why is it that there is the gla instead of al-qaida, also why are the chinese involved, and why is it that the 3 other major powers, the british, french, and russians are not involved

Okay, first of all al-qaida is not anywhere near a military like force like GLA, GLA is more like an alliance of arabian militias and armies with a touch of terrorism.

 

second, if an RTS game can minimise the good side to the US, they will, regardless whether its American or not strangely, I don't know why but even European RTS do that, e.g Eugen's Act of War and RealityPump's World War III.

 

Russia isn't too powerful anymore, in 20 years time China will be a superpower nevermind a major power so between Russia and China, China was the more intelligent choice and besides, it was more original to pick China too...

waraddicts 2nd dosn't make sence, and it wouldn't be like RA if the french, brits, and yanks were saperated instead of a sub fraction, also why is it the gla attack china, after all they are muslims and i dont see any reason why islamic terrorist would attack china, maybe a marxist lenninist group but not a muslim group, oh, well russia could be fighting the terrorist becouse they could have been supporting the chechens

Well, if they are Kazachstani muslims its possible but then again in some missions GLA seems more anti-kazachstan.

 

However, its worth pointing out that under no circumstance did EA ever make clear of GLA's beliefs or goals, for all we know they might not be islamic (though then again, they probably left that out due to legal reasons).

 

Note: to any muslims, no offence meant, try to understand we are not indicating that people are terrorists because they are muslim, that, we both know, is rubbish and flawed logic.

 

As for my statement about the good side, I meant in most cases, its rare that any european country appears in an RTS (except in WWII Rts and Red Alert), even if the game is European made, frankly I think the US is overated in these games now, its getting quite unoriginal....

 

It would be great to have a near future game with Europe as the good side for once...

Don't know, but not a single one yells 'Allah' or anything like that, EA probably hinted that they are but never really clarified it.

Maybe there could be a game where another war breaks out in Europe only no outsiders get involved.

 

BTW I think EA left Europe out because 1:The EU dosnt like getting involved in messy affairs with other countries(such as warfare)

 

2: They dont want to spoil RA3 which wil probably feature a few EU nations. Although with all the Westwood staff leaving EA, RA3 is probably gona suck.

Well.....at first I'm kinda pissed off by the storyline of CNC Generals. But it's ok, I see nothing which offended my religion. Eventough most GLA buildings are quite looks like a mosque.

RRRRRRRight. Eventough they looks like a mosque, they actually not a mosque. Many islamic architectures are absorbed in Middle East and Russia's building architecture. Besides, a mosque is not a place to train soldiers.

u might have heard it amongst the shoutings of the angry mob. i beleive that america are used no matter what country the game makers are from simply because its more marketable. We British dnt have the military might to match the US anymore, but we are damn close, and i would love to see my country be more involved in games.

It would not be that dificult (despite what buerocracy has to say) to modify F-22's to be carrier based. I think they should have put in F-18's for the carriers though.
