Yes... I've got a hobby. I'm collecting information from the gameplay videos to get an idea of unit costs, abilities and strengths.

 

I have taken the current CNCNZ unit/structure lists from the C&C3 section and added the information. Obviously this should be considered ALPHA stage, I'll update as I see new information; when we get a BETA/DEMO is released; and probably for completions sake - when the game is released. Who knows I may even adjust it with the patches.. cause hey I've got a hobby.

 

Information last updated 2nd March 2007 from the official Demo... Stats taken from the Skirmish Level as there were variance between the prologue and campaign missions. Skirmish is best reflection of the mode we want right?!?

 

All other information is current as of current gameplay videos as of 2/2/2007.

 

Example of difference...

GDI Barracks cost the same but took 10sec to build instead of 5sec in the prologue.

If a mech costs $3000, an engineer costs $500... counterattacks could be an interesting dynamic.

 

I haven't been able to see how much a harvestor load brings in though... so if you consider it takes 3-6 loads just to build an ordinary super-unit...

 

Well I'm guessing this will lead to two strategies... nursing your super-units and a scorched-earth policy as a secondary strategy...

 

So I'm enjoying looking at the unit info. It reaffirms the C&C feel (refinery costs $2000, warfactory relies on power and refinery etc) and veterans can already see potentially new strategies with existing gameplay.

I watched it again, and while they were building stuff at the same time, I'd like to say I'm pretty confident that Nod harvesters bring in $700 credit from a single load of green tiberium. Zee you were GDI in that game weren't you - was it the same for GDI?

 

The 2nd new thing I learned is that 2 salvos of gdi missle squads seem to kill a nod scorpian attack. In a seperate attack, that looked like 8 individual rockets.

The French site had seperate sections for upgrades and superpowers which I can guess the interpretation for but sadly can't speak/read French and although our link says the site is in English and German I couldn't find the switch...

I really liked this one because it shows C&C3 will be the most balanced game ever, under Nod, GDI, & Scrin unit sections... they're all the same!!! Nod and the Scrin get exactly the same units as GDI. LOL! Obviously in the middle of something!

 

The Game replays site however has the most unique unit descriptions with fairly detailed GDI details. They even had the same idea to include the unit costs from the movies, except they did the earlier ones, and I seem to have done the later ones. So I have updated my unit/structure info to reflect their deep-throat knowldege of the game, which because I can't verify it, has to be taken on blind faith. They have some additional information which I cut out of my hobby, so it's worth a look.

I was installing my Win95 version of C&C last night... (it still has the receipt from 1998 when I bought it!) and flicked through the manual while waiting for the 5sec it took to install.

 

Verdu has been talking about C&C3 been fast, fluid & fun in every interview and media release since day one. Early indications are the game is fun, the hype is the game is fluid, and now I can confirm it's fast!!!

 

My manual included costs and build times for the various units, and it was interesting reading after going through and physically pulling the same date from the gameplay previews for C&C3 - have a gander...

 

Ripley's believe it or not...

 

In 1995 a MCV cost $5000 and took 333sec to build but in the near future it will be only $2400 and 60sec. Isn't technological advances great!?!

 

In 1995 a Harvestor cost $1400 and took 93sec... today it's only $1200 and 30secs. Drive away, no more to pay!

 

Refinery's and War factory's both cost you $2000 in 1995 - and they still do today, but we've reduced the wait from 133sec down to just half a minute - a bargin!

 

And with the extra time you'll be punching out those $800 medium tanks... not-at-the-53sec-span those old-school fools put up with, no you can have your keeping-up-with-the-jones, latest-doodad predator tank for just 20sec... comes with air-conditioning, in-car dvd player and a 4c discount fuel voucher!

 

Helipads were cutting edge technology for your Orca way back when, with a $1500 investment and a 100sec waiting list... nowaday's you get four spots for just $1000 and only 20sec to boot!

 

The future is a marvellous place.

 

You can get out there,

and kill them in no time.

Ok well I have updated the first post with the new stats from the Demo mission. Some interesting information there...

 

- Harvesters bring in $2400 per load

- Harvesters pause when you have no more capacity to harvest so that you no longer lose money if you don't have the capacity

- You can max out 99 units in the build cue, and it was great to learn elsewhere that shift+left click on the cue allows 5x of the unit

 

I talked before about fast & fluid gameplay... a full mcv costs $2500 and a harvester brings in $2400, a mammoth tank is the same price. You can see how you can tech up quickly and amass large armies for a 15min game, but it's kinda cheating IMHO.

 

I can see already a 'realism' community patch or a C&C1 balance patch coming in the works already... ;)

 

It's good to see the Ion Cannon is still pretty, but not quite the base killer from the Prologue mission.

Added build cues for GDI & Nod

Sorted by unit costs, build cues, abilities and support powers

 

It was interesting to discover how many units are unlocked by simply building a war factory, or that the first base defence building can be built before a barracks once a power plant is up and running.

 

For instance as soon as you build a war factory you have access to a MCV - which I think is redundant in this game with surveyors/emissaries.

 

Maybe there should be a greater distinction between the two... like a MCV can build other production buildings but a mini-mcv can only build support tab structures?

 

I would have prefered upgrades, research abilities, and unlocks to be more evenly spread around. Although they probably already are in logical places.

 

A harvestor costs you $1000 but brings in $2400 each load. That's really out of whack!!!
