Red Alert 3: Uprising - 1 Day Away

Recommended Posts

If you have seen the countdown on our main page you would have noticed that it's less than 1 day away until the release of Red Alert 3: Uprising. It will be available for download on the 12th of March in the USA, while fans in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom have to wait until the 13th of March.

You have a few options to purchase the download of Red Alert 3: Uprising as well. Some are shown below.

If your country is not listed you should be able to find Red Alert 3: Uprising on the EA Store for your area very easily. Also, I've found out that the download for Red Alert 3: Uprising is 5.3 GB.

You mean exactly 4.7GB for the Uprising download? That won't fit to write in a single-layer DVD since the disk limit of a writable DVD is exactly 4.38GB.

Besides, we people in the USA are having a tough time trying to buy 8.5GB dual-layer DVDs due to limited supply and strict rules regarding copyright issues. Dual-layer DVDs are still expensive today except on some foreign areas.

Don't know exact size. Other than its an estimated 4.7 GB download.

If possible I'll just back it up on my external 320 GB HD.

1 day away. EA store doesn't like me anymore. I buy the game, that is easy, then I try to go look at my invoice again, oh no you don't.... Ugh....

Its all sorted now, but I'm never using that **** ever again.

Most archive programs allow you to span disks too... so worst case scenerio we can back up to 2 dvd's!

So far I haven't received any notification's about my pre-download for the game via email through ea store.

I was thinking about when I saw GAMESPOT have it as a 30th March release, then I came here to ask about it, and saw this thread.

Has the release date been recently confirmed Sonic, is gamespot info just bad/old?

I would go by the release dates on the EAStore links above. GameSpot obviously have old information.

I'll wait until it is released on Steam. With Steam, I know for sure I can still redownload the game next year.

If the program is downloaded via online store, can I make a backup for the installer?

Yes you can backup the installer, upon download completion it's extracted to a folder with all the installation files in it (much like if you were to browse the RA3 game DVD). I pre-ordered on EA Store NZ a few days ago, got the free 5 year download guarantee pre-order upgrade.

The download is 5.3GB (info straight from EA Store).

I'm glad my plan has a 40GB data cap. Yes here in New Zealand we have these damn restrictions.

Actually, I find it kinda stupid that I have to pay (for a digital download) about 20 Euro where it only costs about 15 pounds. According to the current currency conversion rate it would be about 16 Euros. OK: The difference is not that high but still. Especially, as I want to buy the English version anyway.

However, US and UK cost about the same though - not completely the same but because of changing currency conversions it will never be completely the same but at least nearly.

Btw.: Does Direct2Drive use the same copy protection as the one in EA Store?

EA store is easily the worst online distribution store I've ever used. First I pre-order the game, they take my money everything is fine. BUT when I want to download it...Its next to impossible to log in, and when I do, can I download the game? Of course not!!!

What is the point in pre-ordering if when it comes time to download, I CAN'T!!!!

EA store ****ING SUCKS! Give me my game already! FFS..

You can't get it yet because it hasn't been released in NZ.

It would be nice if the download manager at least acknowledges your order with a little countdown or ETA for release. In my case, I can see my invoice, and it's confirmed.

But nothing else can be seen. I'm not expecting anything because of the release date in Aust as well, but it would be nice to see some progress.

edit: just re-posting the ea-store help text

After I login, my purchase doesn’t show up in the EA Download Manager. What should I do?

Make sure you are logged in with the correct account. You need to log in with the account you used when purchasing or registering the product. Pre-ordered games will not show up until the game is ready for preload or released to the public. If you still cannot access your game, contact customer service. Http://support.ea.com

I preordered a game from EA's webstore. How do I get it?

You will receive an email notification when your game is available for download. Simply log in to the EADM and it will be listed in your library of downloads. Click Start to begin downloading.

Indeed, it doesn't tell me anything. Pah.

You can't get it yet because it hasn't been released in NZ.

Its says on the EA NZ site, available 12th. And on the store it says in EPIC letters, DOWNLOAD NOW...

So I don't know...

I know I will never again use EA store. So totally ****ing retarded....

I too am waiting for something to occur. I'm leaving EADM logged in, hopefully something will change at midnight.

Having never seen or used the EADM before I'm afraid I can't be of much help. All you can do is wait I guess.

Same here G DADDY, but I'm assuming the download manager will require some sort of user interaction before it downloads... so I don't think just leaving it active will work.

I'm assuming the first person who gets some joy will post it here... FREE COOKIES for the winner!

Well midnight has been and gone, nothing, logged out and in again, nothing.

I got an email yesterday from EA saying it's ready for download...

"the little boy waits" (maybe only fellow kiwis will know/remember this line :P)

At least you got an email, all I've gotten is squat.

Maybe tomorrow morning it will be available... Can't say I'm impressed by EA and their pre-order nonsense... At least I got free extended service, yaa?

Sincerely,

From what I gather "I have EADM" should be a hyperlink, but it's not. The "I don't have EADM" just links to the EADM installer. The email is also missing the EA logos, as if the pictures haven't loaded.

When I check the order status it says submitted. What does yours say? I was reading EA forum and a guy from Aus had this problem, he said they had to cancel his order, then he had to re-order it, then he was able to download it.

I haven't gotten that email. :(

When I EVENTUALLY manage to login to their site, all I get is my order history which lists what I got and there is a big blank spot where there should be an unlock code... The invoice doesn't say much, that is when I can see it, constantly it says its unavailable due to some random server error..

If I can't download it tomorrow morning, I'll contact EA support I suppose.

EDIT: Checked gmail junk mail, I found the email you got... But there isn't a link to start downloading! Stupid system...

EDIT2: Sent off an email to EA support. Hopefully have something tomorrow morning... And now, NIGHT! ^_^

For some reason I can't view that pic (permission error), but if it's the red text error when clicking "view invoice" then yes I've been getting that too. Most of the time it tells me my password is invalid when I try to log in to the order status page, even though it's correct, and I can log in to EA DM/profile page/forum with it fine.

Just for kicks I put my retail RA3 serial in to EADM, which activated a DM version, then I downloaded it. Speed was 160kb/s on average. I also tried this with C&C3+KW, but it won't allow it.

I'll be picking up RE5 in the morning (it's a pity there wasn't any midnight launches for it here).

I considered emailing support, but since we're in the same boat I'll wait and see what they have to say to you on the matter :D
