the sell icon. Hey, what about a system where you can sell units, like aircraft, to your allies?

H-Tank: Replace with Fusion Tank

i think I may just do that, the H-Tank never sat fully comfortably with me. Ditto the Fusion Power plant. Fusion Tank or Rail-gun Tank?

Stealth Yacht: If it looks like a civvy vehicle, where will the 2-Inch cannon fire from?

Satelite HiJacker: Sounds cool, but does it shut the enemies sateltie down for it to relaunch? If it did, the enemy would know about it and could sell the CC, thus removing the HiJacker. What if the Hi-Jacker pirates the feed from the enemy radar?

Thanks for all your contribution. Mod package still not on-site.
