hoookie this is gonna be a long post. but mainly with pictures :3

 

the idea here is we take photos of stuff we have and want to show off - primarily any christmas or birthday gifts! i didn't feel this thread fit into the pictures thread quite so much, and it doesn't tie in with any of the specific x-mas threads (i know - ANOTHER x-mas thread. but c'mon, it'll be fun fun fun! :3)

...also i didn't wanna spam up the pictures thread with all my crap xD

 

 

okie - these are a large section of the "kickass games" that i spoke about having came out recently (though a couple are from a while ago such as BF: 2142, but i got it at the same time so it's in the pile xD) technically these are from a couple of seperate spending sprees but same deal.

 

 

this was my -MOVIE- spending spree, a little more recent. i spoke about them in a different thread - figured i'd show them off whilst i'm doing this

 

 

most of the crud i got for my birthday (the two dvds with THAT deal on i happened to buy myself whilst i was out. i also got a star wars soundboard device thing)

 

 

yup. i know... i remember reading the review and plot of the graphic novel and i decided that it was either gonna be epic or epically BAD. i happened to see it when i was out on my birthday and realised i struck gold x3 the cheerios are only there because there was space and HOLY CRUD it's a big box! 600g! SIX HUNDRED!

 

 

here is the real reason i posted this topic xD a limited edition GoW2 lancer chainsawgun. you all know i dispise GoW with a passion, but i LOVE props. apparently there have only been 5,000 made in the world (unless they do a halo "caving into the public's demand" thing and make a million more...) and come on it was just so FREAKING AWESOME. and it only cost £30 (£10 less then GoW2 itself) so why not y'know? x3

 

 

a closer shot of some of the moving parts - a removable clip, the clip holder parts as well as the adjustable side handle...

 

 

another close-up - this time primarily of the cartridge. notice the horrible gun design flaw? the fact that the chainsaw blade goes most of the way through? XD either it's a massive screwup, or the bullets are tiny and go in that little bit at the back and the rest of the cartridge is just a waste of space. which would be very awkward considering you'd need to carry lots of them...

 

also, when you pull the trigger the whole gun vibrates and makes chainsaw noises. which was awesome. i thought it was gonna make a shooting noise first of all and i nearly had a heart attack XD

 

aaaand sorry about the horrible bed cover. i see no point in changing it every day/week when a couple of hours after i've changed it my cats are gonna come in with muddy paws and walk all over it. i've given up being posh unnecessary. too much hastle x3 (also lawl. only took me about an hour and a half to type this because halfway through mom made me run downstairs and pick out all the stuff i want for the online shopping XD)

meh. personally i dispise the game but i LOVE props. and considering how cheap this was it's frigging awesome.

Yeah I love props from video games and to a lesser degree movies.

 

That gun looks funky. I see you got the Fallout 3 collectors edition. Did you get a pipboy too?

nope, just the collector's edition - not the survivor's... i would have bought the survivor's had i seen it there. they had an alternate "Game store" special version. you got the game and a little 6" high action figure of the guy on the front cover of the game (not the cute lil 50's character but the guy in the badlands armour xD)

 

which was equally awesome. but i saw the collector's and figured it had more in it. i mean you got a bobblehead AND a metal lunchbox as well as a dvd and an artbook... i can't remember what the Game version had besides the game and figure but i don't think it was much. i mean there was nowhere to put it... it was just a little box with the figure in and the game case stuck to the back xD

 

though having only found out about the survivor's version just now i feel ripped off to say the least D:

 

but yah i LOVE getting special/collector's editions of games... if i get the chance i always buy them... the only one i haven't got yet was world in conflict. and i REALLY wanted that one. but they sold out at the time so i settled for the standard version :\ which i still regret. the collector's edition had a piece of the berlin wall in it @.@

 

but yah i think the lancer rifle is definately the coolest "collector" gadget i've got for a game yet. i would have prefered it in the regular colours instead of the special golden unlock version but meh...

 

i've got a few other props from movies and such, but generally they are all "toy" props, such as the force FX lightsaber and the star trek TOS phaser + communicator (i'm gonna get the tricorder sometime too!) technically they are mass-produced toys, but they are really high quality and work perfectly as cosplay items o.o heck, most times they have more functions then the original on-screen props xD

but dvds is new! :3 if you have a few, get them in a group photo like i did, and if you have hundreds then take a (detailed, high quality) photo of them all side-by-side like in a shop :3

I won't get them out. I have quite a few and a lot of sets and thinpaks. Though the thinpaks are mainly my Family Guy and Futurama.

 

They're blurry, but that's because I not so good with cameras. XD

i could go and take photos of all my mangas and my whole dvd collection... buuut i'm too lazy. maybe another day x3 not now though. it would mean i'd have to get all my manga together and put all my new dvds on the shelf (and my manga is in two little cuboard things downstairs as well as on my shelf up here. got between 110 - 115 mangas to date o-O)

Epic Movie was a bargain bin pick at Wally World. Could have been better but it had its moments. Besides, Clerks (1 and 2), any Mel Brooks title bar one and Office Space are entirely necessary for any good collection.

eeeeyah... but you really can't compare the producers and spaceballs o.O the only way they are similar is that they are both comedies. and i don't think that even works. spaceballs is a parody, producers is a satire/dark humour XD

 

not to mention the obvious faults of the radically different scenarios. one being sci-fi, the other being a possible-reality in hollywood oO;
