Bware it wasnt just a cartoon depiction of Mohammed. It was him dressed as a suicide bomber with bombs straped to his chest on his way to blow himself up. It portrays mohammed as a terrorist and its inferring that all muslims are terrorists. That is far more insulting than the words Jesus is a c*nt which by the way is offensive to the islamic religion also.

Okay, I kinda see what you're getting at... but the cartoon was IMPLYING that all Muslims are terrorists. YOU were inferring.

But still, that shirt I would argue is more shockingly offensive than the cartoon. The cartoon is directly insulting, but the shirt is just horribly vulgar... and that's the whole point of it.

What RKCoon said was right though. It would be similar to a cartoon depicting Jesus as a pedophile which i know i would find insulting where as that shirt not as much.

No i know you iv read all those threads. I just thought it would do me better to stay out of them. Iv learnt that most of the time here its easier to agree to disagree.

I don't get it. Was I freaking out? All I said was that a cartoon depiction of Mohammed is FAR less offensive than that shirt! Why is that so horrible of me to say?

Did I mention you specifically? No, no I didn't. Why must you assume I'm after you? I was speaking in general terms, not directing it anyone. If you used more thn 2% of your brain, you'd have seen that. >_>

It's like that other shirt that was "so wrong." It doesn't really matter. Besides, a lot of people are out there for shock value. Remember the inherent stupidity in all of mankind.

No no, go reread what you wrote. Your post was reacting to people's reaction to the shirt. Since I was the only one that specifically said he was offended by it, and you replied right after me, it seemed pretty obvious that you were responding to me. Otherwise you must have been answering objections that nobody had voiced... Isn't that kinda strange? :?

No question there. People are morons. However, I don't think that as a society we should be so willing to roll over when someone wears something like that. It's good for society to have standards and limits, especially when it comes to decency. In a way, because of that, it really kinda does matter.

Decency? Hats also a matter of perspective, is it not, Bware? Honestly, there are those here that do not exactly consider Christianity, Catholism, or republicans for that matter, to be among the ranks of "decency". i am not personally saying anything of the sort directly, i AM saying, however, that "definition of decency" varies from person to person, and to impose ONE paticularly narrow definition of decency is BEGGING for trouble. me, i tend to take things like religion, drugs and many politics in a les than pleasant way -- but that doesnt mean i will prevent people from expressing about it.

That being said, there are SOME things that most everyone agrees should be met, especially in regards to children and so on, yus?

No, it isn't. Surely you can agree... even someone like you... that there are certain things that are just absolutely indecent and unacceptable in society. If you can admit that (any intellectually honest person will), then you can see the necessity for a line.

Honestly, there are those here that do not exactly consider Christianity, Catholism, or republicans for that matter, to be among the ranks of "decency".

What the hell is that supposed to mean? Are you even capable of defining the word "decency" or making a point with any consistency? Man, your logic just runs free, doesn't it?

Just to set us back on a sane path here, we are talking about what should be acceptable in society (T shirts, etc). To randomly bring mindless generalities about religion and politics into this is just pathetic.... and needlessly inflammatory. Let's try to keep this meaningful and reasonable, k? (it's asking a lot, I know)

That being said, there are SOME things that most everyone agrees should be met, especially in regards to children and so on, yus?

Yes, exactly. Just because there are some varying opinions on what some people consider decent, there IS a line defined by society. It's just the way things work. To not believe it is to not understand how society works.

Yes it does... but it's intetion is not to make them good citizens. It's a strategy from a position of weakness. It instructs them to basically be patient and follow the rules until they have the opportunity to bring the infidels down. It instructs them to "kill the infidels" when they are in a position of power. It's all strategy for their civilization, and yes, it is scary stuff.

Haha. Honestly Bware thats the funniest thing i have seen all day. You were the one calling all those possibilites of governments making money of the War on Terror to be James Bond plots that never happen in real life then you turn around and say this.

Must you constantly be so wrong? How is what I said at all unreasonable? It's the truth dude. It IS smarter to go with the flow and follow the rules when you're not in a position of power. It's actually good wisdom if long-term world conquest is your goal. Otherwise, why WOULD it be so blatantly contradictory? Kill the infidel and follow the laws of your infidellic government? Make sense of that one!

It all comes down to how you interpret the holy scriptures. Most islamic clerics will tell you that its teaching are not one of death to all infadels it is just that some people interpret them that way. Just as many christians Interpret the bible in the same way and in ways it was not ment to be interpreted.

Must you constantly be so wrong?

I have not made any personal attacks unlike other people so i would apreciate it if you did the same.

Hrrmmm.... Comparison here --

a religious prophet (or WTF ever he is) for the muslims orders infidels and those not agreeing killed; some elements of said religion swear up and down they dont follow that part.

a prophet (at LEAST one, from what i gathered, he wasnt the only) for the christians had i nthe past ordered the deaths of millions as well; christians state that they dont follow "that part" of it.

Various scriptures, as i understand it, call for the conversion OR death, no allowances in between, for people into thier religion. this has happened in its history, tho again modern "moderate" elements claim not to practice such.

in some various scriptures in regards to the christians, the same is called -- those that do not wish to follow the faith are to be everything from excommunicated to flat out killed. this has also been practiced in the past, again, modern "moderate" elements claim not to practice this.

BOTH have extremists present in thier ranks, both claim these extremists do not represent thier faith -- yet dont always seem to do much to "control thier herd" when things go well -- for them

Im sorry but this reeks of rancid meat to me. f*cking religions; the bigger ones just seem to refuse to allow true personal freedom, or allow others tolive peaceably.

Shaky knowledge leads to very, very flawed conclusions. Do yourself a favor and do a little research before thinking too hard there RK

Wow, thats the lamest comeback ive heard in a while. pity there is no one that can pass solid judgement on the actions of those that pretend to represent thier religion -- two thirds of the worlds populace would be wiped off the face of the map.

Again, same old song and dance, same old story -- each faction claims to be different from the other, to have different morals, and to obey only some sections of a small collection of books that, in reality, have the same base origins. you can prance around all you want with your weak jabs at those that differ -- but the simnple fact is, placign absolute ant total faith in ONE thing, be it a book, a person, or even a god, will land you in the same place in the end -- the grave. You have obviously passed judgement on me -- allow me to return the favor and state it plain -- you're being exceptionally daft.

:D such fun isnt it?
