Romanian Convict Sues God

Recommended Posts

A Romanian convict doing time for murder tried to sue God for breaking the contract they allegedly concluded at his baptism and not doing enough to protect him from Satan. The public prosecutor turned down the case -- because God does not have a home address.

...

The plaintiff cited five paragraphs from the Romanian criminal code describing the crimes which God had allegedly committed, including fraud, breach of trust, abuse of a position of authority and misappropriation of goods. God had not fulfilled his side of the contract, Mircea claimed, because he had accepted prayers and sacrificial offerings without providing any kind of services in exchange.

Why is it, when people say they're talking to God its fine, they're not crazy. But if he talks back to them then all of a sudden crazy?

I mean they were already crazy to start with anyway. :P

There was a British film called "The man who sued God" which ran along some similar lines. What's funny is that he probably watched the movie as well, cos in the film, the guy who sues god actually wins! :haha:

Yeah, that's the film I'm referring to. I must have thought it was British cos it had Scottish comedian Billy Conolly starring as the lead character. My mistake.

He must have done that film when he was on his tours of Australia and New Zealand.

Nope, Billy Connolly was born and lived in Scotland most of his life until 1991/2. After he took America by storm. At which he moved to Los Angeles and spent 14 years living there. In mid 2005 he sold up his house and moved back to Scotland. And ever since he splits the year between a house he bought in Malta and an estate in Aberdeenshire.

His wife is New Zealand born. As a resiult his family often visits Austrailia. I remember him being quoted somewhere as Austrailia being one of the countries he loves most for it's culture, history and mystery, but one he would never live in. And afterwards, travels to New Zealand because of his wife's roots.
