"B-3"

Recommended Posts

I'd appreciate it if ya'll would answer some dumb questions I posess.

I thought the b-1 was the general purpose bomber we have... have no pics to give, but we all know... and then the b-2 was our stealth bomber... right? The flying wing? But it's called the b3 in Zero Hour... and it is NOT stealthed!! This makes no sense to me... can anyone point me in the right direction..?

b3 my ass......theres only the Rockwell B1 bomber and the B2 Spirit.

The Spirit is used for moabs and heavy payloads in real life, as well as teh B-52. B-1 is retired, just like the F-111....

i liked the F-111....it was cool

Yeah, the F-111 was cool...however, you need to research your posts too

"Partial retirement

A total of 100 front-line aircraft were produced at a cost of over $200 million each. After several write-offs, 93 remained by the turn of the century. In 2003 the USAF decided to retire 33 of the B-1Bs to concentrate its budget on maintaining availability of the remaining aircraft, although in 2004 a new appropriations bill called for some of the retired aircraft to return to service. In 2004, the USAF returned seven of the mothballed bombers to service, giving a total force of 67 aircraft, with the rest cannibalized for spares. Five of the seven that were brought back to service went to Dyess AFB in Texas, one to Ellsworth AFB in South Dakota, and another to Edwards AFB in California. In 2005, The Pentagon announced the closing of Ellsworth AFB and the transfer of all operational B-1s to Dyess AFB. However, on August 26, 2005, it was announced that Ellsworth AFB would remain open thus no transfer of Ellsworth's B-1s would occur."

Jeez, Badger, we're the only ones making sure what we say is true :haha:

Yeah Australias primary strike Squadron is based where i live. They use heavily modified F-111s. At the recent war games with America that were held north of Australia last year they cleaned up because the Americans underestimated their capabilities.

Haha, you just wait 'till our F-22s and F-35s come into service

Wont really matter then because the F-111s are going to be replaced with the first batch of F-35s and then our hornet squadrons will be replaced soon after
