Dr. Rodney McKay 0 Posted November 5, 2008 (edited) I'd prefer Ron Paul, but I have no problems with Obama. I'll definitely be tuning in to see where he takes the country. Anyone know how Paul performed yet? Edited November 5, 2008 by Dr. Rodney McKay Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted November 5, 2008 Paul wasn't in the election, he was supporting the Libertarian candidate. Share this post Link to post
TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 5, 2008 Paul wasn't in the election, he was supporting the Libertarian candidate. *Constitution Party. Chuck Baldwin. Bob Barr is the Libertarian and while Paul likes him, he didn't endorse him. And you could have still wrote in Ron Paul. Google news link of Ron Paul's recent news. Some of it is quite interesting to read. Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 5, 2008 Obama's win made my day. McCain's gracious loss is a sign that we should have a good set of years ahead of us. Now, I am not going to predict the future as I don't like Obama that much (though he picked a Google guy to be the nation's techie ) but I agree, it made my day and I am just so happy McCain lost. Whatever... I knew it was one or the other of those two and Ron Paul was a Libertarian... Ron Paul has been a libertarian but he's Republican technically Combo breaker? Hahaha, first thing I saw on /b/. Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 5, 2008 I am saddened and worried about how ignorant it seems a lot of people are. I go to school and I hear "Obama is the Anti-Christ!" or "This is the end of America!" Jesus. Share this post Link to post
Masked Shah 5 Posted November 6, 2008 I am saddened and worried about how ignorant it seems a lot of people are. I go to school and I hear "Obama is the Anti-Christ!" or "This is the end of America!" Jesus. Silly Bastards... We all know I am the end of all good things!! On that note, the GLA offically declares Obama as Shodirkadirka's most threating.... um threat... His policy of peace, good sense, and intellence is the bane of the GLA... for years we have thrived on hyjacked vechicals and stolen goods thanks to the former party... but now we are back to square one, becuase the GLA's master tunnel system is being attacked worldwide... it's as though... the country got smarter and is actually using "thinking" to attack us...!!! as I sit in this cell I can not help but think of the ultimate defeat served to us... I will escape... but when I return, what will be left? Grrrr!!! I will steal all your soup cans and then you will all pay for your intelligence!!! Share this post Link to post
Mighty BOB! 5 Posted November 6, 2008 Okay seriously does anyone actually find Shah's random babblings ever amusing? Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 7, 2008 Palin didn't know 1) Africa is a continent (thought it was a country) 2) South Africa is not a 'state' within the country 'Africa', but a country within Africa 3) Didn't know the countries in NAFTA (WTF? It's ONLY 3!) I am so ******* glad Obama won Share this post Link to post
Mina Synd 0 Posted November 7, 2008 yah... that's some damning evidence blackout xD but you have to remember it is fox news... so i wouldn't put too much faith into it... i had a lot of sympathy for palin because i have an alaskan female friend who's a young mother and such. very similar history to palin, minus the whole governing thing. she gets bullied enough now for being alaskan but throw palin into the mix... yaaah... but the second i heard about palin's wolf hunting i have quite a strong dislike for her now >_> gotta kill wolves to let the moose population get high? why would you even do that? the only reason i can think of is so there can be a moose season for hunters. it's a vicious circle just to give people an excuse to shoot at defenceless animals >.> ...anyway... yah i saw the combo breaker pic xD got it saved in my funny folder. chances are obama is just gonna turn out to be another politician and nothing much will change in the long run. but because of his skin colour and the racist subtones in much of the american populous... well -that- is going to change history. in the long run, probably for the better. either obama will do a good job and change a lot of opinions or he'll get like, assassinated or something an there will be riots and eventually the whole thing will result in more definitive equal rights being taught in schools and such o.o i think he'll do great though. admitedly he can't do much -worse- then the previous couple of governments... but i think he'll definately open up the doors for america to truly become great o.o his only hitch so far have been the propositions which seem to have been timed well enough to put a hitch in his office time... yah, proposition 8 (banning of gay marriage) is a BIG issue. that's really not something they should have power over. who are we to say they can't get married y'know... not a whole lot has changed from before apart from california banning it (cali used to be a BIG place for gay marriage) but either way it's been enough to throw the gay and bisexual communities into complete and utter panic o.o; Share this post Link to post

I trust it completely. Hell just look at the Katey Couric interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbQwAFobQxQ She's absolutely retarded. Prop 8 is a big issue but that's a state (local) issue, not national. That has no place in national politics (imho). Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted November 9, 2008 You think Bush will be missed? Who will they make fun of now? On Obama, I believe all around he was the logical choice for voters. America have had a turbulant eight years under a Republican canidacy, and much of the blame is placed at their leader. However much of that blame is deserved bringing in a new Democratic leadership with the first African American President as their figurehead should provide a very positive boost to opinion of America. As sad as it may be, how Obama may handle the financial crisis and the war on terrorism was likely secondary to the fact that he was not Bush, he was not a Republican, and after eight years people had more than enough. And when Sarah Palin came into the picture that was it. The undisputed laughing stock of the elections doomed the Republicans to failure. The last time we saw a new President there was the Florida scandal. I think this time we have to ask if Palin was hired to undermine the party she worked for, because she could not have done a more spectacular job if she tried. Share this post Link to post

Or you just asking a redundant question? I won't say Obama is the most logical (because tons of libertarians and constitutionalists come to mind for me) but he's miles ahead of McCain/Palin. Mina Synd 0 Posted November 11, 2008 well y'know, whatever happens obama is a welcome change to the country. like was said earlier, it's a break from the republicans, a break from bush and the first afro-american president. so long as obama does at least one good notable thing he will be remembered in history as a truely great president o.o; and unless he screws up it will open the doors of the white house for candidates of every race. i hate to say it but that's kind of a mixed blessing. it will do wonders for american equality and the world's view of the country, but chances are whatever race the president is, he/she will undoubtly be pressured to give better rights to that race... i mean say 20 years from now a mexican president comes into power... the average white person is gonna be boned when it comes to the job market xD but anyway let's focus on the here and now. from what i've seen he's already making political ties with various countries and groups in the middle east. so far with great success from what i've heard o.o i mean if he continues the way he's going he could actually solve all the lil problems between the middle east and the US... though i get the feeling it'll end up like when the CCCP invaded afghanistan. US gives them weapons and aid, then bails later thus creating national US hatred... i bet obama will keep everything good then the next president will totally screw it up :\ but here's hoping that the time obama spends in office will be some of the greatest years of our lives o.o if nothing else having a black president will be one of those "i was there" moments... so far there have been a few moments like that in my lifetime... both good and bad - diana dying, the berlin wall coming down, the twin towers, the rise of technology... we could definately do with another good thing happening ^^; Share this post Link to post

TheBlackOut 7 Posted November 12, 2008 I'm curious to why you think either of them are idiots. McCain/Palin or Obama/McCain? The general reasons: 1) McCain is a Conservative, they used to stand for small government. We haven't had that from Republicans in a long time. 2) Palin is a moron. 3) McCain is a believer in the Bush Doctrine. 4) No candidate will not mark a dramatic shift in American Foreign Policy. 5) All of them support the bailouts. Fail. 6) Obama wants Universal Healthcare. 7) None of them want to eliminate useless departments (IRS, Department of Education, etc) 8) None of them want to eliminate Social Security, which we CANNOT afford.
