I'm not sure if anyone else here is excited bout it, but I pre-ordered the game two weeks ago. Looks Freaking awesome what with being able to choose what path to take and the physics and graphics. Any opinions?

Over the top force powers are a bit to much. Force pulling a star destroyer from space seems like a pretty valuable ability for other jedis to forget about during the clone wars/civil war

this is set between the two, and you Vader's secret apprentice is like someone who's taken the dam that is the barrier that limits how much of the force's power and has shattered it thus making them extremely strong.

Sadly KOTOR III will be an MMO =( Might be okay, but because it's an MMO it'll be open ended I suppose, no story with an end D:

battlefront 3?! freaking awesome ^___^ but i have to say the force powers are a little over the top. a star destroyer? for real? that is pretty damn tacky. not even the best jedi/sith in the universe would have that ability... if they toned the powers down a bit to more realistic levels, it could be a good game o.o

though the advert for it made me laugh so hard... possibly the one real bad thing in the game... when the guy speaks instead of having proper mouth animation his lips kinda warble in a really silly fashion. and they HIGHLIGHTED IT in the advert for two whole seconds XD the last thing you wanna do is highlight your game as having a retarded main character XDDDDD

just finished playing the demo its really fun and cool...and the mouth movement was fine?

it might just have been that one scene or something... but it was doing that thing with the mouth where it forms a (large) O which shows off all the front teeth and the gums, yet the sides of the mouth remain pinched together tightly. it's an impossible facial expression to pull off in real life... and it looks so freaking retarded. like a constipated chipmunk. gmod managed to make that face happen on characters way too easily o.o

Well my cousin bought a copy for his xbox which we messed around with over the weekend. It was a lot of fun.

The high levels of interactivity with the environment really help immerse you into the feeling of being a Jedi.

 

What irks me is that my light saber can take up to 3-4 strikes on ordinary enemies before they die... when decapitation and losing of limbs etc should be the order of the day!?!

 

I could handle the concept of special areas that interfere with your crystal or special end-of-level-bosses that have a special armour that takes damage before you get to the heart of the matter - but the game doesn't gel with how destructive the saber is clearly shown to be in Episode 1. I would prefer a plot device of VADAR sending his padawan out with just an ordinary stick/pole/sword as further evidence of his mastery of the force. That would easily explain why it takes 3-4 hits to kill certain characters in the game.

 

I *do* like some of the lines. Vadar says before one of the missions... "here I want you to kill so and so... I don't expect you to survive but if you do - we'll be one step closer to the ultimate goal - killing the emperor!"

The people animation is pretty poor, but I never noticed any lip-sync issues - of course the outside scenery etc is beautiful.

3 - 4 hits with a lightsaber? D: oh dayum that's just wrong. lightsabers can pretty much cut through anything except dark matter o.o; they are high powered light particles... i guess it would be possible to create some kind of light shield... but no. on regular baddies it would hack them into little pieces o.o battlefront did that too... but that was simply for fairness. the jedi would be WAY overpowered if they had one hit kills xD i mean as it is they're pretty over powered >.>; anyway... yah... the face graphics look dodgy and the lightsaber thing looks bad. but apart from that would you recommend it as an excellent game? thing is... in the movies vader was completely loyal to the emperor until luke... but all the background stories and the extended universe and such have created this whole backplot :\ it disappoints me. pleases me that vader has some good and a little want to be leader... but having his faithfulness was cute.

I've got no issues with the sith-betray-their-master dynamic in the books. I can just never understand why there can only be 2 Sith at a time when there were a zillion Jedi!

....Hang on... wasn't there some dialog on Endor with Vader's suggesting a betrayal of the Emperor? I was thinking it was created for the books.

 

I'm not good at fighting games which require you to do awesome combos to achieve maximum fun - but I still enjoyed it. Of course I didn't pay for it!

Mina you seem to know enough about the universe to indicate that yes you should play the game. Rent it if you're still doubtful, but I think you owe it to yourself to test it.

 

I have no idea how to balance a game the awesome ability of the Jedi armed with a lightsaber. It cut cut through anything, they can practically deflect any missile weapon, and they can use telekinetic powers to interact with their environment. Apart from the Sith, the Jedi seem to be vulnerable to overwhelming numbers... so this is what I was expecting in the game.

 

Still my 2-3hrs of game time were fun.

2 sith? that's not true o_O there are way more then two... you only see two because it's the master and apprentice... "they come in twos"... read any info on the extended universe o.o there is a sith counsil and hundreds of different sith warriors o.o is it out on pc? and if it's gonna come out on pc in the future, any idea when? i do play console games but i'd much prefer a mouse and keyboard >.> i don't mind waiting. i have too many things i need to buy as it is anyway xD

Not encountered any of those stories then.

 

My limited understanding was that the Emperor and Vadar were alone in the movie universe; and that ages ago there was a big battle at endor or somewhere when the sith at the temple were thought to be eradicated... (detailed in the stories about Luke's jedi training temple).

 

I'll have to hassle my star wars nerdy friend tomorrow then... and ask for more info.

i think i wiki'd it all one night...ALOT of material in that universe they could make a ton of movies...and i dont think anyone was that strong with the force...
