Olympic Games - Beijing 2008

The Olympic Games get started this weekend in smog town.... otherwise known as Beijing, China.

 

So what's your interest level?

I might flip over and watch the odd event here and there. But I'm not actually planning to watch anything in particular.

My only interest is that Eric the Eel guy who came last and took around 4 minutes to swim the 100 meters freestyle in the last Olympics. If I remember rightly he was taking part on behalf of the developing nations events, and obviously came last..

 

Since then however he's had a tonne of training, Nike sponsorship, and is apparently back again to prove his worth. No doubt he's had his 15 minutes of fame and will probably be overlooked, but I wanna see his transformation since he's been guided by professionals over the last 4 years.

 

Other than that... I really couldn't care one bit. The winter olympics gets a lot more of my attention, duly because those events are actually more fun to watch.

I'm just interested in the Basketball and that's about it. But I doubt our TV coverage of the Basketball will be minimal at best.

not all that bothered. only minorly interested in china because i heard they were trying to block competing athletes by revoking their visas... which caught my interest... so anything else that happens along those lines would be worth a giggle or two. assuming anything actually happens... with so much pressure from the outside world i doubt they'll try anything o.o

i think the next olympics... 2012, are in london aren't they? i might be going to that o.o might. only because it's something so rare and fancy. but i'd be scared or bored stiff... too many crowds, nothing entertaining enough to make me wanna watch :\

nope, but with any luck some will be uploaded to youtube o.o chances are the people who are recording stuff can't get access to a computer yet... so you might have to wait until everyone gets home before you see all the handmade videos. but there should be -some- professional videos out there somewhere... i mean with all the news coverage and stuff o.O;

yah but even live stuff gets recorded o.O so there should be copies somewhere... eh go figure i guess. surely it would be recorded for prosperity or something. maybe we'll see it in the future or something. have to wait and see for people to upload stuff and things to be released o.o
