I was thinking... Will Master Chief die in Halo 3? I mean, it was said in the Halo 3 - Believe site that, well, Master Chief received all UNSC medals except the Prisoner of War medal... Does that mean he received the Purple Heart or an equivalent, meaning he was KIA?

What's your opinion on the matter?

You're saying The Flood or a Covenant Brute LITERALLY chows down Master Chief? Or figuratively... As in smash him with a hammer or tentacle-whip him to death...?

lol.. Yeah could have phrased that better. But killed by either bunch, in some dramatic and heroic fashion, you know something along the lines of saves the universe and beyond but sacrifices himself in the process.. Something nice and grand.

Or Caboose from RvB kills him by accident. :P

Based on the awesome trailers that shows the museum of humanity with the Jonh-117 monument dedicated to the final battle that took place 50 years after the conflict. I'd say he dies. It's clear already that the human race comes out on top and wins the war.

He had to be the man who took his own life against the Covenant to save humanity.. Afterall at the end of Halo 2, he says he's "Finishing this fight" ;)

I'm no Halo fan, but I love the videos. If you haven't seen, go watch:

He dies. MS needs to end Halo on a good note, and not drag it out. That's what they're doing. There is a huge fanbase and Halo is really popular. They don't want to give themselves the opportunity to screw up.

they're either gonna do that or try and set it up for another series involving another character :P

Halo 3 is only the end of this story arc. There will be more Halo games from Bungie.

Let me just say this, we may not have seen the end of the Master Chief

They'll kill him. IF they make another Halo game, I'd expect it to be an add-on to the exsisting story, like "The secret battle no one knew about" type of thing. Oh yeah, and it'll be an RTS

You mean like C&C?

If it brings in money, while kill a successful franchise? Companies have learnt to milk the cash cow until it it's dead. But then, why not flog a dead horse for the next 10 years, hoping it still gives off some activity.

Master Chief is still alive. He and Cortana are drifting in space, and Cortana activated a distress signal. To quote Master Chief's final line:

Wake me... When you need me.

In Legendary mode, it shows a sequence drifting toward the night side of a planet, with apparently city lights on the surface.

I was trying to explain that without giving away the ending.
