Renegade 2 would be cool. But you can't call it that for the following reasons.

1) Renegade 2 sounds crap. ;)

2) Renegade 2 was cancelled, it would be weird.

3) Screw the Tiberium Universe, (you'll never hear me say that again) go the way for Red Alert. Just like that mod, that would be cool, specially if they used a fancy engine like from BF2 or the like. :)

It was cancelled yah, but I don't see why that can just start it over with say, the Crysis engine? :P

I don't care what universe it would be in either tbh.

generals was one of there worst games ever ra3 will be next followed by c&c4, renegade 2 wont happen because people still play it but the c&c rts games are ten times more popular and ea want money. if they made ra3 and tied the storylines together hordes of ts and ra2 fans would buy it to find out the storyline.

end of...

Stfu? You spill out crap like it fact, it ain't, its your opinion, so don't try and say it like you positively know. Here, I'll run some facts by you:

Generals was not the worst game, it sold and did well. You don't know what will be next, you don't ****ing work at EA. Renegade 2 will never happen? Like you know, the reason and above and to your EA wants money theory, FPS have and always will sell better than RTS. Renegade was popular it just some bugs and EA rushed Westwood to release.

Tie the storyline? Very, very doubtful.

Not end of story, stfu.

The way I see it EA won't try to produse Rengade 2 till there is big chenge in all fps's game stracture. i mean the construction mod and buildings are almost unique exept games of X-com and Homeworld style.

A.D.D: more likely EA will make Generals 2 than eny RA3.

ok then everybody, ea doesnt want money they want to make all the little children of the world happy buy handing out lollipops and giving away free money, but in the world they are trying to create fulll of love and freedom there is no use for money so they make everything for free even if its crap and they wont make as much money as another game, SARCY

Something new would be interesting. Don't know if EA can do it right but it would be nice. Perhaps they could buy the KKND or War Wind licenses?

I believe the next game will be ra3. The storylines can me intertwined again. Kane must have stolen the chronosphere in ra1, and went to some kind of future hospital every time he had a near death experience. Remember...

I've seen the future, our Tiberium future, and as you watch this battle just beginning to unfold, I've already seen the final act.

So there ya go. And as for renegade 2, people made too many pirate copies and ea made no money. They're not going to make a sequel, especially if people are making APB and Reborn.

Id really like to see CnC 4 or Ren 2.

Im highly doubful that EA will end the Tiberium series with CnC 3. Mainly because of the Scrin coming to Earth in CnC 3. I say that GDI [i know, i know] will beat NOd and the scrin and work to fix the problem that they have yet to fix. Plus [another I know, I know] Kane just needs to die. [gosh i have the feeling hes just watchin me...]

Anyhoo, as for Renegade 2, may be they can do it in the Tiberium series but make it a Halo 3 type of game [some commando all alone in like, a yellow or Red zone]

As for Generals, it was Multiplayer based only. It sold well but had balance problems [mainly in ZH] and didnt have the best community or support for that matter. [not a single EA representative watches the place anymore and people make all kinds of cheat maps]

*phew!

What I want to see next is a another Renegade, but I'm sure a RA3 would follow. As for another Generals, that wasn't a bad game, but it did not belong in the C&C universe, and they should never make another one. They can make similar ones, but no more messing with the C&C storylines. USA/GLA/China? That has absolutely nothing to do with chrono technology or tiberium. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Generals and Zero Hour, I just played it today, I only have a problem with it getting the C&C name slapped on it.

C&C MMO. You talk about epic.

Does EA even really have a MMO?

i very doubt a second generals will be made, but a red alert 3 would be nice, red alert 2 was really popular, just hope yuri will be in it, well obvious he will... he made so many damn clones! renegade was ok, if they made a second i would buy it(simply i must collect all C&C!)

C&C generals vs. C&C tiberium wars

i figure that would be a nice game.... but think of all the balance issues...

Id like to see an RA3, just to ensure that EA takes its time for every game. There will be a Renegade on the UT3 engine, so theres no need for a new Renegade, really.

Btw, SAGE engine, as someone stated earlier, is truly the W3D engine, only updated.

Something i really wouldnt like to see is Generals 2.

No mod will ever gain as much popularity if a company made a game tbh.

Had to register, damn my buddy for linking me here. My fingers started to itch so bad, I couldn't resist registering. :D

Before you go tl;dr, let me summarize: I want to see a sequel to RA1, not a sequel to RA2. Don't get me wrong, RA2 is a good game but a big joke, and the atmosphere in the first game is far superior. Also, Volkov & Chitzkoi pwns anything and everything RA2 can muster. ;)

Anyways. I don't think, and I certainly hope not, that we'll get C&C4 next. C&C3 is still fresh and especially with the expansion pack(s) it'll stay that way. I think EA should start working on RA3. It's been a while now and RA2 was a complete farce. I want EA to make a game akin to the first Red Alert. Basically try to recreate the same kind of interesting, kind of sci-fi but still recognizable world. The Tiberium storyline is far more sci-fi than the RA one, I think everyone will agree. And to me that contrast has a lot of appeal. Red Alert is one of the finest game ever as far as I'm concerned. It's a game with many strengths. I got it for christmas '95, and I still have that same box, twelve years later. :) And I'm still a C&C fan.

A possible third faction in RA3 could be the Asian alliance thingy they mention in the Red Alert manual. Basically, as I see it, to defend themselves against Soviet might the Asian countries banded together and formed some kind of alliance. So I think that for RA3 you could have these three factions; The classic Allies, who use chrono & prism tech, and naval power; the Soviets, who use mass infantry, tesla tech and powerful tanks; and these Asians, who'll probably use advanced bizarre techs courtesy of the Japanese (like humanoid robots and such) plus the more basic approach of the Chinese (numbers!). I think this would make for an interesting mix and an interesting, multi-facetted third faction.

I want units that are more clearly thought through than the ones in C&C3. The problem with C&C3 is that balance is mad. Just try to compare it to the very tightly balanced Starcraft and it just gets bombed back to the stone age. And SC is still played and loved whereas C&C3 has lost a lot of its initial steam (ppl get bored after 3 months). Basically the important thing about balance is that every unit should have a use, a place where it excels, and some kind of versatility. It should feel useful and unique. A problem with C&C3 is that the massive difference between unit types. A unit good against massed infantry totally sucks butt against everything else (heard of the Black Hand?). In Starcraft there is no such thing. A similar unit in SC is the Firebat, which is useful for its splash damage and stim packs. It can deal some damage against vehicles but it really excels against zerglings and such. That's what I want to see. Not total exclusive usefulness but a focused usefulness that has some wiggle room.

The units in C&C3 quite often are too similar and just become overshadowed and forgotten. The Predator and the Scorpion, for example, are the same thing except they look different and have some different stats. The Scrin has a similar vehicle (can't recall its name) that has the added ability to eat tiberium. Now, that's a little extra ability that adds some flavor and tactical opportunities. Good. A simple no-brainer unit upgrade like the Railguns is NOT tactical whatsoever. Any noob and any elite player gets railguns, money permitting. Full stop. A good unit upgrade is the siege mode for the siege tank in SC. It adds range and (splash) damage, but becomes immobile and gets a minimum range. Not nearly as big a no-brainer, and requires some thought to use properly. It can also be countered (for example by dropping units right next to the tanks using dropships). Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not madly in love with SC or anything but everybody knows it so examples work, plus it really IS well balanced.

Another example is the anti-infantry units like the Black Hand and the Grenadiers. How often do people use these? Practically never. It is a much better idea to get units that can take on more unit types, like Pitbulls or the Nod buggy (forgot its name atm). So these "forgotten" units are failures, simple as that. Regrettable, especially since the Black Hand appear to be meant to be strong, elite units. Better units are Shadow Teams, who have some fun uses, or, to a somewhat lesser degree, Sniper Teams, since they can spot for your Juggernauts (they are otherwise pretty much useless).

Well, I digress. Alot.

What's wrong with RA3? Just think about it. A sequel with a style similar to the first RA game. I think it could be really nice.

However, I don't think I want to see some kind of massive explanation and an attempt at merging the Tib and RA story lines. It would most likely fail big. I like the thought that Allied victory in RA1 leads to RA2 while Soviet victory leads to C&C.

I didn't read your little essay, but I read the summary, so yes I agree.

That being said I think the next C&C project will be the rumoured C&C FPS game that is "currently" in development. But of course, RA3 would be nice, as long as they make it more serious, as RA2 was at times so very, very tedious to say the least. Though it doesn't mean they can't take link it to RA2 in regards to some plot ideas and technological advancements.

And of course we have to have some chick wear a tank top bending over all the time. Its REQUIRED! :D:haha:

If you look in the Wikipedia CnC universe box in any CnC article you can se a tib game called CNCX and the article says it will run under the cryENGINE 2, best known for Crysis.

Haha Aexilus you were spot on with this, it's almost as EA had read this before beginning their development of RA3. Everything about more thought through units and abilities and suggesting the Asian Coalition as the third side. ;) It's a shame though that EA is continuing RA2s cartoonish design. :( Btw, I was studying my Red Alert manual yesterday and I didn't find anything about an Asian coalition. But it may be because I got my manual with the C&C collectors box Worldwide Warfare, maybe that includes another manual.

Yeah, I laughed a bit myself now that I re-read it. I really was spot on. I especially like the bit about "versatile units", that's PRECISELY what they're doing with RA3.

Game will be fun anyhows.
