C&C 4 Unit Profile - Nod Cyborg Reaper

Recommended Posts

The game may be already be released but there is another new Command & Conquer 4 unit profile posted on the Official C&C Site. This profile features the Nod Cyborg Reaper. As always this profile features a short in game video, concept art and extra information. Here is a sample....

The Reaper’s primary armament is a the Multiple Objective Laser System, or MOLS, a focused laser array linked directly to the unit’s cybernetically enhanced cerebral cortex, allowing near the instantaneous acquisition – and subsequently, destruction – of multiple targets, even on a crowded battlefield. This system has proved especially effective against larger GDI combat vehicles, with the Reaper’s ability to target multiple weak spots simultaneously allowing the unit to carve apart even the hardiest mammoth tank in a matter of seconds.

Yes, it can walk. IT WILL WALK ALL OVER YOU!

Haha. Is walking all it can do? ;)

Role: Multi-Role Laser Walker

It only walks on four legs, and crush its opponents by walking over them. That's all, folks.

Sonic... you erased too much of my first post and tossed my valid comment:

The video only shows the thing walking in a straight line... that's kind of pointless...

Now its all dirty from being in the bin... :(

Hmm... I saw no crushing going on in that video... are you sure it doesn't just... walk... in a straight line...?

Sorry man, wasn't me. I didn't delete/edit anything.

And regarding the not so interesting video for the Cyborg Reaper profile. APOC explains it.....

Haha, yea, the time for comprehensive unit videos has passed. I created all of those since Red Alert 3, I need to prioritize my time and plus, everyone sees him in-game now.

Just nice to have some type of video up there, hehe.

Those unit videos I've created are complex and take a long time to generate.

People don't seem to understand the amount of time and effort that goes into putting together the unit profiles I guess.

I got to be honest on that part regarding only the walking animation video, I prefer no videos shown at all rather than an incomplete one.

I bet the official forums are still mad about regarding this kind of rushed work. Anyway, if you want to show more unit profiles, sure, as long as the storyline doesn't create plotholes (Hopefully you read the Roundtable about this, APOC, I'm sure you are sad as well, not just me), and as long as it's worth reading, then it'll be cool. Video wise, if you don't have the time or not enough of it, then don't create. Better keep the disgrace away from the still-angry & non-forgiving fans.

Oh ok, never mind then.

For once, I'm actually agreeing with Silverthorn! This video was pointless, I watched the entire thing expecting something to happen. If all it was going to do is walk in a straight line, they could have at least cut the length of it by half or more.

I'm actually more interesting in seeing the video of its capabilities in action than reading some backstory, but I guess people that already own the game would prefer a backstory to go with their unit...

Are there any plot holes in that profile?

Yeah I agree - a in-game screenshot is more than sufficient.

I'm not sure, I'm more towards the Red Alert side actually. I'm pretty sure the Tiberian fans will check onto it. ;)

I hope APOC and whats left of the EALA team wrap up and release the remaining missing unit/structure profiles as soon as possible, as it doesnt make any sense that the game is release and the backstory of the units are still not available, and they can update each respective unit videos on a later time when they are less busy.

lol, I admire your enthusiasm, but don't forget they still haven't finished the RA3 profiles, and don't have any intentions to do so.

I'm afraid they'll never get it done, if APOC creates those unit profile videos, who wrote the stories? What I know is that they do not have the determination to get the job done. They can say busy all they want, but not doing a good job or having no good determination may lead to public embarrassments, just like that, hence the RA3 unit profiles are not finished, for months or probably a year or so.

I can honestly say, with a 100% certainty, that whoever is writing those stories has plenty of determination to see it through.

Though, mind you, units that already have profiles in KW, for example, like the Marked of Kane, really don't need additional profiles here. Maybe just put it up on the site and add an updating paragraph.

I didn't have the time to fully read every word of the said description of this unit profile; I skimmed through. But I am certain that there are doubts I have about the Reaper.

Previously in Tiberian Sun, it had a multi-rocket weapon and a special ability to throw webs at infantry and trap. But now I'm playing this new C&C4 - recently I got GDI at Level 20 and Nod at Level 18 - the Reaper's function is some Defense-class unit that shoots Beam weapons. The rocket weaponry and webbing ability are gone, why's that?

As for the Unit Profile page itself, I think more screenshots to display its abilities and weapons would be more concise than showing a video of the Reaper walking continuously. Just my thoughts.
