First C&C 4 Unit Profile - GDI Crawler

Recommended Posts

The first Command & Conquer unit profile has been posted on the Official C&C Site. This one gives us a detailed look at the GDI Crawler. And just like the unit profiles from Red Alert 3, these ones feature a short in game video (with sound), concept art and extra information. Here is a sample....

The Mobile Construction Vehicle has been the linchpin of the GDI military forces for eighty years. Its unprecedented mobility and versatility has enabled GDI commanders to quickly combat any threat around the globe. Although the MCV has evolved over the decades, its primary role, namely the rapid projection of force anywhere in the world, has remained constant. The new MCV Mk. VII is the latest incarnation of the time-tested Mobile Construction Vehicle, developed specifically in response to the TCN Conflict.

Since the beginning of the Tiberium Control Network construction effort in 2062, GDI forces have been stretched thin attempting to defend the global Tiberium Control Network from Nod Separatist attacks. When the Anti-Kane Separatists banded together in 2070, they executed a series of worldwide hit and run attacks against TCN construction sites that stalled the TCN effort and left the GDI military in disarray. GDI commanders realized that they could not defend the TCN and, at the same time, pursue and destroy the Separatist forces. As a result, GDI began an overhaul of the military and its arsenal, centering it on the concept of defending the global TCN.

The video reminds me of the RA3 MCV especially with wheels and when it travels on the water...

If only, they also show us the Support Class Crawler...

Edit:

I'm pretty sure they showed all three classes, Offence, Defence and the flying one is most likely Support.

Oops, I mistaken the Support Class Flying Crawler as the Defense Class Crawler travelling on water...! LoL~ The flying part isn't that obvious to me, it looks like travelling on water...

I realised that EA never finished their Unit profiles for RA3. Damn.

Dang, I saw that, I wonder what's got into them until they didn't finish that assignment, imagine if we are newbies to the RA3 product and see that faction page is not done.

Offense Crawler

A massive four-legged walker, the Offense Crawler is able to traverse a variety of rugged terrain, and is designed to pursue, engage, and eliminate Nod Separatist forces. Its primary role is to act as a mobile projection of force anywhere on the battlefield, and is frequently deployed for a variety of missions including escort, search and destroy, and base assault. The Offense Crawler can be upgraded to construct additional units, including the Mammoth Mk. IVs and the mighty Mastodon walker, and can also be outfitted with additional engines, armor, and weaponry to personally lead the charge into battle.

Or not. :P

Looks awesome, though. I can't wait to try it out. I need to get into the beta so badly. >_>

i like! it excites me...wish the support class wouldnt have to land to deploy though...it would be so cool to have ships come out of it mid-flight...

Which makes me wonder why they're doing the same gimmick for C&C 4. I reckon they COULD have finished the RA3 ones, but updates were virtually non existant over the RA3 Beta period.

Yes, Capital Ships. Well, that pretty much covers Epic Units.

And then the tanks would need to parachute or drop-pod down to the ground... which would be fun. I guess the point is the bulk of anybodies heavy assault vehicles are probably ground only... so if it stayed permanently in the air - we'd need to see some heavy anti-air vehicles... which also could be fun.

I think the support classes are gonna be much loved factions

Imagine sky battles between titans in the air. That alone might give me a reason to buy C&C4
