drunkill 2 Posted July 18, 2007 Thanks for the news Sonic. The effect is still a WIP (as i type) it's being altered, I guess we'll post a newer video in the next blog with a close to final effect. We just need to rig some final bits and bobs and get them ingame, then Beta is ready for a final test and a release. Share this post Link to post
drunkill 2 Posted July 18, 2007  yeah it's been a bit longer then we anticipated, but we've had trouple rigging and animating a few things, and since exdeath quit both APB and reborn we have noone who can rig on our team = lucky the AR guys are helping out in that department. So it'll be out soon. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted July 18, 2007 Is this the version that will be able to be run stand alone or am i thinking of something else? Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted July 19, 2007 Probably something else, as this one has been stand-alone for a couple of versions at least. -gben Share this post Link to post
drunkill 2 Posted July 19, 2007 The current version (9935) has been 'standalone' you still need some of the files form renegade but if you direct connect you can just have the mod. but Beta will be fully standalone, with all the files needed included in the installer. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted July 19, 2007 Ah yep thats what i was thinking of. My squad was looking for something we could move onto to improve our skill by getting some practice in a different environment so being fully standalone this could be a possibility as we don't all have renegade. PunWisp 0 Posted July 19, 2007 this a real game or some time of super mod? Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted July 19, 2007 It's a total conversion of Renegade to RA1. It could have been a real game if EA had half a brain to think to make it. But I have to say I don't think EA could have done as good a job as these guys. Share this post Link to post
PunWisp 0 Posted July 19, 2007 better game designers, but they rush, if blizzrd made it it be awsome Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted July 19, 2007 drunkill, will you guys include all the maps in this version you need to play in the official server? I think it's kind of redunant to run maps that you don't include with the mod in the official server. I know, n00bs can go download them, but then again... They're n00bs. Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted July 19, 2007 One thing i like about APB is the improved, more realistic nuke. It is way stronger than Nod's nuke in Renegade and you can't buy signal flares. That way nubs can't whore nukes to blow something up. Share this post Link to post
