Saracen 16 Posted September 20, 2004 My god is this getting desperate to get the forums going? No, it's just that people don't post new threads, so I take it upon myself   Anyway have you got a pet? Is it a dog, cat, Kimodo Dragon? Whatever tell us what you have and please also tell us any strange things about them or strange things they do.... Share this post Link to post
chickendippers 1 Posted September 20, 2004 I (well my brother) has an "Old English" Rabbit called Bugsy - she's beautiful (and if anyone implies anything dogey I'll kill you). We've also got a Hamster called Hammy and a Gerbil supposidly called Sandy, but everyone calls it Gerbie. My brother sure is good at this naming game. I dread to think what he would call his children "me little bastards!" (reference to "King Arthur" movie). Share this post Link to post

J-Fire_Man 0 Posted September 21, 2004 I have none....my dad don't like pets. Besides, whenever there is a pet in my house, it will dead in a matter of few days. Aren't komodo dragons are one of the protected animals? I thought it was illegal to have a komodo dragon. Share this post Link to post

Saracen 16 Posted September 21, 2004 Damn man that kills, sorry to hear about that... I know what it's like when a pet passes away, especially when you've grown super attached to it. It's like losing a part of your own family. About 8 years ago now, I used to have 5 owls, yes that's right owls. The whole back garden was basically converted into 2 large averies. I had 2 bengal eagle owls, which I had for 10 years and 3 barn owls, which I had for about 6 months. The 1st bengal died of choking on a rabbit bone, got lodged in the poor things throat, it asphyixated and died. Then a few months later all 3 barn owls were killed by a fox that somehow managed to find it's way into the avery. They stood absolutely no chance. My 2nd Bengal almost suffered a similar fate, but since the fox was unaware of the sheer power of the owl, it became food itself... ahhh revenge Unfortunately the next night, a large thunder storm came along and wore away the ground of which the fox dug under, The owl got under and flew away. Despite local pleas to help find it, it was too little too late. Since one guy in the countryside actually caught the owl in a rabbit hutch, and fed it on a pork chop. Shortly after he released it, only to read the paper afterwards and discover it was my owl he released. Gutted would not be the word I used there. Of course the RSPCA had been called on numerous occassions concerning the welfare of the owls in the back garden, but despite frequent visits to our home, the RSPCA gave the thumbs up and said they were better treated than at the local zoo. I loved them, they were my pride and joy, the result of many many hours of hand rearing and love and affection, just a shame they didn't pass away from natural causes. If I had the time and money to do it again I would anyday, these were the best pets I had, and perhaps ever will own. Share this post Link to post
Thierry 0 Posted September 22, 2004 Well, I'll get over it, it does suck, but he was in pain, and thus we had to put him to sleep. When he was 3 year, he ate a piece of grass, which got stuck in his throat, every vetenarian believed he wouldn't live for more then a year after that, but he lived a total of 11 years Share this post Link to post
