Submit Your Questions for the May Edition of the Roundtable

Recommended Posts

The May edition of our regular Roundtable Discussion feature is going to be slightly different for this month. For the first time ever control over the questions is going to be put into the hands of the fans. Your being asked to submit the questions for this month's Roundtable. Simply post your ideas for questions in this thread on our forums, post as many as you can think of and our core veteran team of panellists will do their best to answer them, sharing their thoughts on the topics in the process.

Roundtable questions are usually based on recent news topics so that's one source you can get ideas from. But you can submit questions based on anything related to Command & Conquer, past, present and future. Even something more community based. So post your questions ands ideas in this thread, the best 5 or 6 will be chosen to be included in the May edition of the Roundtable Discussion later this month.

Your question is not Roundtable material but I'll answer it for you. Just as I have posted on our YouTube channel many times before.

To everyone who keeps asking for more Tiberium Legos. Its no longer in production. The person who made the episodes has long since retired from our site's staff. Season 3 was left unfinished and that's where it ended. Maybe one day Tiberium Legos will return but its doubtful at this stage.

1. Can you guess when is the next C&C game's beta test comes out?

2. With many of us still pissed off from what EA is doing (After RA3 was done & reading the TW post-mortem article), especially they make the games in their way rather than Westwood's way. Will EA ever follow Westwood's footsteps at 100%? This one might be a serious question, if without any of us Westwood fanboys (Sorry, Sonic, but that has to say it out), the whole franchise may all be f*cked up and even worse than Generals today.

3. Like no. 2, but with a twist, and hopefully Apoc already read the post-mortem article and understand why. Will EA re-hire back the original Westwood or C&C founders? Louis Castle isn't one of us anymore, he's nothing! Sorry, Castle.

EDIT : Got to clear out the previous one above. And if my questions above are not the kind of material, that's ok, I tried.

I doubt at this point of time hiring former westwood staff will bring C&C to its former glory.

Please do not discuss topics in this thread. I would prefer to keep it limited to ideas and suggestions for the Roundtable.

How do you think the post-release support of EA's recent C&C games have been? What can they improve on?

What storyline issues do you think EA should resolve when developing the next tiberium game vs. the next red alert game? Elaborate why.

Which mission have been the most memorable of all the C&C games? Why?

What C&C community sites do you regularly visit? Write why you visit each respective site with one short sentence each.

Great idea by the way.

What level of seriousness versus cheese suits the Red Alert universe best? From the most serious RA1, through the less-serious RA2, to the cheese fest RA3.

Do you think the Tiberium universe is losing too much of its seriousness and becoming more like the Red Alert universe?

Is EA putting too much focus on hiring celebrities or appealing faces in the latest games?

(Hope none of these have already appeared in a Round Table, I'm too lazy to look back and see. :) )

You know the last two questions could be asked into a more objective way, like

Do you think the Tiberium universe is losing its seriousness?

What do you think of the focus on hiring celebrities in the latest games?

or something :P

what do you think is the future of the tiberian universe?

what do you think is the future of the red alert universe?

Does it seem possible to get a very large community collaboration to mod RA3 into a C&C4?

It's been a long time since I went to the forums. Hehehe....

So, my question is brutally simple, but may dictate CnC as we know it...

What is the future of Command and Conquer?

Revision for recover's question on which sites you visit regularly... which sites do you 'lurk' but don't actively post.

Potential for C&C on the Wii?

What do you think of the future of Generals universe?

If you are to invent a whole new universe in C&C, what will it be?

Will the future of C&C products solely be digital downloads? And your reactions to that? (Say for example, C&C The Second Decade, will be just a small little card with a bunch of codes, that's all, no disc, no manual, no box.)

Here's another, which reminds me.

1. If EA would to revive Generals, will C&C fans like it? Will Westwood fans begin to dislike the franchise even more & may possibly give up their interest?

2. If Generals 2 would to use the original C&C systems (MCV, sidebar, etc..), will regular RTS or pure hardcore Generals fan accept it? Or will they go really really angry like hell?

----

Something a little different,

3. If we have special edition games, will we get to see something really valuable as a treasure rather than lame low value stuff? RA3's Premier Edition was not good compare to a more successful product like Warcraft's Special Edition boxes which contain an original sketch book, larger poster of the game itself, etc..

Tying into #3 from the previous post:

Do you think there is a market for an Art of Command & Conquer booklet full of concept art and/or CG renders similar to the many art books from Blizzard or LucasArts?

Yes, as part of a collectors package.

Thanks to all who came up with ideas for the next Roundtable, Six questions have been selected and they have been sent out to our regular core of panellists. Look for Roundtable Discussion #20 to be posted on the weekend of May 30/31.

Ooo, I was so close to that, especially I was going to send my last question regarding the boxart.

But never mind, got to wait and see, and will Apoc take this upcoming Roundtable comments seriously?

It depends. One thing for certain Apoc does pay attention to CNCNZ's classic Roundtable, which means an EALA staff listens to the fans' opinions, and most probably discussing these stuff among themselves in meetings of sorts.

Well, at least you said it depends, but I'm still really concern if they ever take it. After all, our words are treated as suggestions or opinions, and they can be ignored.
