Oh cool, a console wars thread

 

When the PS2 released here in NZ it was around the $1000-$1200 mark, when the Xbox released it was around $1000 as well. Fast forward to March 2006 for the Xbox 360 NZ launch and the "newer" technolgy inside the Xbox 360 is cheaper, at around $700.

 

So shouldn't the prices for the PS3 be cheaper than they were in 2001/2002?

 

All you Sony fanboys can bitch and moan all day about this PS3/Xbox 360 war and compare their specs, games and how many little things you can plug into them. But you all know that the Xbox 360 is a great console. I have an Xbox 360 and I'm very please with my purchase.

I watched the Sony E3 press conference. All base pack Playstation 3's will ship with 60GB hard drives as standard. There's no choice in the matter.

Hey King- there IS some choice in the matter. Nobody is forcing you to buy one.

Wow you guys in NZ payed way to much for your xboxes. Not sure exactly what the price conversion was but i thought they were fairly simmilar. we payed $750/$800 for PS2s when they first came out. The xbox started about $400 and when the gamecube came out shortly after they were all at the $350 range.

I'm more suprised that from E3, that Sony have annoucned that over 100 games are currently in development for the PSP.

 

I didn't actually know the PSP was that popular.... Guess Sony aren't doing that bad after all...

Yeah but thats a console system. This is a portable system.

It had a bunch of fancy pansy wrestling games on the game cube which were cool. It also got RE4... RE5 is a PS3 release game by the way... Well not really, but its to be released on the PS3 sometime in 2007...

Well not really. Since the "outbreak" games are part of the RE series, even if they don't advance the story.

 

I need to play RE zero, new fancy grahpics would be sweet.

Gamecube sucked. It had sucky graphics and not that great of games compared to the PS2 or Xbox...

The Gamecube failed but it did not suck. I thought it had ten times better games than the PS2 or Xbox... not to mention the graphics were superior to the Xbox, aka a budget computer from 6 years ago.

yeah graphicly it was way better. The problem was the Game companies didnt use it to their advantage. All the release titles for example only used a tenth of its graphical power. Very few of the titles used what was available.

Offically its not. Since it has a big ass "4" all over it.... Besides if you include all the other games its probably more like number 7 or whatever..
