Regarding Tiberium, I agree, it would be a HUGE letdown if there was no C&C Mode, and the same if only GDI was playable for multiplayer...make one of the mistakes, and EA would lose fans, but if both were made, there wouldn't be much hope for the game.

It's nice to hear people still are enjoying the classic C&C games, but wait, if they didn't, would this website exist?

And imo, we've seen very little from Tiberium. They're probably making another diesel Scrin-vaporizing gun for a Nod player too. It will probably be GDI vs Nod with CPU Scrin attacking both sides.

lol...and GDI and NOD helping each other eh? :P

But man, if EA could include both those elements I mentioned above, that would be amazing :D

Is it me or is there a fairly negative vibe overall in this rountable?

No it's not just me, I just looked at the questions again - they all tend to lead into criticism rather than compliments.

Maybe something to keep in mind for next ish... more warm fuzzy questions!

:)

People participating in the Roundtable feature are reminded that they should be honest and up front. Don't sugar coat anything. If they feel the need to be controversial or outspoken so be it. I don't want kiss-*** answers to the questions. So if they come off as negative answers that's not my problem.

APOC has already e-mail me his feedback about Roundtable #5, he said....

.....always a pleasure reading these RoundTables. I always feel they represent the greater opinion of the hardest core of the C&C community so it definitely gives me a good pulse on what you guys are thinking at the moment. Keep them up!

And incase some one asks. Yes question 5 was added at the last minute because I couldn't think of anything else ;)

Relax Sonic - I'm not disputing the answers, just making comments on the questions.

Like the episode of "Yes Minister" where a series of questions in a survey causes a definite response at the end of the survey - which is published in the newspapers the next day.

You should have included what Apoc said about me in the 2nd Paragraph... Just so you know guys he wants to threaten a Tiberium Meteror at me.

Glad you guys are generally in favor of the recent things you've seen

regarding Kane's Wrath, good to hear. I only planned to target my

Tiberium Meteor at Saracen, the rest of you don't have to worry about

that =)

My reply is simple:

You know I like to hit a nerve Aaron, I've got to address with a critical eye somewhere in this community. As they say every Ying Needs a Yang. You know why I'm like this and it's not my fault. But hey, at least your CEO finally admitted closing down Westwood was a mistake. So now maybe I'll finally sleep a little better at night..

But hey what you gonna do... I don't see that meteor yet?

Ciao

I love being the ***hole in this relationship! :P

I've only recently (since APB) tried Renegade online, and I have to agree, C&C mode is pretty awesome...

It would be awesome if C&C mode would be the default, although I think EA will opt to not use it as default.

If C&C mode would not be included in Tiberium, modders will somehow add it.

But this will most likely take months after release and it will be even more difficult to get a widespread usage of the mod.

Ahw! The answers to the last question could be better! Why didn't anyone mention SunAge . That game is refreshingly different from other RTS games, with everything being about gameplay. And the crispness of the graphics... RA2-style! It's been released in the US just 2 weeks ago, for me it's a must-have (so what are you waiting for? Go to GamersGate and get the game). Reviewers complained a bit, because online play wasn't working at release, a patch is slated for tomorrow. Online play problems happen to the best (C&C3 release, anyone?). B)

To bad I can't edit the RoundTable answers :unsure:

I once had a game Named SunAge... I then sold it on eBay.... to quote a small review I did on it when someone asked me about the game:

It's plagued with bugs, certain path finding issues, and on many occasions the triggers for the campaign are so closely put together (or get accidentally activated) that you hardly have any time at all to react to what's going on. This makes even the first mission an absolute Son of a Bitch to work with.

For example, my base gets torn apart by the enemy... I am then tasked with getting the base up and running, and so begins the construction tutorial. But before I've even established how on earth I'm supposed to place my first structure to begin mounting my defence... the AI goes into spam-a-tank mode and is already hammering what pointless defence I have still standing. I sit in disgust as the AI tears through what little of a base I have left, and within no time at all, it kills my hero unit, failing the mission. I try again, then again, and again, only to get the same result every time! Until about my 6th attempt.

So yeah, it needs a lot of work, because even though that mission is possible (providing you don't actually activate a trigger you shouldn't have beforehand) it can be done. But then the other missions afterwards involve serious amounts of resource collecting, and there usually isn't enough of the most important resource around to sustain or even get you to your objective.... So most of the campaign pisses you straight off before you even get a chance to blink!

But while the voice acting is on par with some other RTS games, and the 2D artistry and animation is absolutely beautiful this game still lacks a tremendous amount of polish and fails miserably, and it kills this game dead!

Unfortunately the cons heavily outweigh the pros, and within an hour of playing this game, it got uninstalled and put on the shelf until a half decent patch can come out to fix at least half the damn things wrong with this game. I didn't think I'd find an RTS worse than C&C 3 in 2007, but this takes the crown as the biggest pile of crap for a game last year. While I'd only give C&C 3 about 63%... SunAge gets a resounding...... 37%!

Enough said.

It sat on a shelf gathering dust for a while, but even after patches were brought out "apparently" fixing the issues that I had problems with, the game still had way too many problems... So short of giving it the sledgehammer followed by blowing it up with some home-made explosive... it went on eBay and got sold to someone who I hope is having more fun with it than I had. The game is different, but it's not refreshing, it's hugely frustrating!

Which version did you use? 1.01 or 1.05? I've only played v1.05, and am quite fond of it. But I've been told that 1.01 was unplayable. So my guess would be that you've been treated to the original release version.

More high hopes of Saracen for a game dashed into the ground :o. On the other hand, my hopes for Universe at War were seriously hurt by the beta. And then the demo... which was a step back even from the beta. The beta doesn't have to be perfect, and was OK for a beta. But releasing a demo in that state... I won't buy a game like that. Much less wait for a January release in Europe...

Not to mention that the beta didnt get a patch and people are waiting since Dec. for a retail patch.
