Windows 7: Red Alert 3 Gameplay

Recommended Posts

So how does Red Alert 3 play on Windows 7, the next latest and greatest operating system from Microsoft. According the person who posted the

it plays perfectly fine, apparently much faster than Windows Vista.

While its impressive to see Red Alert 3 performing so well on Windows 7, and this was on Pre-Beta build of the 64 bit edition, I have Windows Vista myself and Red Alert 3 runs extremely well with everything on high details. As in no lag or slow down that the person who posted the video described.

It could be a matter of it works on Vista, but it works on 7 better.

actually x64 makes a good difference even if the game is not written in x64, it supports multicore thought and it needs ram and the OS that handles the RAM is much better than Vista SP1 but Vista x64 SP2 with latest drivers is not but at all!

ok Windows 7 is FASTER than Vista Sure.

BUT Windows 7 is equal (so far) to XP x86 or x64 in 3D rendering performce or mabe a little (just a tiny bit slower)! and thats not Good! why? we should make steps farward not backwords, allthough n this case making 1 step back to XP performance wasnt bad, still windows 7 MUST be in the finall RTM version or after a SP1 at least a little Faster in 3D rendering than XP! thats the perpuse of moving to a new O.S, been BETTER!

so ok we are all happy that 7 performs like XP in Vista enviroment, But thats what VISTA should do! not 7!!! W7 should be even faster and i am expecting that from microsoft in the near future.

I will be getting a copy of Windows 7 after the introductory prices drop, before that I have to get a new system to cope with these graphic intensive games. Imagine building a power plant that takes 1 minute as the system is able to cope with less than 10 fps... you get the idea.

I've read that it's way cheaper to pre-purchase it and do an upgrade from XP/Vista. The pre-purchase makes it cheaper, as does the upgrade.

Look into that or you'll be sorry. ;)

Actually for my sticky situation, the problem lies more on the ancient processor than the OS or graphics card. The processor is bottlenecking even the best graphics card, and not working (cannot support actually) on newer and superior Vista or Win 7. So if I need to upgrade, I have to perform a complete overhaul, which is kind of a headache for me right now.
