F15pilotX 4 Posted February 3, 2007 Due to the outcries of the community, EA decided to implement a new innovative way to jump-start expanding or rushing your opponent. Built from the Construction Yard, these vehicles can go around the map and deploy anywhere, simply giving you build radius way out yonder which you can then build on. Also known as the Mini-MCV.Price: 500 Buildtime: 12 I just saw this, and really like the idea of it. Anyone else have thoughts on it? This calms one of my concerns about the cames, that of not being able to expand quickly and flank the enemy; I'm very happy about the unit, but wanted some feedback on how you guys like the idea of it. Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted February 3, 2007 Oh I've read this, it actually said Due to the outcries of Gamereplays.org and the noobs within our forums, EA's hands got tied and were forced to implement an old IP not used in a long while in an RTS. To satisfy the rushers and force the turtlers out, there is now a way to jump-start expanding or rushing your opponent. Built from the Construction Yard, these vehicles can go around the map and deploy anywhere, even just outside an unsuspecting turtlers base. By simply giving you build radius way out yonder which you can then build on. Also known as the Balance destroyer or n00b killer. Yep, they've ****ed the multiplayer right up now. The one thing I tried to call upon to was to capture tech buildings and allow expansion that way, but no. Now, anyone who has no faith in multiplayer, isn't gonna get it back anytime soon. This is a move to satisfy the so-called hardcore pro. It defies anyone who turtles by giving a one up to the rusher. I may be a rusher myself nowadays, but this is a totally incorrect move and I for one do not support it!! Share this post Link to post
cnc_sage 0 Posted February 3, 2007 Not really new, cause you can build a base expansion vehicle in the Yuri's Revenge mod CannisRules. Might prove useful in TW as well, Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted February 4, 2007 Hmm... I don't know, seems to me like it'll just be an annoyance having people build little mini bases right beside tiberium patches and the like.. Meh. Share this post Link to post
Azrael 0 Posted February 4, 2007 It just decreases tactics. It forces rushing, and turtlers will have a whole lot of trouble at the start of a game. Not fair. Share this post Link to post
Mario 0 Posted February 4, 2007 i agree and dont like it at all i certainly wont be playing agaisnt other people online unless they are from here Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted February 4, 2007 This is the compromise to please those idiots who all cried that C&C was returning to the true traditional MCV/Construction Yard build method and not the Generals dozer method. However I can see it being used to an advantage. But yeah it mostly came from the Gamereplays.org crowed. The same people who tried to convince the rest of the community that watching boring replays of multiplayer games was the future of the C&C community or something. Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted February 5, 2007 It could be easily fixed by having mini-mcv's as an option in the setup screen... just like repacking mcv's, building of ally's base or short game. I guess someone could make a simple mod for it... It would have been nice to have it out, but it's not a big issue to have it in. I like your translation King... you should work for the UN. -gben Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 7 Posted February 6, 2007 **** the Gens and ZH noobs trying to make TW a new Generals.. Share this post Link to post
Guest Rabbit Posted February 6, 2007 I hate it how there's those who WANT it to be like a new Generals, and then there's the opposite who complain, thinking it's too much like generals. Share this post Link to post

Sorry, but everything doesn't have a nice median to it. You have to sacrifice and compromise on a lot but this is one thing they shouldn't of have. What I don't get is they already had the crane crap to please them. That was ENOUGH to keep a happy median between both the veterans and the gens/noobies. now they're just favoring the "pros"... dapperdan 0 Posted February 8, 2007 This has to be one of the stupidest things I've heard of in this game. What's wrong with just building another con yard and setting up shop somewhere else when you have enough money to expand, and not just running a 'surveyor' around and building a turret here and a turret there at the beginningof each game. One word - Pointless. Share this post Link to post

One word - Pointless. It's a minor point, but I believe the mini-mcv can only be deployed once, and can't be repacked and sent somewhere else. Which is basically the same as a zerg drone. -gben Share this post Link to post
dapperdan 0 Posted February 9, 2007 So with the addition of the mini mcv and the surveyor doe sthat mean u can no longer buy a standard mcv? (i gather the mini mcv replaces the normal mcv in the war factory) I used to get a sense of acheivement once i spent 3K on a new mcv and allowed expansion elsewhere, like i'd managed to stay in the game long enough to be able to begin conquering the map. Gben 20 Posted February 9, 2007 No sorry if I'm not clear, each side has the traditional $3000 MCV, and a mini-mcv which can only be deployed once like a zerg drone. For Comparison - MCV costs $2400 and 60sec to build - Mini-MCV costs $500 and 12sec to build GDI's version is the surveryor Nod's is the emmisary Scrin is unknown to me The mini-mcv concept was the compromise for dozer fans, but the traditionalists feels it's too much of a compromise for the classic gameplay of C&C. I'm just hoping that it can be an option that can be turned off in the game setup - that would be the ultimate compromise! -gben Share this post Link to post
dapperdan 0 Posted February 9, 2007 Ah, fully understand now. Still a stupid idea though, takes the fun away of working up the tech tree and ur acquiring funds for base expansion. Share this post Link to post
