New EU General Unveiled - Salvo

You can unlock him by playing, you know...
  2. Last month, gamescom, one of the biggest gaming conventions of the year, took place and with it, CommandCom. I, Alex06 of CNCNZ.com, was lucky enough to have EA fly me to Germany to participate in this massive community event. During said event, we met and talked with developers and our fellow community leaders (Official C&C and C&C fansite admins, staff and forum moderators), played the latest build of the upcoming free to play Command & Conquer game, took part in feedback sessions with the developers and went on a boat cruise, notably. As a result, I have produced a report to share my experience with you. But that's not all - This report not only contains details about my 3 and a half days in Cologne, Germany, but also new and exclusive information about the next C&C game and its development, which you won't be able to find anywhere else! More after the break. Here's a short snippet: Click this link to read the entire report.
  3. The famous Tiberian Sun Rising mod for C&C3 is making the news again. After a rather long hiatus, development has picked up again and this latest news update focuses on the Firestorm Defense System and the Nod Subterranean APC. You can read the entire update by clicking here.
  4. As with the release of the first 4 EU themes by CNC-Inside 2 weeks ago, the next Command & Conquer's main theme has been uploaded to YouTube. You can listen to this track right below: This song plays in the game's main menu. The first part plays after entering the game, while the 2nd part, which starts when the background image switches, plays continuously after the first part ends.
  5. I honestly thought this theme was going to be in the game, perhaps as the main theme, because it sounds like the first General's main theme (but somehow more "orchestral", as if they took the original track and remade it to sound more like a movie track): And that this perhaps would somehow make it into the game's menus:
  6. "This game picks up ten years after the first Generals" I thought it was only 3? Campaign description says 2023, Generals takes place in 2020. The original Generals 2 was 10 years, though.

    CommandCom 2013 Report by Alex06

Thanks! I feel it's been great to meet everyone, too. Nyerguds, Koen, and you were lots of fun to hang out with, it felt like having a little PPM IRL meeting haha.

    CommandCom 2013 Report by Alex06

    1. It did, but that was not the problem. The problem was I couldn't open the website on their computers from the computer room, neither on mine, and it wasn't easy to transfer files from my laptop. After I bought the ticket from the website through starbucks' wi-fi, it was sent to my e-mail and I downloaded it to my PC. Since I can`t access the printer from my PC and can't access my e-mail from the hotel's wi-fi or computers, I had to use my portable hard drive, copy the file from the PC onto the drive, then connect the drive to one of their PCs. When I tried to access the hard drive through their PCs once it was connected, it loaded the contents very slowly, so it took a while to open the document. Then, I finally printed it. Took me 2 or 3 good hours to get this simple thing done. 2. Yeah, some features need much better readability. StarCraft's features have great readability, unlike this games'. 3. Yeah, this is a necessity for any franchise developers. Glad to see it was the case for them. 4. I...did not know that. Interesting. 5. Mr. Nyerguds, why, whatever, do you mean? 6. YES. Definitely should do that. 7. I'm surprised to hear that, I found you to be a pretty funny, goofy guy. You definitely seemed very sociable. 8. Yeah, kind of. Overlords and Warlords are a bit too strong. 9. Nyerguds Seal of Approval ahahaha nice! 10. Just as I warned them it would haha 11. Yeah, I used my secret portable chronosphere.

    Battlefield 4 System Requirements

    3GB Graphics memory?! Daaaaayyuuum.
  10. I actually liked it. Given that the old Generals music fits well for the other faction, this feels different and fits the EU. As long as they keep the original style of the other factions' music or do something similar, but with a different style, that's fine.
  11. The staff from CnC-Inside have released 4 of the EU tracks from the upcoming Command & Conquer game. To listen to the other 3 tracks, head on over here.
  12. It's compllicated, but no, we're actually allowed to share these. Check your PMs.
  13. No need to get aggressive, mate. I think he meant to say he wanted either more music from the new game to listen to, or he wanted to listen to the main menu theme, which kasian didn't manage to extract, because he couldn't find it. (Yes, he extracted it from the game)
  14. The Deep Impact mod for Zero Hour is back on the news again. Deep Impact is a total conversion mod set more than 30 years after the events of Zero Hour. It adds four new factions to the game. This update focuses on 2 of the infantry for the WEA faction, the Pretorian Guard and Swarm Controller, which are a division or rather, subfaction of their own, called the Knights of Saint Peter. There is also a detailed back story with this update, plus some bonus renders. Click here to read the news update.
  15. Command & Conquer: Rewire is a mod for Yuri's Revenge that will bring Tiberian Sun into the Red Alert 2 engine, but with new features and a graphical upheaval. New screenshots have been released of this mod, showcasing Nod units, the original temperate tileset from Tiberian Sun and some GDI, Nod and civilian structures. Click here to visit the mod's gallery and see all of the screenshots released.
  16. Not sure either. It does seem odd to have railguns on an artillery mech.
  17. Version 1.52 of Tiberium Essence is still in development. However, new units, structures and upgrades have been revealed for this upcoming release; Nod will receive the Toxin Trooper and GDI will be able to build Firestorm Generators. GDI will also receive a Railgun upgrade for the Juggernaut and a frontal tread armour upgrade for the Mammoth Tank. Click here to visit the mod's gallery and see all of the new screenshots. Additionally, the mod's soundtrack has been released, containing new tracks made mostly by Vlado32. You can download it here.
  18. The Twisted Insurrection team has released a new screenshot of their Tiberian Sun mod, which is a preview shot of Nod's 14th campaign mission. Also showcased in another new screenshot is the new GDI Dropship, which is based on C&C3 concept art. For more information, you can visit their page over at ModDB alongside their website. You can also see more screenshots over in their image gallery.
  19. The team behind Tiberium, the RA3 mod aimed at bringing back the post-C&C3 Tiberium Universe, has released a new screenshot, showcasing the Nod Beam Cannon. To see the rest of the mod's image gallery, click this link.
  20. More news from the Zero Hour mod Rise of the Reds. The next version will have a graphically overhauled Russia faction, which will also receive a few units. The latest news post, which is accompanied by a short story as usual, showcases three new vehicles: the Shilka, Tunguska and Grumble. To read the entire news update, click here.
  21. Tell that to the dev team by posting about it on the official alpha forums. I myself have a few issues I'll post once I get to play it a little more. (notably the perk system)

    C&C Logo Font

Sweet, this should be useful for custom logos for fansites and for mods! Thanks, mate!
  23. Actually, me and Sybert were fooling around. We were kidding when we were talking with JVC and Sybert said we have to pay for premium before being able to pick our player color and select our map in the game lobby. It was a joke between us at the EA booth, I do not believe it is true. I'll ask JVC later today to confirm, but consider it a rumor for now.
