EA is losing their grip. As far as the CNC franchise, that died when Westwood stopped being Westwood. CNC has been dead for years. CNC Generals and Zero Hour were CNC games in name only. They were not really CNC games. They were the start of a new franchise, as RA3 is. Whatever Petroglyph makes is the real RA3. All of the old Westwood employees quitting is a sign of how completely they have lost control of the CNC franchise. Even Blizzard has better game support. That makes more sense if you play WOW on Dethecus server, where the tech support is worse than the U.S. national debt. In summary, EA had their chance. Now I lay my hopes with Petroglyph.

I think EA did a bang- up job on C&C generals. But the idea of a Red Alert 3 sounds dissapointing. I have never been a fan of the RA universe
In my opinion, The original C&C and Red Alert was the best, I am glad to see them carrying on the series, but I think RA2 was a disappointment after I fell in love with Red Alert. I think EA with C&C is going to be crap once all the former westwood workers leave EA. Personally I think if that happens EA is going to let C&C go...... All I am saying basically is that I wish Westwood was still the company who made C&C, I will just say we would be alot happier with the Gameplay, the games themself, and mostly tech support. EA did a crappy job keeping up with ZeroHour and basically lost me after I left waiting for a patch and fell in love with another game. I did play around two games after the patch was released but all my former online friends quit because they were tired of waiting aswell.

As a C&C fan the only thing I care about is that someone continues to make C&C games. Does it really matter who is working them?

Whatever Petroglyph makes is the real RA3.

So your saying that Petroglyph's Star Wars RTS is next C&C? Can you tell me why? Is it because so many former Westwood people are working on it?

When (or if) I'm play the real RA3 I'll say to myself "this is much better than the a boring Star Wars game, a franchise thats been done to death"

I think we should give EA a break already. Sure they're not the best gaming company out there but they're got all the C&C rights... And so they're the only ones who will be making any C&C games...

So we're stuck with them.

Besides Petroglyph is making are making a Star Wars game... Which isn't doesn't really relate to C&C at all.

Yes they are STARWARS game making, but dont shoot down SW. Its the most comprehensive "alternate" reality universe ever.

In other words, it's the same but different.

as sonic said abnout the star wars franchise being done to death; i agree, but it also still sells games. Surley it wud be good if they cud get cnc games up there with them, so that many years down the line, they are still making big, successful and amazing cnc games.

Second. First place goes to Dune, hands down

I just got Battlefront, and I have to say that I am pretty impressed. It's a fun game!

thats good, the thing with star wars is that they have branched out in to multiple genres, that helps to keep it fresh so to speak. i know cnc did aswell with renegade, but i think its mainly due to the now outdated graphics that did it in. They are good and the gameplay is great, just ask the people who play it. a sequel would have been a good project because it wud have carried on the story, but also as with the sw games, it wud have kept the cnc universe fresh. Ra2 might not have been what people wanted, but imo it did have a good storyline to follow on from ra1, poeple say 'psychic stuff, impossible'; but thats the fun of cnc, it isnt 100% true to life, and it kept the world of cnc alive. Same goes for TS, wasnt the game many wanted, but it kept the story alive. you guys still talk about it now. u find the good things, and the bad things and discuss them. Generals aswell, i dnt think any1 in their right mind expected that tbh, an rts with a cnc name, didnt work, but on the other hand it kept the, i dnt know, lets say desire, alive for a new true cnc game. people are already bludgening ra3 to death before we have seen any concepts or any hard facts about the game have been released. they say they dnt pin their hopes on it. Don't, we're not asking you to. All we ask is that u support it, and i know this may sound authortarian of me, but be happy that u know it's is set in the ra universe at least and that the chances are that something incredible may come of it.

Star Wars may have been done to death, but games published by Lucasarts are not limited to Star Wars. They published Mercinaries on the PS2 and X-Box, which as you all know has not got an inch of Galactica oriented theme within it...

Regardless of what people might say now, I bet we all buy it at some point, even you Sonic. I'm buying it on release, mainly cos I like Star Wars. I'm not a star wars obsessive, but I do like the movies, enough so to get the game straight away...

And since it's petroglyph, full of ex-Westwoodians who know how to create a decent RTS game when they know how, I don't think the game will be sub-standard by any means, do you?

The C&C brand still sells, EA knows this.

Why do you think they slapped the C&C label on Generals?

Maybe, maybe not. I don't consider myself a Star Wars fan to be honest. I've only ever purchased 2 Star Wars games ever, JK2: Jedi Outcast and Knights of the Old Republic on XBox (only because it was cheap).

Get Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Its great game, especially online. Everyone's doing backflips, wall runs, and high jumps. You can jump really high in the game (force jump). Its like a ninaja jedi fight. And there are many lighsaber techniques for the different styles. There's combo such as force pull stab (pull people right into your lightsaber), attack kata (attack dance), and even lightsaber throw that you control. The lightsaber throw is cool. It goes where ever you look, and you control it like a remote, unlike KOTOR where you just throw it.

KOTOR primary focus isnt combat, unfortuneatley.

Dune only had a few planets, limited history, not that many non-human species, limited military capability, one game, One book (or two) and very few characters, as to compare to STARWARS.

Oh.. And no Force.
