How the in the **** does someone that young get that big? I mean, it doesn't just happen overnight. That kind of weight takes years. Surely the parents would have seen that something was amiss when she was still five! I was going to try to make a point that some other countries might have a higher percentage of overweight people relative to their total population, but none could beat the US for total number of obese people. But then I crunched some numbers and saw that several countries have more obese people than the US. (Heck, China has more fat people than the entire US population.)

 

 

The U.S. weighs in at No. 9, with 74.1% of those over 15 years old considered overweight. But given that its population is nearly 20,000 times that of Nauru, clearly the U.S.’s size belies it rank.

 

Same can be said of a lot of these countries. Lower overall %, but more obese than the US.

 

Oh and SS was right, France is fatter than us.

I don't go by the number of overweight people, I go by the proportions of them compared to the total population, as I take it you don't.

If you don't like it, PROTEST IT. Hell, first thing I'm doing when I get some time off when I'm older is sitting on some government property protesting government spending. Military, senators, etc. Stay there for maybe couple hours a day for a week and I might gain a few supports, who knows, it might grow.

 

*shrugs* I guess it's true one person can't do much, but then just organize a couple, get some hippies that just like protesting, even if they support what they're protesting, they'll protest it.

 

But I really hate the "problems? Let's leave!" thing. Canada and every country round the globe has problems. And problems are meant to be solved.

But TSBO is right. America was made so that you or anyone else could have a say in what goes on. That is a reason why alot of people come here. Their countries are not republics or democracies like it is here. Abandoning a problem will never help fix it.
