Saracen 16 Posted November 19, 2006 Ok, this is probably a pearoast thread done by someone else not too long ago. But I have to ask this question, as I'm sure your careers advisor asked you in school... Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? I will be 33 then. God forbid if I'm still driving round in a crap car with a crap job. Hell, fear all, I'll have a family to cater and bread-win for. couple of kids, and praise be a miracle a bloody house! Regardless of what happens, at 23, I'm going for a £21,000 a year job as a Health & Safety Operative within a company which specialises acts as the UK's biggest supplier of Safety Nets. Sounds boring, but when ya get to fire projectiles and throw dummies off buildings for a living, it can be fun. The only boring bit will rigging the things. But as an entry position to a company, £21k is damn good money! In 10 years I'd love to be in a managerial position in that same company. Pulling in almost £45,000 a year will be perfect earning money and I might just finally be able to drive round that Honda Civic I've always wanted Better that than still stuck in the Retail sector battling through a crap salary to make ends meet. That isn't me, I want a career with huge earning potential. I didn't slave my ass off at school from the age of 5-18 for nothing! So what about you guys? 10 years? Where do you see yourself? Mario 0 Posted November 19, 2006 i dont wanna be workin for the same company im workin for now but Managerial sounds nice mayb i'll have a Managers job in 10 years *crosses fingers* Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 20, 2006 a very hard question indeed, and i sympathize with you King.. i don't want to be in Retail much longer. at age 20 already and i have expensive taste. also, i cannot deal with the people. sheesh well, this has been a question ive been trying to answer for about the past 3 years, and so far ive come relatively close to an answer. recently ive been toying with the idea of persuing a career as an Earth Science teacher (high school level). ive always loved science and was basically born with a knack for it. if i don't choose to persue that ive also been considering film, philosophy teacher, business admin,or just being a fireman.. one problem i have is that i want to do more than one. i want to experience so many careers. BACK TO THE QUESTION: in 10 years, ill be in my own apartment. most likely i think/hope ill be in the early to middle stages of my life career. ill be in love by then. the rest is undetermined. i remember when i used to ask myself this question i coudlnt picture myself in 10 years, almost like i wouldnt make it that far... Tree 0 Posted November 20, 2006 In ten years I hope to not have to work for the government, or anyone for that matter. I hope to own a web hosting company that uses all proprietary software (Hand-coded cPanel, etc). If that doesn't work, I can fall back on my networking experience or freelance coding. But I'll probably be married, have a couple kids, and be living in northern Maine by the time I'm 35. Share this post Link to post

Luk3us 63 Posted November 20, 2006 10 years, that means I'll be 30.. **** 30, damn that seems old... Well assuming I manage to finished off my degree next year. I'll probably get some kind of e-commerce consultant or something along those lines, (since I'm majoring in e-commerce.) type of job in NZ hopefully, but then you make more money overseas... Meh... It will be interesting to say the least. But in 10 years? Err.. Hopefully same type of job as listed above but further up the corporate ladder. Oh yeah and of me and some foxy bird too. Kids not if I can help it... So yeah, just another faceless suit. Share this post Link to post

Guest Rabbit Posted November 22, 2006 Hah, unless you've already proposed to her, don't count your chickens before they've hatched. Relationships don't ALWAYS go as planned, especially the way you're planning it so far ahead. Share this post Link to post
rEdaSbLood 1 Posted November 22, 2006 a plan indeed you have.. looking to far into the future is something i avoid.. i figure if i look too far ahead i won't be aware enough of what is happening here and now.. Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted November 22, 2006 True, very true. I mean, we are looking into our own futures in this thread. Share this post Link to post

VampireA05 0 Posted November 22, 2006 that why we call it 'plan' regardless if there are plan B or C or D and so on... it just mere guidelines. at least, it will keep track on your progress & achieve ment. "Fail to plan means plan to fail" Share this post Link to post
