Luk3us 63 Posted May 14, 2012 Mine is in the mail and will be in my hot little hands tomorrow morning. Though I understand the servers don't come online till later at 7pm, but whatever. So who else is getting this? Share this post Link to post

Nmenth 291 Posted May 14, 2012 Eventually? You have to reaccess your priorites. Hmm, my current priority is not getting ripped off by paying huge loads of money for a game that will be just as good at half price. Not only does waiting a year or two save me money, it also means several patches will exist and people will have stopped giving horribly positive reviews because they are caught up in the excitement of having something new. Luk3us 63 Posted May 14, 2012 Nmenth stop using your filthy logic and valid reasoning, you're meant to be running around like a rapid fanboi soaking your panties in anticipation for the best game ever to be released. Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted May 14, 2012 Nmenth stop using your filthy logic and valid reasoning Logic and valid reasoning guides me to a fault. It is faulty because the consequence of a calculative rather than impulsive thought process results in a very slow reaction time (relatively speaking). This means I generally suck at games. the best game ever to be released. Diablo II set the standards very high. In my opinion, Diablo III is not going to meet that standard. If you do not keep your expectations in check, you may find yourself disappointed. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted May 14, 2012 Here's my answer: never. Me too. I am not much interested in roleplaying except for the RPG at a first-person shooter closeup, like the Deus Ex series. Share this post Link to post
Malevolence 6 Posted May 15, 2012 (edited) I never like Blizzard titles, even though heard that Blizzard studios has been way better than retarded corporations like EA and Activision. Anyways, never like those fantasy magical happy ever after BS, prefer something more realistic. Find it really silly to see my peers posting on social network sites pictures of themselves queuing overnight and hours, and making multiple hard copies over a silly game per person, wonder what's with that overhype and stuff of this whatever. And one more thing, why do one Blizzard fanboy need to get multiple copies of the same game anyways??? (One for breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner, and one for supper??? Hmmmmm... never witnessed such enthusiasm from gamers in my entire life.) The only way I will enjoy any of Blizzard games is to force me to sit through hours of Twilight franchise, and making me read the entire Twilight novels, and making me choose between team edward or team jacob. Period. Edited May 15, 2012 by Malevolence Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted May 15, 2012 those fantasy magical happy ever after BS This does not describe Diablo. The hero of Diablo I becomes possessed by the demon and is his human form into Diablo II. Nearly all the civilian NPCs of Diablo I are slaughtered. The heroes of Diablo II all go insane from what they witnessed after Diablo II. The final city and entire homeland of the Barbarian people is annihilated as a solution to defeating Diablo's brother after the end of Diablo II. There quite consistently has never been a "happy ever after" in the Diablo series, and it is likely Diablo III will have a bittersweet ending as well. Share this post Link to post

What makes the game such a selling point? That story? or ? Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted May 15, 2012 The story is good, but the gameplay is better. The story doesn't really go into much detail within the games because it is so complex. There are a whole bunch of novels that tell the story. I think Diablo II remained popular and on the store shelves for over ten years because of its replayability. It has several character classes to play with, beat the game and you can keep playing on two higher difficulties with even more powerful monsters dropping even more powerful items, but beyond that, the levels, enemies, and items are all randomized so the game is different every time you play it. Doctor Destiny 41 Posted May 15, 2012 What Blizzard game has a "happily ever after ending"? I can't name one, except maybe The Lost Vikings. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted May 15, 2012 I like to think of Diablo I as being the game that made the 'point and click' RPG successful. I've played a whole 2 hours of Diablo III now. It really feels just like Diablo II, which depending on your view, is a good/bad thing. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted May 16, 2012 You must be playing on the Asia servers. Most of yesterday was spent with the US D3 network offline for maintenance. Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted May 17, 2012 Ugh... with the release of this game, the Diablo wiki has been hit with a ~20x increase in vandalism. Share this post Link to post
PurpleGaga27 40 Posted May 18, 2012 Ugh... with the release of this game, the Diablo wiki has been hit with a ~20x increase in vandalism. That's not all. The ratings of Diablo III is beginning to feel like the next Mass Effect III, now with the huge controversy of server/connection/login issues and the similar C&C4 DRM all over again. Some players are already calling Diablo III an epic fail. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted May 18, 2012 Someone will always call any game an epic fail, no matter what it is. Take those knobjockeys with a huge grain of salt. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted May 20, 2012 Yeah metacritic is a joke really, both in the 'accredited' reviews from fancy publications and the 'user' reviews. There is no real middle ground. I can't blame people for bitching about Diablo III though lots are having server problems or connectivity issues or other game breaking bugs. Not me though, I'm kicking supreme ass and now onto Act III. The only thing I take issue with is the random loot system, 90% of stuff I pickup my Demon Huntress can't use, and 80% of it is all junk. Its like they thought people would only play as Barbarians, I don't need 589293482934 ****ty swords, daggers, shields, axes or Voodo ****ing masks. Share this post Link to post
BigJoe 4 Posted May 21, 2012 (edited) I got a guest pass yesterday and I've been trying it out. Yep, it's Diablo. Edit: Beat the Skeleton King and finished the guest trial. Yep, that was Diablo. Edited May 21, 2012 by BigJoe Share this post Link to post
