General Leang 0 Posted May 1, 2004 What do you consider to be the best change or improvement to the Command & Conquer games? For me, two great tweaks have been utilising more missions that feature commando or hero units (Tanya, SEALS, Colonel Burton) and missions that allow you to be creative. The Fox and the Hound mission in Red Alert is a good example. Share this post Link to post
Gazdude 0 Posted May 5, 2004 Faster gameplay and beter storylines would be a few....... Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted May 6, 2004 better storylines would be a few....... Your not including Generals in that statement are you? Share this post Link to post
Gazdude 0 Posted May 6, 2004 Why did you like the generlas storyline? :? Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted May 7, 2004 Yeah Generals had an "excellent" storyline.... I mean it deserves at least a few Academy awards for the pure excellent driven storyline line.... Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted May 7, 2004 I think the main problem with the storyline is how it basically took the news that dominates the headlines and used it as the basis for the game. That may not be the case, but that is what I understand some of the criticism to be about. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted May 7, 2004 I thought you meant about the orignial Generals. That was utter crap. Zero hour wasn't bad. But still not much effort was really put into the storyline. Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted May 7, 2004 No, the storyline could really use and improvement. But the SAGE engine kinda made up for it. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted May 7, 2004 Why did you like the generlas storyline? :? Generals has no storyline.... Zero Hour has a weak storyline. Lets face it when EA made Generals they made a balanced (yeah right) RTS game for online/LAN multiplayer with an awesome looking graphic engine. Oh yeah they added some random missions that had no flow what so ever. Then they chopped out all the features that would later become Zero Hour. Share this post Link to post
Gazdude 0 Posted May 7, 2004 better storylines would be a few....... Your not including Generals in that statement are you? Reading this post it seems as if you are defending Generals Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted May 8, 2004 I have always been someone who loves modern warefare RTS games so the realism of the units and similar stuff has to be my choice. As well as the gameplay Although i would say everything else has taken a step back from the Westwood masterpieces that once beheld us. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted May 9, 2004 better storylines would be a few....... Your not including Generals in that statement are you? Reading this post it seems as if you are defending Generals Quite the oppisite Gazdude But I'm not saying that Generals is a bad a game though. Its simply doesn't have enough depth when it comes to a storyline. Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted May 9, 2004 True, the storyline and actors of generals.... And geez, how many quote's to a quote can you have? lol Share this post Link to post
Gazdude 0 Posted May 9, 2004 better storylines would be a few....... Your not including Generals in that statement are you? ok it just looked like you were defending its storyline... Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted May 9, 2004 No more quote's, no more quote's. Its making my head spin! Share this post Link to post
)Wolf_Demon( 0 Posted June 7, 2004 best improvement (up to Red Alert2, cause i havent played Generals or Zero Hour cuz my computer is win 98) would have to be realism. things look more realistic, and play realisticly. ie: in Red Alert you could surround ur base with a few tesla towers and you wouldnt have to worry about attacks. in RA2 that is impossible (unless you modify it so that it is UBER) Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted June 13, 2004 I thought of a great improvement. Not having to build silos all the time. Having to worry about losing your funds if you can't store them was a little rich. Share this post Link to post
J-Fire_Man 0 Posted June 13, 2004 Tiberium silos? :? If that so, you will be out of money when all of your silos are destroyed. Share this post Link to post
General Leang 0 Posted June 13, 2004 That's what I mean. If you wanted to save up your money, you had to build the silos. In RA2 and Generals, what money you earned you could keep basically, with the exception of the spies. Share this post Link to post
J-Fire_Man 0 Posted June 13, 2004 I'm tired of building new silos when my silos have reach it's limit. And it can be captured bt the enemies, and the enemies wil have the tiberium that I stored in the silo. But, we can capture the enemy silos too and suck up the opponent's money. chickendippers 1 Posted June 13, 2004 But you can't silo out of your base to build defences at your perimiter. Share this post Link to post
J-Fire_Man 0 Posted June 14, 2004 I always protect my silos with walls and gate to prevent it from being captured by the enemy. Share this post Link to post

Yeah, but silos make things more realistic. That's what I mean. If you wanted to save up your money, you had to build the silos. In RA2 and Generals, what money you earned you could keep basically, with the exception of the spies. Spies, I always use them when I played as the Allied in RA2 and YR. They can suck up your money without being detected. They are great, but it's stupid that they have no weapon. Share this post Link to post
