Chronojam 3 Posted June 30, 2010 I noticed this while browsing one of the wikia sites, for Monster Hunter: Tri in fact. Caption is mine of course, but the rest is the fault of some retarded graphics design intern I'm guessing who hasn't been around the gaming circles much in the past decade! C&C 5: Fall of Rome. Good idea or bad idea? I think I'd give it a shot, can't be worse than C&C 4. We'd finally learn if it was named after the Tiber River or a historical figure. Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 289 Posted June 30, 2010 Sounds boring. Depending on how it was twisted, it could be good, but the idea is not a very sensible one. We'd finally learn if it was named after the Tiber River or a historical figure. Tiberium? Of course it was named after the river, they've stated that. Share this post Link to post
Guest Stevie_K Posted June 30, 2010 Looks retarded. And yes, Tiberium is named after the Tiber river. The material was found in the area of a recent meteor strike. It has nothing to do with any figures. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 30, 2010 Those ****ty online games always doing crazy ****. I remember all those adverts where they had pornstars inviting you to invade 'their kingdom'. This is nothing new. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted June 30, 2010 Please don't degrade C&C. Leave the Tiberium universe alone! Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted June 30, 2010 C&C 5: Fall of Rome. Good idea or bad idea? I think I'd give it a shot, can't be worse than C&C 4. Guest Stevie_K Posted June 30, 2010 Please don't degrade C&C. Leave the Tiberium universe alone! Just when you thought it couldn't be degraded any further right? ^^ Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted July 1, 2010 I'm fairly sure you can't do much worse to C&C than C&C4. Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 289 Posted July 1, 2010 I'm fairly sure you can't do much worse to C&C than C&C4. Imagine what it would have been like if the fanbase never spoke out... Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted July 1, 2010 Maybe those crazy buggers should try merging C&C and The Twilight Saga together instead. My eyes... Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 1, 2010 Imagine what it would have been like if the fanbase never spoke out... You mean the same? Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 289 Posted July 1, 2010 You mean the same? Funny man... I mean no Tiberium, Wormmen, PCV Avatars, etc... Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted July 1, 2010 Funny man... I mean no Tiberium, Wormmen, PCV Avatars, etc... But even when the fans reacted, it still didn't turn out well. Kane steps into the Overlord's ***hole , which was seriously epic (really!), and we can safely conclude that the Scrin were just merely too chicken to even start a second invasion war on Planet Earth. Nmenth 289 Posted July 1, 2010 But even when the fans reacted, it still didn't turn out well. True, but my point is that it would have been worse. Share this post Link to post
Inferno 22 Posted July 1, 2010 True, but my point is that it would have been worse. I'm not too sure about that... Share this post Link to post

Actually, in the nod campaign in TibDawn, Kane claims he named Tiberium after Tiberius Julius Caesar. Video here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2197717207618713391 Seek to about 14:05. It's why I made my comment in the first place, about having a chance to finally find out the answer in C&C 5: Fall of Rome, and I figured a lot of long-time players would appreciate the joke instead of wondering what I was talking about... And, because, you know, in-game cinematics always reflect the developers intent. I'm not sure what are you are getting at, are you saying Kane was having a moment of self-inflated bull**** or that movie was somehow a mistake or that it really was named after the Caesar? (Also off-topic but you're a girl now or something?) Edited July 2, 2010 by Chronojam Share this post Link to post

There ain't no C&C 5... It simply doesn't exist, and it hopefully won't in any near future. I don't know where you found that silly ad for a lousy online game but it doesn't have anything to do with C&C. Edited July 2, 2010 by Stevie_K Share this post Link to post
Sonic 293 Posted July 2, 2010 Firstly that image makes me laugh  Chronojam isn't saying there is a C&C 5, what he saying what if they were to make something that explains the origins of Kane. Share this post Link to post
Chronojam 3 Posted July 2, 2010 Maybe I wasn't being clear enough? Or maybe people skipped the post, D14810 my very first sentence was "I noticed this while browsing one of the wikia sites, for Monster Hunter: Tri in fact." so obviously that is where I found that ad for the lousy online game and you shouldn't have needed to ask!
