E3Expo

Recommended Posts

For those of you that don't know.. E3 was thought to be canceled abit ago because Nintendo basically owned everyone and took away money from other companies like EA, Sony, Microsoft, and THQ, so they wanted a smaller version of E3.

Okay, they got that. E3 was downgraded. Not too bad except...

Retarded.

Its probably a good idea. Over the past few years E3 has grown out of control and to big. To many things get over shadowed and crap products get over hyped. The entire E3 show lost its direction.

A smaller scale show will be much better.

The point of this was the retarded name.

Sony is just pissed because they got owned. Also, people were making little Geocities sites and got in as media. It was bullcrap. Now it'll be held in a Ramada Inn with a PowerPoint. Doesn't quite have the bang.

Sony, Microsoft, and THQ don't like it up the butt. :P

just a thought, but if they wanted to make it have more variety (i.e. more small companies games, more creativity, etc.), then they could put a limit on the the number of games each company could present.

Just a thought

Nah, E3 don't work like that. E3 has in the past been known to see which company can have the biggest, loudest, booth with the most half dressed reject porn stars as they possibly can. It's wasn't about the games anymore.

As much as any man would like to see loads of babes wandering around, whilest being in awe of the company booth that attracts you most. The main element has been lost. You wanna be able to speak to developers, you wanna be able to ask questions, find out capabilities of a game engine, and compare the year ahead. That sort of stuff, E3 wasn't that anymore. It's Aaron "APOC" Kaufman riding around on a scooter instead of focussing on the game he and his team are trying to market.

This downgrading of E3 will get everything back to basics. A focus on how many guys it takes to create a single character from concept to art, to animation, to in-game. In depth presentations instead of just trailers.

The beneficial thing to come out of this is that the media at least can walk away with more knowledge, and more can get done. If it's a success, then they can look towards increasing it in size again.
