True. Things like that need to backed up by something.

I even heard a rumor that at one point before or after C&C3 was released, Blizzard wanted to buy C&C, but EA wanted too much so Blizzard didn't buy it.

That's some rumor.

To be honest, I don't think anyone really want to take over or buy C&C now.

It should have been Petroglyph so the former Westwood guys can bring back what they started. But it will never happen ever again.

No. It's not going to happen and it shouldn't, westwood is dead, the people have moved on. We just need fresh people with fresh ideas and a clean slate.

This is true. Even if all the ex-Westwood employees were brought back together, I doubt it would be the same. Westwood was destroyed and unless we can travel back in time to prevent it, it can never be resurrected again.

We just need fresh people with fresh ideas and a clean slate.

Fresh people with fresh ideas and a clean slate is what brought us C&C3 through C&C4. We will need more than those ideals alone if there is ever to be a hope for C&C's future.

Now that the trust in terms of C&C between the customer and EA is so awkward, I don't think we'll see anything in that direction for quite some years.

I'm with you on this one, like Greg said, EA should be like Blizzard, 3 to 6 years of constructing a good game. Quality is the most important thing, if you watch over quality, you'll guarantee lots of money in return, think of how much Starcraft 2 will earn in return when it comes out. If you just rush and chunk out a game, sure, you'll earn money in return for a medium quality game, but that will result your reputation & deliverance ability getting worse and worse and thus losing more customers (And also results great employees resigning). So far, EA, think about it and ask yourself, Greg hurt you back when he exposed the reality when he used to work with you. Remember not just him & the great RTS teammates he has, that also includes Mark Skaggs.

PS : I thought the dev teams are the bad guys which I thought at first including they are the ones who are responsible for C&C's downfall, but Greg said it's the execs are the ones to blame. Poor dev team, if only we can apologize. As for you, execs, we WILL be watching you & your every move!

Does anyone else see John Candy when they look at that photo?

9 to 11 months is not much. When I think about it, it's quite amazing how long they got with RA3.

Silver, you should think about making smaller posts, since they are one hell to get through ^^

Are you really that dense?

I just hope a new C&C PC product with a better storyplot, better gameplay, better programming, and new engine, with plenty of time for the developers to refine and improve on it before launch. That's all I can ask. EA, please let go of the C&C franchise and let some other decent companies take this job.

Woo, I wish I could keep it short, it's just sometimes I like a reasonable long post. But I agree with you, I do hate reading my own long posts as well. Try to summarize shorter but I may take out important points as well.

--------

Well Sith, you can say all you want, but I tell you, people do still get crazy & stupid as long as the franchise still lives and under by its bad masters (EA). Like I did mention earlier before, can we just bury the franchise already? But the answer is still the same, EA keeps it alive for the sake of money. :banghead: + *Face palm*

--------

Mal, I'm with you, another company like Blizzard or Relic (Which I don't know that one) will do better or even Valve too.

Red Alert 3 I got the feeling it should take about at least 15 to 18 months to finish, 9 to 11 is just way too short. Yeap, Greg Black escaped EA just like how Mark Skaggs did the same thing.

Inevitable EA is making a new CnC. I think they should create a new engine first and then get the game design right. If its going right we might here about it in 2013 E3, if we hear anything sooner, then most probably it would suffer the same fate as CnC4
