For almost a year now, we've been seeing Chuck Norris "facts" popping up all over the Internet. Many believe that the Chuck Norris Facts fad has long overstaying its welcome, and it was only a matter of time that we were surely going to see some backlash against this seemingly endless whim.

People get Lawsuits for everything..... even dead children

 

A stonemason last night attacked Disney bosses for banning him from carving Winnie the Pooh on a baby's gravestone.

 

Aaron Clarke was told by the cartoon giant that he would be breaching copyright laws if he used the AA Milne character on the headstone.

 

The baby's parents had asked Mr Clarke to carve the cuddly bear on the grave as a touching tribute. Mr Clarke said: 'It is ridiculous.

 

Disney make billions every year from children, but they won't let a family do this.' Disney has promised to review the decision.

As cold as that seems, Disney really has every right to protect their copyrighted images. I used to work for them, and they ARE nazis about it, no question, but it's hard for them to keep up their product's integrity.

 

Apparently they're reviewing the case though. They'll probably yield in the end, but they're just being protective of their brand.

I've only read the first post, so I may be largely uninformed.

 

The Chuck Norris jokes ... which I assume this is about ... such as,

 

"Chuck Norris once walked down a street with an erection. There we no survivors."

 

... have NOTHING to do with Chuck Norris. A lot of people who recite and laugh at such jokes have no clue who he is. I really don't.

 

He is merely the variable subject of a successful line of jokes. Most of them are stolen from a line of jokes that had Samoa Jones as the subject.

 

"Children are afraid of the dark. The dark is afraid of Samoa Jones."

 

I don't even know who he is.

 

 

 

So, Chuck Norris is to internet jokes as Colin Mocharie is to Animutation. It has nothing to do with who he is, he's just the accepted name, and subject of these jokes that really have nothing to do with him. He could be Micheal Foley and the jokes would probably be the same.
