I was there for most of it. He didn't really discuss anything we hadn't already heard. Hardly worth the dl imo.

i think the only interesting part was when he said that people that loved harvesting and base building should wait after cnc4 to see what we are making.....

do you think the team will make a new rts under an other publiser? or something like that?

the only sure is that the cnc is slowly dying and i can see it in the community too......fading away and loosing interest........

Not to mention he denied about a Generals 2 development. Sam Bass has been involved in a number of interviews lately. Where's Jason Bender and Jim Vessella in the field? By the time CNC4 is released, who's responsible for the patching and balancing? Sam Bass is the lead designer not gameplay balancer. Jeremy Feasel is gone, so I am thinking Jim Vessella might do the job.

He said the future of the franchise is blurry at the moment, and that harvesting may be included in a later game if one were to be made. He promised nothing, and currently they're not working on any other C&C games.

How can they harvest anything if they remove the tiberium in C&C4? :(

New games don't have to be further down the C&C timeline. They could make a game that takes place between C&C3 and C&C4.

Or... possibly even... a Red Alert.

The Japs use the Chronosphere to enter the Tiberium universe and start C&C5! :D

Well I hope community reviews will help speed the return of the core RTS game play elements of economy and base production. From Sam's later interviews its clear their intention is to move the series forward... only mod projects would retcon through a time travelling travesty!

I don't equate economy to merely harvesting... but neither does pop-cap act as a substitute for the dynamics of economy. I think it wouldn't be too hard to create an alternate harvesting mechanic in the future... it's just that Tiberium was such an integral part of the C&C universe it was sadly lacking to have it missing from the game.
