Sonic 296 Posted August 20, 2005 Metallica - Whiskey In The Jar I've always liked thats song, even though its a cover song. Interesting fact about Whiskey in the Jar.....The song was originally recorded by Thin Lizzy in 1972 but were not the originators in creating the song. It is now a public domain song, known as a traditional Irish drinking song. ..... Metallica - ...And Justice for All Share this post Link to post

Sonic 296 Posted August 20, 2005 Metallica - Dyers Eve A song that Metallica fans keep asking the band to play live. For years Metallica made excuses saying it was to fast, to heavy and to loud for a live version. Something about the extreme nature of the songs structure and drum tracks. Last October Metallica finally caved in and played it live. I have facts for many Metallica songs.... I'm a true fan 8) Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted August 20, 2005 Metallica - The Unforgiven, The Unforgiven II That I noticed. What about these two songs? Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted August 20, 2005 The Unforgiven: James revealed on the Classic Albums series DVD the horn intro was lifted and reversed, from a movie which the band have never disclosed. You don't have pay royalties then The Unforgiven II: A long one.... This is the sequel to the first Unforgiven, continuing the story. When James and Lars were jamming on riffs for the Load album, one of the riffs was similar to the first Unforgiven song and the idea came that they would continue the story from the first song. Lars - "We thought, 'Let's continue a story and make a part two of a song we've done before.' The whole aura of the music felt like this could really be a nice way to continue the story on 'The Unforgiven.' It wasn't like I thought I was going to be an unfulfilled person until I continued the song." Share this post Link to post
Acerz492 1 Posted August 20, 2005 Wow, cool! Those two songs are probably my most favourite Metallica songs, up there with Hero fo the Day, Untill it Sleeps, Frantic, Whiskey in the Jar, and of course, One and Nothing Else Matters... Hell. All of the aforementioned songs are #1. Metallica - Wherever I May Roam Share this post Link to post
