The Sweep of History – The Origins of the Kane’s Wrath Storyline

It's Monday afternoon, the office is quiet and I'm sitting here in my lavishly appointed hex, waiting on a build and pursuing what has become a favorite hobby over the last few months - gazing blankly at my whiteboard and attempting to determine what the barely comprehensible scrawlings that adorn it actually say. In most cases, this is beyond hopeless, but one sentence keeps popping out at me from the multicolored murk…

"The sweep of history"

…written in bright red, underlined multiple times. Accompanied by a blue blob that I think is meant to be CABAL and perhaps the worst drawing of Joe Kucan known to man.

In other words, it looks important, and, well, it is.

Why?

To find out, we need to journey back to the halcyon days of mid-2007 and the very beginnings of Kane's Wrath.

lol... That didn't really tell us much we didn't already know. Minus the bit about the demise of poor old Slavick.

I sense a whole bunch of "they killed off Slavick?!?!?" posts coming.

Because C&C3 starts with nod already at full strength and on the offensive I keep forgetting that the universe finishes with GDI victory in TibSun. My faulty memory has Slavik working with GDI and securing his position of strength ala Romanov in RA2. So it's surprising that he gets killed off in the way described. The pressures of work... ;P

Still in the cutthroat world of Nod - we really shouldn't be that surprised that Slavik fell on his bad times and was 'fired'.

But he was a charismatic character, and the C&C universe is poorer in his absence, his character deserves a more fitting and dramatic end. Apart from Kane & Cabal, Slavik would probably have to be the next fav character from TibSun - so it's a shame that EA couldn't find a way to make his character to work in KW.

(I mean they could have somehow integrated Cabal and Slavik's characters into a new fused Cyborg - and then used a new actor to get around the actor issues!)

R.I.P. Slavik :skull:

Slavik deserves a better end than an IntelDB entry :(

Most likely just a screencap from a TS FMV as I can see.

I'd be happy with a slavik cameo in the intro... but it seems easier to intro with marcion, and some generic

"Nod is in chaos..." narration and b-roll.
