Best Air Defence Against Scrin

When playing GDI what is the best air defence against Scrin when it send it's planetary assault carriers and the warship ? I find the Zone troopers can do some damage but it's never enough. The GDI Air Defence towers can't penetrate there shields. I've been playing using the the newest c&c Retarded mod with the snipers that fire EMP bullets.. Those I get a kick out of.

lol.. The retarted mod is kinda odd really, I mean basically everything can kill air, and a lot of stuff is really odd. :P Fun though.

 

As for normal games, just send up some firehawks they deal with carriers rather well.

Yup. Or a wave of Mammoth Tanks. Whichever you prefer. However, for Nod, I find that Vertigo Bombers are excellent for stalking Scrin aircraft, and also for hit-and-runs, but Venoms still make the Scrin aircraft fubar. :twisted:

Mammoth Tanks are too slow, and firehawks often get damaged by their own missiles (or did that get fixed in a patch, dunno). Venoms just plain pwn the skies, they're cheap and don't need docking.

 

I also think the rear AA turret on the vertigo is largely underestimated. It does about the same damage as a non-upgraded venom.

I tried all these suggestions and they work great. However playing against them using the mod on the hardest setting with turtle personality is just impossible.. I cannot see any way you could build fast enough to fight them off and if you did how to keep them off. You fight off the first wave and then it sends in wave after wave. It's never ending. You can't pump out enough units fast enough or even generate that kind of cash that fast. You would have to have like 10 airships and pumping out like 10 avatars/stealth tanks at a time..Even then I don't know if it would be enough.

I can't think of a solution, as I never tried that mod... Or any mod for C&C 3, in general... :?

I found out if you can hold off them off and build up a good defence then your mammoth tanks and mostly juggernauts will get rid of any Tripods. The computer sends in the Tripods ahead and has the ships close behind. Then it will slowly crept forward. By this time it's in range of my air missiles and they wipe out the scrin ships. However I had to use GDI and Scrin air missiles along with the firehawks to really fight off the ships.

 

The thing is I have not learned how to fight them off and still build up a defence fast enough at the same time. I had to use the plasma force shield to protect my units till I was ready to face them.

3 APC's with rocket fellas in them can easily kill scrin aircraft..

 

I just think scrin has the best AA in main..

Nod has the best AA, stealth tanks, laser venoms and decent SAM sites.

Mammoth tanks and/or a group of APCs with rocket squad + a few pitbulls. If playing Nod, stealth tanks and/or lots of venoms. Firehawks are also useful in certain situations.

GDI AA Battery = Useless...

 

They are only useful against Venom I guess...

 

Nod has some strong defence against Scrin's Air Supremacy but not GDI...
