  1. Hello CNCNZ! Long time no see! Some of you may be aware that I (Aro) announced my resignation as Twisted Insurrection leader a few months ago, I'd just like to inform you that I have changed my mind on the matter due-to several reasons and will be resuming work as normal! I apologize to our fans whom I may have disappointed, but I'm happy to announce that it was, afterall, only a temporary leave. After recent discussions with some staff members and some other people I consider to be my friends, I have managed to be persuaded to think otherwise about my resignation, so I owe a lot to the guys for helping me pick up my mood again. One other main deterrent of keeping up working on Twisted Insurrection was the fact that Windows 8 hindered my ability to resume work at the pace that I usually keep, but now thanks to a lot of fine-tuning and fiddling, everything is back in order again. Once Public Beta 5 is released and I have found an almost-perfect solution to the Windows 8 issue, I will include a tutorial of how to get TS/TI working correctly on the dreaded operating system. Now that I am back in the game and finally have internet set up at my new home, I am pleased to inform you that Twisted Insurrection will resume progress as normal! Not that Twisted Insurrection has been quiet for all those months, quite the contrary. We are only 2 Nod and 3 GDI Missions away from having a completed campaign, big props to Q45 for all his hard work. Once both campaigns are complete, some additional challenge missions will be created and then work on GloboTech's... missions... will begin. Now, I know what you're all thinking, which is probably something along the lines of "But Aro, when will the faction structures and units be finished?" and the answer to that is simply this, I don't know. ErastusMercy, the lead voxel artist for Twisted Insurrection has been on hiatus around the same time that I took my "leave" due-to several reasons, one of which being to embark on working on his mod, Emerald Prophecy, now for the Unreal engine, but hopefully he'll be back in the game soon. Lin Kuei Ominae, the Nod Building artist for Twisted Insurrection has been unable to use 3DSMAX for quite some time now, but that time is drawing to a close very soon (we hope), once he is able to begin work again, the Nod structures will start flying out again. Henskelion, our cinematics artist is also busy with studies, meaning that progress has been slowed too, but not for long. As for GDI, well it's just a matter of whether the artist in question has time, I'm going to discuss things with some of our SHP artists and see whether or not we can get things rolling at light speed again! So we have taken quite a blow in terms of staff activity, but things are going to pick up again as from today. Sadly, no, I can not give you a set date on Public Beta 5's release, but that's only because unforeseen consequences are bound to happen if I start making promises on release dates. Never-the-less, looking at the progress that has occurred and how much shorter our to-do-list has grown (with the exception of some faction graphics), we're nearing completion, and whilst it's not just around the corner, it's going to happen! Tiberian Sun modding will not die until we die. **** you, Windows 8! Check out Twisted Insurrection's pages around the web!
  2. Thank you for taking the time to share this (and other TI news for that matter), Sonic, we appreciate it.

  4. I found some Pogo Command & Conquer titles many, many years ago though I was never certain if they were official games, thought I would just share what I knew if any of you happened to be curious. The first I remember was a title called "Command & Conquer: Armored Assault", which was pretty fun actually, but it got dull quickly. Sorry for the crap quality of the recording, I couldn't find any superior footage. The second is a very similar style (Both because it's Generals themed and the perspective style used) called "Command & Conquer: Attack Copter". This was the first game I uncovered on Pogo when I was younger and could spend hours playing it. These titles seem to be very unknown which leaves me to think that they might not be official titles.
  5. Thanks for sharing this information over here, and also for your kind words.
  6. Thank you for posting the news here, Sonic, and for the other news too. Just a small correction: It's the 19th and not the 15th, which was my error in my own news post, sorry about that!
  7. Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I am pleased to announce the third Cartographer's Call: Yuri's Revenge Mapping Competition! Hosted over on Project Perfect Mod. The past two Cartographer's Call competitions have been very successful in bringing some faces from all around the modding community over here to take part in making some maps, but this time, we have some extra prizes available so you have all the more reason to compete! Prizes: Along with a custom rank of your choice which will be supplied by Project Perfect Mod's admin, Banshee and as our main prize, a copy of C&C Ultimate Collection up for grabs for the FIRST PLACE WINNER! The C&C Ultimate Collection has all 17 C&C games up to C&C4 and serial key has not been used! It even comes with an authenticated and autographed C&C game art picture in a frame. For more details, rules, judging and all other necessary information, head over to the official thread. Good luck everybody, may the best mapper win!
  8. The Twisted Insurrection team are very pleased to announce that our latest version, Public Beta 4 has been released! Since the Re-Issue of Public Beta 3, we have been working hard to get more of the essentials out of the way. The changelog is also very large and impressive due-to the short amount of time (In my opinion, at least) since the last release, you can view the changelog here. Public Beta 4 includes several new campaign missions (A total of 8 GDI Missions and 13 Nod missions (8 and 9 are placeholder maps) so far), several new units and unit images, new additions to our unique soundtrack, new voices, options, several new and improved maps, coding and balance changes, gameplay improvements, tons of lag reduction, the implementation of Naval units (still in heavily testing phases at the moment) and much more!Public Beta 4 is our most stable version to date as we have eradicated the source of the most common internal errors and hopefully we wont be seeing any more again (or for a long time at best). Online play is now much simpler to commence now too thanks to the new Twisted Insurrection launcher feature similar to the one used by one of our affiliate projects, The Dawn of the Tiberium Age (which we also recommend you check out if you loved classic Tiberian Dawn!). Sadly as it is still beta, there are still several placeholder images being used, but this will not effect the game-play at all! Pretty soon we hope to get everything finished and finally come out of beta. One of our new staff members, Henskelion, is working on CGI & FMV's for future Twisted Insurrection releases which will be available as soon as possible. If you are new to Twisted Insurrection, check out our website for more information. ' rel='lightbox'>http://ti.ppmsite.com/Public/TIPB4Promo.pngDownload Twisted Insurrection Public Beta 4 Here Note: There will be no Public Beta 5, only patches up to this point thanks to the Launcher feature making this easier. The next release will be Twisted Insurrection 1.0. There will be a big patch update based on Public Feedback around Xmas time, as is our tradition. Enjoy, ladies and gentlemen. We'll be looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
  9. No. Installation instructions pretty much already state that. Download the Twisted Insurrection launcher, extract it to a clean directory somewhere, run it and you'll be given the option to install Public Beta 4.
  10. Definitely recommend playing this Mod, whether you liked C&C95 or not. Bittah Commander has done a fantastic job.
  11. Yeah, since almost everything in Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge looked like someone just threw up after too many drinks, I can't see your point. Whilst Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge are great games, the majority of the graphics could do with major improvement, which is just one of the multiple factors that this mod is set out to change. I agree with the saying "Don't fix what isn't broken", but I do agree with "Fix what is fucked!".
  12. Hello everyone, It's been a while since I visited this place. I have announced the first official Twisted Insurrection: Mapping Competition. The rules are simple and easy to follow, but it's suggested that you read through the Twisted Insurrection: Mappers Guide before you attempt to start on a map. Here is a summary of the map competition rules: 1 - Only One map per entrant. 2 - Map remakes from any C&C game are allowed, but they must be remade from scratch, not just modified versions of the originals. 3 - If you post any previews of your maps anywhere before the competition deadline, you will be disqualified and your map will be marked as void and will not be judged in the competition. 4 - You may modify your submission after you have submitted it, but be sure to get the new submission to me (Aro) on time. 5 - Entries must be submitted to Aro (Me) via Private Message by the 22nd of March 2011 (00:00 GMT) 6 - You are not allowed to use the Interior Terrain. 7 - Symmetrical maps are allowed, but will hurt your layout score. 8 - Twisted Insurrection staff members are not allowed to enter the competition. The best maps and winning maps will be included in Twisted Insurrection as an official map selection. The top 3 winners will also receive a Twisted Insurrection banner/signature by default. You may also be able to hold of an early copy of Twisted Insurrection: Public Beta 3 as a main prize. For more information, go to this thread.

    Oh dear..

    What a nice bot.
  14. As the title says, We've managed to reach it into the Top 100 ModDB upcoming mods for the Mod of the year Title! Go to this link to check out the Top 100 released and upcoming mods of 2010!. Be sure to vote for Twisted Insurrection for Upcoming Mod of the Year 2010! I'm also happy to point out that this is again, the first time in History a Tiberian Sun mod has made it into the Top 100 Released mods category on ModDB, as it was the first to reach the Top 100 Upcoming mods last year, so thank you everybody for your votes and don't forget to vote again! Whilst I am making an announcement post, it's an ideal time for me to share with you what has been going on behind the scenes as It has been quiet around here for a while: - My Co-Leader, Lin Kuei Ominae had been working on some many eye-candy tests a while ago in order to improve upon some of our older tests. Some of these tests (which have turned out very successful) will be implemented into the next build for you to enjoy during the next release, which might even be an Xmas present from me to you this year. (Click on the image to view it in actual size) - As some of you may already be aware, I have posted previews of the new Trees that Mig Eater and I have been working on in the Terrain Forum, the Tiberium Flora is soon to be replaced by Droke and Myself too. If you haven't seen the tree already, here are some previews for you of the different kind of tree sets: (Click on the image to view it in actual size) Obviously, the above Image is just to show you what each tree-type is like, here is a preview of them on some of our current maps: (Click on these images to view them in actual size) - Some work from the Mapping side of the Twisted Insurrection fence, which again some of you may also be aware of. Dudeinabox and I have both made a new map each which adds to our huge Map selection variety, hopefully we will reach over 100 Maps (that's one of our main goals) before the Final Release occurs, check out these new maps in actual size by clicking on the Mini-Map previews below: - I have gotten a lot more work done on the Interior Theater, which adds a new Laboratory set and a lot more additional Eye-candy. The Interior Theater is complete as it has all it's necessary components for map-making and reasonable eye-candy, but I'll still be making more bits and pieces for it, just because I can. (Click on the image to view it in actual size) On one final note, the Twisted Insurrection Website is back up and running: Be sure to check it out! And that is all I can show for now. Be sure to keep your eyes open for many more previews to come, I promise you, there is a lot more on it's way. Vote Twisted Insurrection for Mod of the Year 2010! Twisted Insurrection will never die!
  15. Yep, your loading screens and main menu are in the beta and will definitely be in future releases.
  16. No problem. Thank you for the news post.
  17. Dbjs2009 just needs to update the news post to fix his mistake, you don't all have to make such a big deal over it. Nobody's perfect.

    Your Favorite Freeware Game

    Tiberian Sun.
  19. The logic was removed in RA2/YR. It is however re-enabled with Ares. See this picture for example.
  20. Just for clarification to the news poster and anyone else that may not be aware, the release this August is not Twisted Insurrection's final release, but a Beta release. Even so, the news post is far from "Grossly Misleading". The ModDB description for Twisted Insurrection does however need some updating, that summary hasn't been changed in over a year. I've updated it just now to avoid any confusion. Thanks for posting this on CNCNZ dbjs. There are 22 tracks in the TI:OST which will all be in the final release of Twisted Insurrection, more tracks could come at a later date.

    The ingame FMV's

The In-game FMV's for the Freeware Tiberian Sun and Firestorm work fine, the only issue is that the some of the cut-scenes from Firestorm are missing such as the video of the Juggernauts attacking a Nod base, the briefing videos are all there however.
  22. When I first released the UMP I added many of my own custom game-play additions which included only allowing Light Infantry, Tick Tanks and Titans as starting units, but since the starting units that are set in Tiberian Sun and Firestorm are intentional settings by Westwood and not bugs, I decided to remove those additions. Thanks for posting this here by the way.
  23. No it isn't, it's a great and original idea, the only things that bring it down are the Infantry graphics, those are actually horrible to look at. Something doesn't have to have perfect graphics in every criteria to be good or fun to play (which I know sounds strange coming from me of all people).
