Luk3us 63 Posted July 29, 2011 I'd disagree with the DLC question. A lot of the DLC I've encountered are all tied into pre-order bonuses and you get for free anyway if you 'play the system'. Other types were you get a new weapon or whatever, are more useful extras to the game. They don't take anything away from the game, like the image above suggests, you can still play it fine. Plok 321 Posted July 29, 2011 DLCs are pointless. Make a decent expansion pack or something, don't cut it into useless pieces that one needs to PAY for. Share this post Link to post

Luk3us 63 Posted July 29, 2011 DLCs are pointless. Make a decent expansion pack or something, don't cut it into useless pieces that one needs to PAY for. DLC is useful for when developers get to the end of development, but run out of time to finish X feature before the game has to be shipped or manufactured. Which is why you see more 1st day DLC and patches. So in your situation, you'd simply get no DLC and holes in the product. Cause making an expansion isn't as common as it once was. Which is why you see more 1st day DLC and patches. That's even worse. This is EXACTLY what my pic wanted to say. A game in pieces and you have to pay for them one by one. So in your situation, you'd simply get no DLC and holes in the product. Cause making an expansion isn't as common as it once was. Wrong. I wouldn't even get such a game. I heard of Battlefield heroes. It'd be - OMG, I'm getting better, but I really need that item or something to level up faster. <THIS ITEM COSTS $3>. Repeat message for every single situation. FTS. Doctor Destiny 41 Posted July 29, 2011 Some DLCs are expansion packs though. Take Borderlands for example. It has 4 DLCs, but they're not integral to the game and you can play the original game easily without them. The DLCs add a new area per pack; the third adds new weapons, shields, enemies and raises the level cap. In essence, the DLC these days are your expansion packs. Though, honestly, when a DLC is just maps and they sell it, that's a dick move. Back in the day, maps were always free, even those made by the game devs themselves. But with any business model, you adapt to include more sources of revenue. If you don't like the idea of a DLC, don't buy it. Simple. Share this post Link to post
