Away for the Weekend

i know lolol it's the same ghost. his reason for being there is explained in the later sequence

oh really? It's the ghost of a dead Indian, right? I don't remember seeing that same guy again... when does he show up besides the bathroom sequence?

It might be a form of "subliminal messages" used often in scary movies when they insert almost randomly into a film horrid pictures of dead and mutilated bodies. The brain picks up these images unconsiosly, but you'll find your thoughts wandering back to the images that you "never" saw.

Yeah exactly. Stuff like that really affects you subconsciously, and helps to create a mood. I have to say that they really do an incredible job with that in the Amityville Horror :shock:

one of the dead indians. there were loads XD; there are three in cages... two pounce for him, the third just sits there... there's also the one that's on the hook. the one in the bathroom scene is the second pouncer.

and the only sublim thing in that movie was that cut scene bit. i'm not talking about the things where in a suspensful bit they suddenly show something strange and gorey like when he's watching the film and the kid's face warps... what i'm talking about is when they literally cut the film, add a picture of their own tastes and paste it up again. this is not part of the movie, it's something that someone in that specific cinema has done with a pair of scissors and glue. you can tell that by the horizontal lines that show for a microsecond, because amateurs can't easily fix the frames back together. in that cut frame i saw a semi naked woman torn open. it was DEFINATELY not part of the movie. it held no relevance and was about 10 minutes in when nothing bad was happening at all. o.O;

oh okay... that kinda makes some sense then. I was a bit too freaked out to notice the similarity between the pouncing indians and the bathroom guy to be totally honest :lol:

That is really strange... maybe just a joke by the projector runner? It was a semi-naked woman torn open, right? that is a bit creepy... :shock:

yeah i know. it was literally three frames. one cut, one picture, one cut. considering they show 27 frames a second or more you can see why i seemed to be the only one that noticed it o.O; (that and i pick up on details real quick because pixel art facinates me...) it had to be the second pouncing indian because he was the only one with missing skin all over and bleeding eyes like the mirror one o.o plus he had the same hairstyle and gap in the teeth

what i'm curious about is who were all the arms we see repeatedly? random indians, other family members or ketchem?

Well I don't think that ketchem was an actual person, but those arms are from who the FREAKY little girl talks about (the "bad man" in the house). You know, it's the guy who tortured and killed all those indians way back when it was a mission. His face shows up in that window at the end of the movie (*shudder*), and he is responsible for tormenting even the GHOSTS of the murdered people. He does "bad things" to the girl, including hanging her from the roof, smothering her THROUGH the roof, at the end pulling her through the floor, etc... not a very nice guy :shock:

ketchem was the guy who tortured them XD!! aaaah so that was what happened to her right at the end lolol... i was watching, i saw her do the headspin thin, i blinked and she was gone and everyone screamed lolol i was like "eh what where who?!!? >> << oo;;"

the ebil guy with the hat who slit his throat was ketchem... it says it on the book when she's doing the researching. also i was hiding my eyes a fair bit so i heard more then i saw lol

HAHAHAHA!! Yeah, I hate to admit it, but after that whole bathroom mirror thing, I was doing quite a bit of looking away too, so I missed some of the appearance of the indians and the ketchem guy (THAT explains alot). But yeah, at the end there she gets pulled through the floor, presumably to hell. What a nice ending. By the way, what was the "headspin thing?" From what I saw she just smiled strangely, then was pulled through the floor by two arms.

oh okay... I looked away for most of the "random gross images," but caught the ending. What were the images? Were they from earlier in the movie?

Lucky guys! That movie hasn't even hit NZ shores yet. Can't wait to see it, but I don't care if bits and pieces are spoilt here and there. Thanks for the scare warning by the way, I'll remember to bring a pillow or something. :roll: :P
