C&C 3 Alien Screen Shots

Recommended Posts

Here are four new C&C 3 screen shots from Command & Conquer 3 of the Alien Faction. I think these were originally seen in the scans from the Games for Windows magazine, but now we have them in much better quality.

If you have missed any of the previously released C&C 3 screen shots you view them all in our Screen Shot Gallery.

I still find it remarkable that an alien species with all their technology and knowledge.. Still use harvesters to get their Tiberium... Ok, sure its a flying harvester but still... :P

Perhaps the Aliens have simply adapted to GDI and Nod's way of harvesting Tiberium.

I wonder if their harvesters will be as stupid as the ones for GDI and Nod then. :P

Well as in any C&C game, even Renegade. The Harvester is as smart as the player who's team its on. If you fail to defend it.... well you know the rest.

Why should the Harvester have some sort of advanced AI anyway. It's only objective is to seek out the nearest Tiberium field, collect it and return to base. The player must protect/defend it.

It could be the other way around.

Am I missing the point where Mike Verdu said the Alien's could do some pretty cool stuff with Tiberium. Unless I missed a huge chunk of info here, apart from not being able to die over it and being able to respawn it, is there actually anything else they can do with it?

Verdu's made this point, and I'm kinda left thinking, where's the "cool things"?

Yeah man, they actually look pretty good, but how are they all that different from the other factions?

well, it looks like they can "stargate" around to places, unless Im completely wrong about that last pic,

oh, and they have the blackhole generator, which is basically the nuke in a different form :? .....

hmmm......

well we know they get some kind of ubber bonuses from Ion Storms, EA said as much, and hopefully we'll see some pics of Ion Storms before the game is released

That's probably something that you won't find out until you get the game. Having some surprises is actually a good thing.

Why do you think Tiberian Sun felt like a huge let down after all the delays? We basically found out everything about the game, once it was released the whole community collectively let out a big sigh as if something was missing. Deep down though Tiberian Sun is a true C&C. It just got way over hyped and all it's secrets got let out to early. Would you want that happening to C&C 3?

heck no, but I'm glad I wasnt part of the community back when TS was released, because I LOOVED that game when it came out. In fact, I still do 8)

of course, that was before the WW buyout etc, so I think the community is wandering about the integrity of the storyline as it is as compared to how WW would have had it.

Of course I wouldn't want anything ruined. But my problem now is if Louis Castle and the C&C team follow what Westwood planned, but never wrote down. That means if it's followed even loosely, I, and those who have read that C&C Timeline thread on the Petroglyph forums already know what "could" happen.

And if these verbal plans are followed, the storyline is already ruined for us, cos we know how Red Alert 2 is connected to the Tiberian storyline, and we know the person who was supposed to give the sign to the aliens.

There is a great fear here because some units in C&C 3 already strongly suggest the EA are following the plot Westwood set out for the entire C&C Saga. These units explain the connections between all the games and the storyline as a whole. If this is the case, all I'll be buying C&C for is to fill in the Grey areas. :?

Actually, EA had already completed the acquisition of Westwood well before Tiberian Sun was released. Some people still consider EA the main reason behind Tiberian Sun's mediocre release.

I like suprises, but I think EA could handle it better. They could simply tell us, "hey it's integral to the story and so we're not revealing it any pre-release information - buy the game and find out!"

Surely that's a better way to handle things?

"It is - but stop calling me Shirely!"

edit: harvesters should be dumb - to create tension points and targets of opportunities.

Of course the alien harvester should probably work in reverse and be a seeder... GDi should follow the RA2 soviet model with some sort of weapon, and howabout nod's harvester have stealth capabilities???

All I remember from the interview about the aliens is they can gather more tiberium faster than GDI and NOD and get more for each tiberian shard and they don't need silos so no slio mangagement though to balance it most of their early units are weaker than nod or GDI

plus units could merge with other units like buzzers with tripods

I like the surprise factor

( I think TS was basically done though by the time EA aquired WW, right?)

King - Im not sure exactly what the worry is about the storyline? using old units to tie things in? I've seen some of the stuff at Petroglyph about possible storylines, (one word -- weird) but surely EA has a dirrection to go as opposed to just word of mouth from former WW employees?
