Play as Nod from the Start!

Got this from the official forums:

 

go to the skirmish screen (duh!) then click on the army combo box for your name (it has GDI preselected...) now click on NOD and nothing will happen, but now press your N key on the keyboard and now you have NOD selected :D

 

you can do the same to chance the computer's army to gdi by pressing G instead. thus N = NOD, G = GDI.

 

You can also change the AI PERSONALITY. Don't bother choosing the SCRIN because they are not in the demo at all.

 

Lets go nukin!!!

Thats fair enough I think. Its not officially part of the demo and if requested by EA I would remove all references to this exploit from the forums as well.

 

But what harm is there testing out Nod this way :wink:

Well there's a good reason to go home tonight then!

 

(It's amazing that such a simply trick can unlock Nod, and even more amazing that they didn't want us playing it in the skirmish in the first place. Shakes head...)

You can also change the AI style also. Turtler and I think rusher are available also.

 

For some reason on hard with the turtler option I got utterly smashed... So much for a turtle.

I think EA should just release a patch now to remove the restriction from the menu... seeing as the cats out of the bag!!!

 

It's not like it's a coding rewrite or a mod... when you consider it's a simply as pressing a keyboard button...

 

Does anybody know if this was accidently discovered or found by a process of trial and error?

 

(At least now I can update my nod info for my hobby as well!)

Can't try it right now, but I wonder if pressing the first letter of the other factions unlocks them....

No. You can select them in the menu, but when you launch the game it starts with no units. And you are 'defeated' within moments.

 

It does have scrin logo in radar, and colour scheme seems to change for it though...

If that were the case though and you could play the Scrin, the whole purpose of getting C&C3 would be ruined. Save for the campaign and other skirmish maps.

And the multiplayer aspect. Youd be fighting the AI the whole time
