Should the next C&C have Command & Comedy??

If it's C&C 3 I especially think they should include someone like him as political satire for Nod. Afterall Nod try and cheat and lie with their propoganda so a Nod information Minister would work well... such classic quotes from the Baghdad Bob could be used in the next C&C such as....

GDI tried to bring a small number of tanks and personnel carriers in through Sarajaevo but they were surrounded and most of their infidels had their throats cut. (On the invaision of Saraaevo)

We made them all drink poison last night and Kane's soldiers and his great forces gave the GDI scum a lesson which will not be forgotten by history. Truly.(After GDI capture and set up in a Nod base)

Out temple still stands tall, there are no forces in the country and the whole base and Kane's powerful Obelisks still continues to scare GDI away. (The main base has been destroyed and the temple captured/destroyed)

 

OK C&C will still have it's serious points, but I think the game would have an impact on potentially a larger audience, and will give us something just to laugh about when comedy like this comes about.... It was used in Tiberian Sun when Oxanna was aparently dead and then walks into the TV station, OK that was a one off... but to have this guy speak now and again in cutscenes from GDI & Nod mission breifings or mission accomplished movies would be cool

Well TS has subtle comedy in it and I think that's how it should stay.

I wouldn't mind seeing some comedy in a game. RA2 was too cheesy for my taste, but as long as its TT, I could care less weather its funny or not.

Command & Comedy was RA2, but I would enjoy having Baghdad Bob in the game. Something else they could put in is a new unit. This is going to sound rather horrid, but since we have had suicide bombers, hijackers and anthrax, how about a unit that is a human shield? Have them civillians who oppose GDIAlliesUSA and throw themselves in front of units or structures so they do not fire, or if they do (maybe you can force fire) they will look bad for killing them.

RA2 cutscenes where way too cheesy, but still, it was a huge succes. We want a game which is fun to play, and having comedy in there helps. I wouldn't like to see it in C&C3: TT though, the FMVs should remain pretty serious there (and yes, there must be FMVs!).

RA2 have the best movies and storyline. And Romanov is a funny guy, I happen to laugh whenever I saw him teasing Yuri or joking with people.

Certainly they were cheesy, but the actor who played Einstine is one of the top Einstine actors there is. I think he played him in docuementaries and the like.

Yeah, the actor playing Einstein have done a good job. But, president Dugan sure doesn't have any sense of humour, hate him. Yuri is funny too, with his beard and the way he speak. Tanya, Lieutnant Eva, and Sofia are hot babes

I'm assuming your refering to the Enisten in the original Red Alert 2 correct? Not the one in Yuri's Revenege....

I think the same person. I hate the Allied story, Soviet story is better, far better. It's unfortunate that there is no Yuri campaign in single player.

The funniest part I can think of from RA2 was either from the second Soviet mission, with that Naval General Vladimir and those girls.

I also like (from YR) when Yuri is about to get eaten by a T-rex, a friend of mine got a screenshot of it lol, a scared Yuri. Yuri is played by Udo Kier btw.

Yeah he's been in a few films, perhaps the biggest being Blade, as one of the head council of Vampires. Unfortunately he gets burnt to a crisp on the rocks at a beach, but I love Udo's voice, very unique. I always thought he was putting it on for show, but he speaks exactly like that.

 

General Carville (Barry Corbin) has been in too many things to remember... the latest thing he's in is a series called "One Tree Hill" As a gym class teacher... the guy never changes....

 

Tanya (Kari Wurher) she's never really got off the ground as far as acting goes... Eight Legged Freaks was the best film she got in and that was still crap... I think to some extent those who played in Red Alert 2 got their careers (if they had any to start with) ruined...

 

At least in Tiberian Sun Westwood got decent actors in to do the job... real talent... compared to Red Alert 2... I can't understand how Joe Kucan managed to go through with directing half that trash in RA2 is beyond me. In fact that probably killed Joe's chances of actually securing any movie directing in the future....

 

I think the only person that could do C&C FMV sequences in the future would be Joe.. EA in my mind need to employ him, and make outstanding use of him... cos if this is C&C 3 coming as the next RTS then without Joe as Kane and without Joe directing (if there are gonna be any FMV sequences) C&C 3 is just gonna be a large pile of crap. :roll:

Wise man say, FMV a game do not make, no matter how many attempts have been made. But the C&C movies are good fun, perhaps the ones in Tiberium Sun (not Firestorm) were the best.

With the way he acts in Yuri's Revenge you would think it is a diffirent actor. It was Larry Gelman who played Einstein in both games. In Yuri's Revenge though the acting takes more of a backseat and the characters are, for lack of a better term, odd.

I think the only person that could do C&C FMV sequences in the future would be Joe.:

 

He had his chance, and he blew it. RA2 and TS Firestorm are proof. New blood would be good, give C&C a fresh angle.

 

FMV's have always been average at best. I think it would be easier to just use animation to do any movies. Least the people will do a decent acting job. Like in Renegade. But with decent voice acting and voice overs.
