PurpleGaga27 40 Posted July 2, 2014 It's sad that VLC has turned to its worst, after the devs upgraded it after 2.1 with a new format (latest version is 2.13), users are aggravated by the stopping issues on some videos that they liked to play, especially recorded video. The last stable version of VLC that I know of is either 2.07 or 2.08. Versions after 2.1 and thereafter haven't been stable due to bug and crash issues that have yet to be fixed. So is there a media player that can play all audio, DVD, Blu-ray and recorded/downloaded video content other than Cyberlink PowerDVD? Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 102 Posted July 3, 2014 Media Player Classic generally does pretty well, though I've had a few DVDs where the menus didn't work... Media Player Classic generally gets installed with about any codecs pack you can find, anyway. Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted July 3, 2014 Since switching to Windows 7 back in late 2009 I've never bothered with any alternative media players, mostly due to the fact that Windows Media Player 12.0 does everything. When I upgrade to Windows 8.1 later this year I'll be sticking with Windows Media Player. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted July 3, 2014 Hell, I'm still stuck with WinXP, and I've seen less issues with VLC 2.1.3 than any previous version BSPlayer used to be good for general watching of movies with subtitles, but didn't have that many codecs when I used it... Share this post Link to post
Tore 33 Posted July 3, 2014 Media Player Classic is one of the best (if not the best) video player applications for Windows. Share this post Link to post
Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 5, 2014 K-Lite Codec Pack and WMP works fine for me. I use KMP 3.0 for most of my video playing though. Better playlists. Share this post Link to post

Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 8, 2014 Why does everyone recommend MPC? There are better alternatives out there. Share this post Link to post
