why can't i play tiberium sun online!

I am having problems playing tiberium sun online with people who have the first decade. Do I have to buy the first decade to get it to work or is there a workaround

Have you updated Tiberian Sun to the latest version? If not grab the patch from http://www.cncnz.com/files/tibsun/patches.php

You must have installed a mod or something and did not properly uninstall it.

By the way, I cant play Tiberiun Sun online. I have the stand alone game. It says i must have a serial. I pt a serial when I installed it. Any help guys

No they don't still make patches for this game..

 

Also your serial could have been banned for cheating or the like. Visit http://strike-team.net as they deal with servers and the like, also ensure your game is patched up.

This basically means you have a different version to the persons game you are trying to join. This can happen from having a mod installed, or even a few files left over from a mod you have removed, although you have stated you don't have any mods. So i'm going to assume you have selected the FireStorm option from the main startup screen and the other person has selected Tiberian Sun or vice versa, this will also result in the version incompatible error.

 

The brains behind XWIS decided that both FireStorm and TS will use the same lobbies, making it impossible to tell who is using TS or FS... The majority of people will be using TS online however so it's best to just load up TS... the days of FS online died many years ago.
