New Zero Hour Patch Announced

I just posted the news on the main page of CNCNZ.com. The 1.3 patch for Zero Hour is real and it gets released on February 28 2005. It promises to be a big update for the game.

 

Unexpected news to me I must say.

 

And just like I said in the news update I posted, perhaps EA do care after all :lol:

Harvard Bonin, Senior Producer at EA Los Angeles. "While this patch addresses the most common cheats and technical errors seen in recent months, it is going to give Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour a dynamic face-lift inspired by community feedback.

So it fixes cheats and copies the ACETON-Balancing-Modification.

Will be hard to change them to 1.3 Thierry?

You probably can't answer that until you the patch though and test thing I guess.

 

Other Zero Hour mod teams are facing the same situation as well.

Well it depends, if its just small issues, such as a few small weapon changes, speed, armor etc, those things, then its ok, but if it goes further then that, such as module editing, OCL changes and stuff about command bars, then it might be a problem.

Luckily, I hope that WR will still work, if so, then its just searching for bugs, else....it could be a while to get it all right.

 

Honestly, I think EA should have done this a year ago, or not all.

Battlebus:

- Decreased speed from 75 to 70

 

Radar Van:

- The radar van now detects stealth units in a larger radius

 

Technicals:

- The primary weapon now uses gat damage and no more comanche vulcan

Battledrone:

- Increased heal rate from 5 to 10 HP/sec

 

Flashbangs:

- Increased primary damage from 25 to 35

Assault Helix:

- The bunker isn't available from the beginning anymore. He has to be upgraded in the helix. Buildcost: 500, Buildtime: 20

 

Advanced Troop Crawler:

- Decreased heal rate non upgraded to 2% and when upgraded to 4% (It was 4% and 4%)

 

Inferno Cannon:

- Speed increased from 20 to 30 (undamaged)

- Firestorm is now set off by 3 inferno cannons (before 6)

 

Minigunner:

- Decreased range of the ground weapon from 125 to 115

- Decreased damage to air units from 12 to 10

- The explosion power was increased

 

Tunnel-Network:

- Damage increased from 10 to 15

Map-Changes

 

Alpine Assault:

- The second, lower civil vehicle was removed (Now each player has only 1 civil vehicle)

- All 4 bunkers can now be cleared by a dragon-tank without problems.

 

Bombardment Beach:

- smoothened the terrain (air perspective) in front of the boxes at the ravine

- adjusted the path to the center boxes at the ravine

- adjusted the path to the far left supply

 

Final Crusade :

- slightly smoothened the terrain at the bottom right supply

- both oil derricks in the left corner were slightly moved to the right

 

Flash Fire:

- Each starting position now has his own supply piles and his own Oil Derrick

 

North America:

- The right Island cannot be built on anymore

- The UN money-boxes have been removed

 

Sand Serpent:

- On the upper path through the river 2 supply-piles were added

 

Seaside Mutiny :

- adjusted the paths to the three oil derricks (same patch for all players)

- adjusted supply boxes in the middle

 

Tournament Desert:

- While occupying civil bunkers it often came to problems. For example infantry just stopped instead of occupying the bunker. This bug is now fixed.

 

Tournament Plains:

- The left starting position has been levelled (Before you were able to see the terrain through the HQ)

Bugfixes

 

- Tunnelbug fixed. It is no longer possible to transport units through unfinished tunnel-Network‘s

 

- Spectre Gunship Level 1 Hit Points decreased from 1000 to 600. (Adjusted to level 2 and 3)

 

- Colonel Burton knife Bug fixed. Planes or helicopters can no longer be destroyed by the knife-attack.

 

- The Firebase no longer takes damage by irrelevant damage-types (e.g. contamination).

Now - the report, that “the Base is under attack“ doesn’t appear anymore.

 

- Chinooks no longer takes damage by flashbangs

 

- Tomahawks and Scudlauncher now leave boxes to collect after being destroyed

 

- Sentry drones no longer automatically engage on enemy units while being stealth

 

- The Scud Storm Weapon now causes correct damage on structures

 

- Hijacker can no longer capture a battlebus

 

- The Jarmen Kell of the demolution general can no longer detect stealth units

 

- Nuke’s and Tank’s Troopcrawler now contain the correct Redguards

 

- The GLA Worker Bug, which appeared after the „Fortified Building-Upgrade“ is now fixed.

 

- After the destruction of Laser- and Superweapon Patriots now 3 Rangers appear (Adjusted to the other patriots)

 

- Aero-planes now are targetable by the Infantry-Troopcrawler.

 

- Comanche’s will no longer be destroyed, if they are flying close to each other, and one is shot down.

 

- Explosives no longer disappear, when the tank-hunter is killed

 

- Aero-planes now are targetable by Tank- and Nuke-Outpost’s. The crew no longer leaves the vehicle while attacking.

 

- Tooltips of Laser Patriot and China nuclear Tank-Upgrade fixed

 

- Aurora Alpha Bomber now got the right Design

 

- Raptors and Stealth Fighters aren't recharged in the air anymore when buying the laser missile upgrade

 

- The easy visible bomb truck concealed as an avenger bug is fixed

 

- The computer didn't always recognise the battlebus as a unit - this bug is now fixed

 

- The rockets of the Comanche Upgrade RocketPod now are red if the Comanche has reached

elite status.

 

- The map was sometimes slightly uncovered when building an avenger. This bug is now fixed

 

- ScudStorm Bug fixed

 

- Locomotor of sw, laser and air avenger corrected (they had the crusader locomotor)

 

- The correct Rangers now appear when a building from the Superweapon,

Laser or Airforce General is destroyed

 

- UpgradeCameos corrected

 

- Raptors (not King Raptors) now get the correct +25% damage when upgraded to Laser Missiles. In Zero Hour 1.2 it was less than 25%

 

Fixed a bug that defence buildings can fire on units/buildings without finishing building for this structures:

- Patriot Missile Systems of all USA Generals

- Firebase of all USA Generals

- Gattling Tower of all China Generals

- Tunnel Network of GLA, Stealth and Demolition General

 

You can now aim at air targets with:

- the Avenger

- the Outpost

- the Battlebus

- Humvee

- Troopcrawler

 

 

If this is the case, then it shouldn't really pose a problem for WR, WR has a balance of its own that will overwrite this one, but all the bug fixed will be included :)

I am just glad a new patch is comin.... i was gettin sick of the many cheaters out there. :?

...dun know if it will prevent cheating.

How ironic that Generals was supposed to be impossible to cheat with, and there are loads of bugs so you don't even need hacks.

Well, I too is glad that it didn't affect my mod database. I will got to analyze the updated version of the INIs. There might be some cool secret changes :D
